[Loki is sitting by the fire in the Slytherin common room, just staring at the flames. He is holding a book, but is not reading it and is noticeably not as bouncy as he was earlier.]

[Normally, Billy would just beeline for his normal spot in the corner of the room and hole up with his own book(s).

But he recognizes the little boy next to the fire as the one who had been looking over his shoulder at the Gryffindor table throughout the entire feast. He's still tempted to ignore it, but...he's a prefect now. He has to set a good example.

He walks over and takes another chair in front of the fire, setting his own books down on the floor.]

[Gamzee spots Shinra as soon as the other boy enters the Slytherin common room, and grins widely. He makes a beeline for the other boy, grabbing his hand and pulling him up to the fourth year boy's room.] I made you a space and shit, bro! This is gonna be motherfuckin' sweet!

[He waves enthusiastically as soon as he spots Gamzee and allows himself to be pulled over to the fourth year dorms. Once inside, he curiously glances around before turning his gaze back to Gamzee, positively beaming at the other boy.]

[Herbert pulls his trunk into the Slytherin dorms, face set in tight lines. He doesn't like this, being forced into someone else's territory, even if it's only temporary. He's used to Ravenclaw tower, knows his way around, knows the people there. God, he hates social situations.

And now he's just going to stand here, not sure of where to go.]

Perhaps you should start by looking for a place to sleep Herbert? I'm sure if you ask you'll be able to find somewhere quiet.

[Baljeet is standing against one wall of the Slytherin common room, looking more than a bit nervous. Even with the conversation he just had with Arthur over the journals, he thinks of Slytherin as a magnet for bullies.]

[Meanwhile, what is fear? A thing Bonnie has no idea about. At least she's in a Ravenclaw uniform.]

Och, there's too many people...

[Merida has escaped Maxim, at least, but she's still finding the over-crowded Hufflepuff common room frustrating. She likes being around people, but her elbow room is important to her.]

[Jake is feeling a bit claustrophobic, himself, and sort of scurrying about trying to find somewhere less crowded to coop himself up, which is precisely why he doesn't see the wild-haired Merida until he's colliding with her.]

[So he gets to spend the week helping his wife manage two houses in one dorm. This shouldn't be too different from home, just with fewer cats.

Sal can be found bustling around the Hufflepuff dorm, making sure students are getting along and no first years are getting their fingers put into warm water.]

[It just seems polite to greet his head of house. And History of Magic is pretty fun, too.]

[Meanwhile, Bonnibel doesn't look the least bit bothered. She knows enough Slytherins to know they aren't all bad. She's come down from her sugar high enough to be less of a blur and more of a slightly bouncy girl, though she's eyeing a spot on one of the couches in the Slytherin common room like it's a good spot to take a nap.]

[Ahhh there she is. Marcie's been looking everywhere for Bonnie since the announcement, and she gives a small sigh before draping an arm around the third year's shoulder, drawing her closer. Inside the Slytherin common room, there was no reason to wear a sunhat or gloves, and Bonnie would be able to see the facial features that had changed since she'd last seen her.]

[He's never been the best in social situations, so Arthur is more or less trying to remove himself from this one, or at least make himself as unnoticeable as possible. There's a thick book open on his lap - one he'd been reading for most of the summer - and for the looks of it, he's almost done.

For the moment, he's managing to ignore everyone around him. Having twice as many people as usual in the Slytherin dungeon is making that rather difficult, however]

You know, school doesn't start for another 12 hours, you could hold off on the reading.

[Aranea is drinking in the details of the Slytherin common rooms, knowing that this will be one of the few chances she ever gets to see another house's living spaces. A rare opportunity, and one to be treasured, and oh she hopes no one minds her taking notes of things she finds herself curious over, wanting to have something when she later re-checks Hogwarts; A History. But over all she doesn't seem too bothered, and she is keeping an eye on both Raven and Snake students.]

[Marshall is looking around the common room, guitar case in one hand, trunk in the other contemplating his situation. It's bad enough that he has to get used to a new space himself but now he has to possibly share? He knew that he wasn't quite himself in the mornings and that could be problematic. He sighs and mutters to himself.]

[So even though she'll be spending the week in an unfamiliar dorm, crowded with students from two houses, Twilight isn't letting it put her off from what she does best, which is blocking out everything and retreating into a good book. She's found a comfy and more-or-less quiet space in the common room and curled up in it to start reading.]

[Jake has spent the better part of his time here in Hogwarts being equal parts enchanted by the amount of people and terrified by them. For a kid who hasn't spent hardly any time around people his age, this is certainly an experience.]

[Which is exactly why he's folded up on the ledge of a window in the overcrowded Hufflepuff dorms just watching everyone, huge oversized cat draped and dozing in his arms and lap.]

[He isn't the only one staring at the proceedings without a clue on what to do. Ib's just hanging around near the wall, watching the hustle and bustle going on around her. In fact, she's actually drawing the scene in front of her, content to work in silence and not being noticed by the other students.]

