WHEN: The day of September 2nd for the train, and at night for the feast!
WHERE: Hogwarts Express/Platform 9 3/4 and The Great Hall
WHAT: Gotta get back to Hogwarts! Back to witches and wizards and magical feasts! Students and teachers are finally heading back to school on the Hogwarts express, and with the new school year means sorting for the first years!
STATUS: Ongoing!
NOTE: There is a thread for the Train back to Hogwarts, and the Feast, with a subthread for the Sorting! First years can comment to be sorted, and everyone else can greet their new house mates/students!

[Bruce has found an empty compartment and promptly curled up on his side on a seat in it, bags tucked away safely and uniform still folded up so he doesn't wrinkle it during the ride to Hogwarts. It's the weekend of the full moon, and it's taken his toll, leaving him sickly pale with a bruised look around his eyes from fatigue. Despite the fairly warm weather, he's dressed in a hoodie to cover the pink weals left on his arms from the latest nightly fluffy escapades.]

[Aranea had merely meant to walk by, noting the curled up person in the compartment. Obviously someone who hadn't got a lot of rest last night, not that she could blame them. It was still so thrilling to come back after summer, sometimes even she had trouble sleeping.

But then she recognises the fellow Ravenclaw, and so she stops, gently rapping on the door as she slides it open, peering in. Already in her robes, with both tie and prefect badge on, her hair pulled back in a neat braid she's ready to go, and ready to start fussing over housemates]

Bruce? Am I disturbing you at all? If I am, say the word and I will disappear as if... as if I had disapparated, I suppose.

[She's lucky she caught him when he'd just laid down otherwise he'd be sleeping like the dead. As it is though, he jerks awake and sits up, blinking blearily up at her and putting his glasses back on with a wan smile.]

Oh, hey Aranea. No it's- [yawn] fine, just a bit tired is all.

[Notes her badge with a small grin.]

You suit being a Prefect.

[She adjusts her own glasses as she steps in, giving him a pleasant smile]

Couldn't sleep? I understand that completely. Hopefully it won't be a long day then.

[Here her smile widens. Yes someone is excite]

Thank you! I'm terribly excited, but I imagine that could be said for all the other 5th years chosen. It's something I've wanted to be, ever since I first came to Hogwarts, and to actually achieve it gives me great hope that I'll be able to achieve all my other goals in life. But I'm also so very nervous, so perhaps, if it's alright with you of course, I could come and ask you for tips and advice when needed? I know you too have a lot on your own plate, so I understand if you don't have the time.

[Smiles wryly, sitting up and straightening his clothes out a bit.]

You could say that...

[Runs a hand through his always messy hair and chuckles at her excitement.]

Well, I wasn't Prefect last year but I'll help as much as I can so feel free to bother me whenever. I doubt you'll need it though - you're way more responsible than any of your classmates I know of.

[Someone else has stumbled onto this one-man compartment. Longing for some peace and quiet, Greg had opted to search for a quiet seat. Quietly tip-toeing to an empty seat on the other end of the compartment, he settles in there and pulls out a out of his new textbooks to read. It wouldn't hurt to have an early start.]

[Bruce's ears and nostrils twitch, picking up the near silent sounds and obscure scent of Greg, whom he acknowledges with opening one red eye at and blinking tiredly.]

Hey.

[Greg raises an eyebrow before he shuts his book.]

You look like you've been in the wars.

[Only to realise a second later how bad that sounds.]

It's a saying. Not that you've actually been in the Wizarding one, but well. You just, look like the dog's gone and chewed you off and spit you out.

[Chuckles tiredly at that, shaking his head as he stretches and sits up.]

You have no idea... But do I look that bad today?

[Oh gosh what a cutie. Maxim had been running through the cars, but upon noticing the sleeping sweety, he immediately switched to stealth mode and crept up on the baby.]

[Then crawled on top of him, tucked his nose into the crook of his neck, and snuggled]

[Bruce twitches awake at the snuggling, simply too exhausted and half-asleep to react violently appropriately, blinking his eyes half-open and mumbling dazedly:]

Whu, Maxim...?

Hey sveetie. [He chuckles, giving Bruce a little nuzzle.] Hyu go on right beck to schleep, dollink, hyu look like hyu need it. Hy vill stay right here und make sure hyu iz nize und comfortable und relatively unmolested.

[Blinks owlishly and nods, curling into Maxim and nuzzling the crook of his neck as well.]

'Kay... [Blinks eyes open, frowning.] Wait, did you say 'relatively unmolested'?

[He's taking advantage of the fact that his brothers aren't on the train, and wandering around on it. At first, he doesn't realise it's Bruce lying there, but he'd recognise that mess of hair anywhere and he slips into the compartment quietly, sliding the door shut behind him and scowling at it as if someone might be put off following him by the sheer force of expression.

Arthur has a small bag over his shoulder, which he sets down on the seats opposite before crouching in front of his friend and placing one hand on his arm. He hasn't changed into his uniform yet, and is wearing jeans and a white t-shirt]

Hey, Bruce.

[Bruce hasn't managed to completely settle so he's only dozing, quick to jerk awake when he's touched. His eyes are bloodshot and just a tiny bit greener than their usual slate colour, and he blinks, rubbing them as he yawns.]

Hey Arthur. Just got on?

[Oh! That's.. odd. Arthur shifts back and stands, then backs up to sit on the seat opposite, leaning forwards and bracing his forearms against his knees]

No, I've been here a little while. I can bugger off if you're after getting some kip.

[Loki recognizes Bruce, but thinks it best not to disturb him. He looks so tired and wait, is that bruising? Has someone hurt his friend?

He finds the trolly lady, buys a couple of chocolate frogs, and lays them next to Bruce's head]

[Bruce's nose twitches, and he blinks awake, glancing at the chocolates with a frown and then up at Loki, fumbling with his glasses.]

Hngh, is that... Loki?

[Not too familiar with the kid's scent, but when his glasses are on- yup, that's a Loki Odinson, and he smiles tiredly up at him.]

Hey, you made it.

[Loki smiles. He was trying to be so quiet too. Oh well.]

Yes. I apologize, I was trying not to wake you. You look as if you need the sleep.

How can you sleep when we're on a train going to a magic castle... I lost the ability to sleep days ago.

[Grunts and opens eyes to blink up at owlishly. Kid, who da fuq is you?

Covering a yawn, he sits up and smiles drowsily.]

Eh, I was like that my first year at Hogwarts, which I'm going to guess is this year for you?

Yeah. I've been waiting for today since December for today to happen. That's when I got my letter. It was pretty much like waiting forever.

What year are you now?

[ Equius is seeing this muggle-clothed boy curled up in a compartment, and it's a bit on the unusual side. So, he's going to be staring at the boy from the entrance with an incredibly scrutinizing gaze. No words yet, though. ]

[Bruce isn't so far gone in his sleeping not to sense someone's presence, and he keeps his eyes closed as he retorts:]

It's rude to stare.

[ He closes his eyes for a moment. Opens them again. Then he blinks a few times. Even though the boy can't see Equius trip up his staring. And he takes a step into the room. ]

You look decidedly unhappy. Most of the other passengers cannot contain themselves.
