WHERE: Any and all of Diagon Alley
WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!
STATUS: Ongoing!
NOTE: Remember that this event is semi-open! Any HP AU character can have fun here, whether you're in the game or not, so have fun! If you missed the rush for the first log, here's a second chance to have fun, and start some of that September plotting!

[She nods slightly, getting caught up in his infatuation.]

He does have a beautiful face when he smiles.

[She blinks and then remembers she's trying to be cross with him. She gives a small smile.]

However, I almost always get to see him with a smile on his face. He's even rather affectionate to me as well.

[Yes, she's trying to make him jealous so he stops looking so sweet.]

...You're lucky, hun. You get to see him happy. You make him happy.

You should keep making him happy.

[Yes, he's jealous. Yes, it shows on his face. But he's actually sort of happy too, that someone's able to make Arthur smile and be merry when he deserves to be.]

[Okay, now she feels a little bad.]

It's something I'll never stop doing. Which is why I don't trust you.

[Her face goes serious. Because really this is her whole issue with Alfred. That and because he's a loud.]

If I thought it was going to be that easy, I wouldn't be wasting my time with you here. I wouldn't be wasting my time with any of this, it's too damn tedious.

I want to get you to trust me. So I'll do what it takes. And I know it takes more than tea to do it.

[Speaking of, that was when they were finally served. thank god, he could use the coffee.]

Well it's good to know that you think spending time with me is tedious.

[She starts putting her tea, sugar, and milk into her cup and stirs it.]

Don't twist my words. I mean this is tedious for something that might come off as a practical joke. Do you really want to waste the time of day with me if not for the sake of making sure I'm not gonna hurt Arthur?

I think we could get along under better circumstances. But now we're circling, and you know it.

[nobodyscrumpet]

It's not circling. It's being cautious.

[She sips her tea and watches Alfred with a thoughtful expression.]

Tell me.

What would you do, for the chance for Arthur to smile at you? Without snapping at you by the way.

[He's not even touching his drink yet. He's seriously thinking about this. Not that he has to think hard, but he's determined about it.]

I'd do just about anything but turn away. I want to be able to see him and be the reason he's smiling rather than the reason he's glaring mad. I wanna be a source of happiness, not strife.

I ain't got no pride to stop me from doin' what needs doin'.

[After another long sip of tea while she thinks, Victoria fidgets slightly.]

Well then. I have a proposition for you.

[She pauses then adds hastily.]

Now you must understand that I'm doing this for Arthur. I would never suggest this sort of thing otherwise. Because really, it's unorthodox and, impolite to think about. Because really it's right silly. But it's my job to look out for Arthur, and this is possibly the best option for any positive outcome.

[Yes, she's rambling, because her idea is a little uncomfortable to her. She does believe it's for the best though.]

Well what's the idea then? Don't keep me in suspense over it. And I'm all about understanding your position, so don't worry about feeling weird around me. Trust me, this isn't exactly what I thought I'd be doing. Then again I never figured I'd fall in love with Arthur or nothin' either, and, well. That happened.

[She gives a big sigh.]

Spend more time with me...
Arthur and I are very much alike, so I'm good practice...
A-And it benefits us. I find out if you are worth Arthur's time, and if Arthur sees you spending time with me, you'll get into his good graces.

[She seems rather uncomfortable about the idea, but mostly due to the fact that she doesn't know Alfred enough to suggest something like this. But she knows it's the best course of action.]

Well I'm sure you are, you're cousins after all.

Besides which, I'd really rather like to get to know you better. Getting into his good graces would be cool, but maybe getting into yours won't be so bad either. Who knows, maybe we can turn out to be friends if we just gave it a chance.

[He smiles a little sheepishly.]

If you wanna give it a go, I'd be happy to try and spend time around you. I'm not a complete arse, I can be nice. But I want you to be comfortable with it too...not just for me, or for Arthur. That make sense? I dont' want you stressin', and you already look stressy over it.

[nobodyscrumpet]

[She blinks at him a little, looking confused.]

You want to be my friend?

[She puffs up her cheeks in a pout and straightens the table cloth at him]

I am not Stressy, I'm just... Out of my element. Mumsie wants me to socialise and make more friends, so this is good for me too.

Yeah, why not? Being friends would be cool, I think. I like making friends, not enemies. And don't worry about bein' outta yer element. We both are. I'm rubbish at dealing with people in a way that ain't gonna bother 'em, and you're not a socialite.

Let's tackle it together, whaddya say?
