Back to School Diagon Alley Festival! – Log 2

WHO: Anyone visiting Diagon Alley!
TONE: Festive and busy!
RATING: PG-13 for possible language
WHEN: August 23 & 24th
WHERE: Any and all of Diagon Alley
WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!
STATUS: Ongoing!
NOTE: Remember that this event is semi-open! Any HP AU character can have fun here, whether you're in the game or not, so have fun! If you missed the rush for the first log, here's a second chance to have fun, and start some of that September plotting!

[Why he'd ever agreed to help his sister pick out a pet, Dipper had no idea. The shop was huge! And typically he'd lost Mabel the second they'd entered. Great. Just great. Dipper gave a sigh before moving on from the huge purple toads, jamming his hands into his pockets as he moved around the store.]

[Somebody hit a growth spurt over the summer, and needs to be refitted. He looks miserable. Cheer him up?]

[Lovino was taking a break from his school shopping. He had finally managed to escape all three of his siblings and was currently sitting at one of the cafes. He was waiting for his food and slyly glancing at some of the pretty girls walking down the street.]

[There is a very large man with a very small gently purring blue puffskein nestled between his neck and shoulder. It's not actually his, but his son is off doing studenty things so he got stuck with it.

It may or may not be using its long puffskein tongue to probe your ears or nose while he isn't looking. Sorry. Zoing isn't very well-behaved. Say something, y/n?]

[Arthur should never be left in a bookshop by himself. He's in Flourish and Blotts, and from the look of the number of books he's carrying around he's been in there for quite a while.

It looks as if he's there alone. His family doesn't seem to be about, at least. Have at it!]

[Aaah, like a home away from home. Baljeet is actually beaming as he enters the store... But it fades away fairly quickly. They did not re-do their shelving system, did they?

They did. Oh no.

How is he supposed to find things now? What a mess.]

[Cimorene is taking a break in her school shopping for some delicious ice cream. It's not as good as her home-made chocolate mousse, but it'll do.

Feel free to come by and say hi! Anyone interested in buying books from her, she's brought them with and is totally ready to hand them over to you.]

[There are several places one could run into this delightfully charming young man. Why, you could be in the Apothecary, where he's carefully scrutinizing various animals preserved in jars, or purchasing questionable ingredients that are definitely not on the student list!]

[Or he could be in Flourish and Blotts, and wow, those are a lot of books related to the dark arts. He's not even attempting to hide them, either. And he's wearing an expression of perfect innocence as he's carrying them around, too.]

[You might also run into him as he's smugly emerging from Knockturn Alley, satchel bulging with... well... things. Some of which are pointy and kind of resemble medieval torture devices. Or medical tools. Some would claim there is hardly any difference.]

[And finally, but not least importantly, Twilfitt & Tattings, because someone takes this whole wizarding business a little too seriously and has a fondness for the sort of robes that flair out dramatically behind him when he walks.]

[His name is Eriq Slepner, and yes, he is kind of a melodramatic weirdo who is trying too hard to be "edgy" and "darque."]

[Gokudera was browsing through the Obscurus Books store trying to find what he needed. While he hated actually doing assignments, he had great pleasure in reading things from things such as his Herbology textbooks. However, he was not enjoying how crowded the store was at the moment. Too many people were too close for his comfort.]

[Herbert West, a rather tiny sixth year boy who carries himself like he thinks he's a professor, has out an enormous list as he peruses the apothecary, his eyes narrowed behind his large glasses. He's shaking his head in annoyance and muttering to himself, because of course they don't have acromantula venom, and why would the short sighted fools not carry unicorn blood? It's not like everything it's used for involves Dark magic!]

[This guy is certainly minding his business. And by that I mean he's pointedly staring at you with a judging but placid smile upon his face.

Actually, it's probably starting to get creepy.]

[Screw school supplies, Georgia is poking around the joke store. They had a ton of gag items that were a laugh. Maybe she could buy a biting teacup and try her legendary, "Oh Vati, I know how much you enjoy tea time, won't you have a sip?"]

[As usual, Twilight has left Flourish and Blotts with more books than she can possibly carry. But she is carrying them somehow, however precariously. Seems like her arms are a lot stronger than they look.]

[Having decided that Tony's not the best to depend on for mail--great cat though he is--Alfred's decided he'll buy his mother an owl so that their correspondence is more...uniform. And so that Alfred doesn't have to ask to borrow a classmate's owl during the year.

He's looking over all the bird, trying to find one that suited the family, not just himself, and decides on a handsome barn owl, paying for it and grinning as he takes his new buddy and gives him a look over. He's never owned an owl, this is exciting!]

Now what're we going to call you~?

[Victoria has already bought all her school books. So now she finds herself in the wizarding fiction section looking for something she can read in her spare time.]

[There's not much about a very tall, very busty woman that isn't noticeable.

Especially when she's wearing Muggle clothes in the middle of Diagon Alley.]

[The place was noisy but that wasn't a real bother. The smell was something else. He wrinkled his nose as he walked through the shop looking at the different animals in their cages.

The owls did catch his interest and he knew how useful they could be but he wasn't sure how he actually felt about owning one.]
