Back to School Diagon Alley Festival! – Log 2

WHO: Anyone visiting Diagon Alley!
TONE: Festive and busy!

WHEN: August 23 & 24th
WHERE: Any and all of Diagon Alley
WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!
STATUS: Ongoing!
NOTE: Remember that this event is semi-open! Any HP AU character can have fun here, whether you're in the game or not, so have fun! If you missed the rush for the first log, here's a second chance to have fun, and start some of that September plotting!

I mean, yes, they are sharp enough, I suppose, but really, it's not like you can just - [He grabs the artificial leech, poking it in Oggie's direction] - thrust them out and do some damage. Shopping... [He shrugs one shoulder, giving Oggie a hesitant kind of scowl. He doesn't like this question. The Jaeger is likely to take his utter lack of plans as an invitation to socialize.]

[He thinks so too.]

[Eriq does his best not to pay any attention to Oggie as he heads towards Flourish and Blotts. It's not hard, considering the crowd, and by the time he reaches the store, he's kind of forgotten about him. So he just saunters right in and goes straight to his favorite section]

[Oggie continues to follow. He lets Eriq browse in peace for a few minutes. Then, suddenly:] So is hyu lookink for de realistic schtuff or de trashy vuns?

[He gives himself a small moment of embarrassment before he takes a deep breath and turns to glower at the other boy]

There is no such thing as a "trashy" book.

[He pokes at a book that appears to be part of a series.] Cousin Svetka reads dese. Dey iz not sometink hyu vant pipple to catch hyu readink, heh. [If only because of the lurid covers.]

[Speaking of lurid covers, Eriq is going to go against what he said about not hitting things with books and smack one of them into Oggie's face.]

[Jaegers have a strange instinctual response to getting hit, sadly; enjoy that fist coming at your face, Eriq.]

[And then Eriq was on the floor, clutching his bloody nose because he's a delicate flower and Oggie is a horrible brute.]

[Oggie looks down at Eriq blandly, then nudges him with a foot.] Ho get op, hyu looks ridiculous.

[The shoppers nearest the boys have gone quiet and are edging away.]

[No, he's not going to get up. Well, he'll sit up, but otherwise he's perfectly content with shrieking from the floor.]
