[Gamzee ambles up and sits on the arm of Arthur's chair, with his usual total disregard for personal space, and then leans against the other boy, peering curiously at his book.] Damn, you could brain a motherfucker with that!

[Arthur grins up at his friend - though he can't keep the light blush off his face - and lifts the book up, knocking the spine gently against Gamzee's forehead]

I'm sure, but there are far less messy ways to go about it that don't involve ruining my books.

Ain't nothing up in there for you to knock out! [cheerfully, adding] But don't you look sweet all pink like that? Whatcha reading?

[The light pink turns to a brilliant red flush the moment it's pointed out and Arthur groans, dropping his head to his knees while he tries to get it under control.

In the meantime, he just holds the book up so Gamzee can read the title - The Once and Future King]

[Gamzee leans lightly on Arthur's shoulder, peering at the book for a long moment ... then brightening.] Motherfuckin' King Arthur! Hell yeah! ... woah, I just realized. Is that what your name is for? Are you like royalty and shit?

[He shoots a somewhat incredulous look up at the other boy, then snorts]

Maybe you are! Like a secret prince and shit! I been reading that can all be happening, just a miracle revelation, 'Oh, hey, guess I'm a motherfuckin' prince with a crown and like castles and white horses and shit!'

[widens his eyes and bends down to peer into Arthur's face] Do you think maybe I'm all being a prince, too?

My friend, should you ever find out that you're secretly a prince, I'll be on your doorstep in a moment to support you, and borrow some money.

[breaks into a sunny grin at that] Shit, bro, you can even borrow my crown, if you're all up and wanting to do that. It'd look better on you, anyway. [sitting up again to ruffle his fingers through Arthur's hair, then flopping back against the chair]

Ack-- Sod off, my hair's a mess enough as it is.

[He pokes the other boy lightly in the ribs, then does his best to put his hair back into some semblance of order. Easier said than done]

Nah, it be looking good! [cocking his head to the side as a thought strikes him] You know, you and Fred got almost the same color, 'cept yours is more gold and his is more like buttercups.

[The comparison makes him frown slightly, and he prods one bony finger against Gamzee's shoulder]

[Gamzee shrugs, then smiles easily.] Dunno. 'Cept you two look cute when you're standing together.