[Rose had taken refuge in an area of the Slytherin Common Room that wasn't too busy. She already had a book open and was doing some reading before she headed to sleep.

She kept her eyes wary of people though. While she enjoyed playing around herself once in awhile, she didn't want to see anything too crazy right at the beginning of term. Especially since some Houses really did get involved in their mini House wars!

Some may notice objects floating once in awhile as Rose practices her spellcasting without trying to cause too much problems around her.]

[Rose Lalonde. Oh boy, talk about complicated. She, in Baljeet's opinion, was one of few students who made a show of being smarter than him. Her and Billy Harris, but Baljeet had yet to run into Billy.

However, there was something undeniably magnetic about her intelligence, and he finds himself approaching.]

[Too many people. There were too many people in here at any given time. Marceline had felt claustrophobic at the station and on the train, but at least she had been able to separate herself from everyone. Here it was a nightmare. Her ears picked up everything with her new state. From the gossip happening over in the corner to the heartbeats thrumming in her head.

She's trying to keep the panicked look from her face, but she's not doing too well. She can't move from her spot which makes it even worse, frozen in place.]

[Did anyone ask for a knight in shining armour? Well, sorry, Arthur's going to have to do. Noticing her discomfort from the other side of the room, the boy squeezes through a few groups of students and catches hold of Marceline's wrist]

[For all the whinging people were doing about it being crowded, you would think there would at least be some festivities occurring. With the unintentional back to school slumber party, you'd think someone would be kicking back and enjoying the extra company, but noooooooo, too much to ask for from a bunch of swots. Nearly the ENTIRE common room was packed to the gills with people reading or keeping their mincers peeled for spare corners to position themselves into.

Qu'est-ce que c'est le point? As wet as the Hufflepuff were, at least them and the Gryffindors would be having a laugh right about now. And so Georgia surveyed the common room near the entrance to the dorms, before cautiously calling out:] Does anyone want to play a game or something? Or are we treating the dorms like a library now?

<sub>[Okay. This is a lot of people. There were a lot of people in the Great Hall, but that room was big. This is smaller and similar to the house party they had earlier in the summer, except Dirk was more aware of places he could go to to get away from the crowd.

[Katniss just shoved a cat off a chair she usually sits at, it wasn't that hard but it hissed as her and she hissed back. It's not a Slytherin cat, they know to stay clear of her.]

[Marceline watches the cat runs past her, raising an eyebrow before she turned to the older girl.]

[Later, in the 6th year boy's dorm, Herbert will relax a bit, finally away from the crowds that a mishmash of two Houses can engender.] God, it's awful down there.

Herbert, the common room is up. [Eriq said gently, a hint of amusement in his voice as he pulled the curtains closed around his bed] We went down stairs to get here, remember?

Mmm, but yes, I suppose I understand what you mean. There's not much by way of privacy in the common room, is there?

[If there's something Eridan isn't going to get used to, it's definitely the amount of people in the house. While he's been trying to avoid being in the commons and all that, he just... can't always stay out of it.

But he's going to be a butt and shove his way through crowds and such and asserting his fourth year status, which is probably not the best idea in retrospect.]

[Yeah, up until he shoves into Vriska. What makes it worse is he shoves into her blind side. Without even seeing who it is she lashes out and shoves them back.]

[Karkat has been hold up in the Hufflepuff common room after classes in the hopes of avoiding Equius. Last he heard at least, the Slytherin was hunting him down. He's currently curled up on a comfortable chair in the corner, a plate of baked goodies from the kitchens balanced on one arm of the chair as he flips the page of a worn book.]

The sixth year is suddenly looming over the chair's back, and helping himself to said food.]

[Oggie looks around the Hufflepuff common room, hoping to find someone not too busy he can chat with.

Of course, his definition of "not too busy" is pretty much synonymous with "not in the middle of an intense debate", so that leaves pretty much any one up for grabs.]

[feferi spots Oggie and decides to bother him, since she really can't find anyone else she knows at the moment and she hasn't hear from him all summer.]

[After classes Thursday, Amelia makes her way back down to the Hufflepuff common room, looking for Maxim.]

Maxim, can I speak with you? Privately?

[That should really worry him, but he turns to face Amelia with a bright, stupid grin on his face. He broke Rapunzel's heart, got in a fight with Greg who has been avoiding him since, was stalked by a ghost lizard of shame, and made Bruce flee from him in a near panic attack. Surely Amelia's tits are going to be the turning point of his week]

[ This was the worst time possible for this conjoined dorms thing. Sollux simply laid in his bed, throwing a small plastic rubber ball up and down slowly, trying not to attract much attention. He was torn between feeling awful for that journal entry and thinking everyone was just being touchy because of an expression. Even so, he avoided contact with pretty much anyone because it probably wouldn't be long until someone filled up with self righteous fury would want to punch him in the face. ]
