Now, if you'll excuse me... [he will just pick that book Herbert objects to so much back up and add it back to his stack. Anything that includes sex as a cure for anything has GOT to be good for a laugh.
And a wank, but he pretends that he's above such things.]no subject
Oh, yes, please excuse me for interrupting your serious and valuable research efforts. [snippily, then looking down at his own slim stack of required books with a scowl]
no subject
You know I'll share them with you, right? [Wow, he really did just blurt that out. Awkward.]
no subject
I just told you that book was rubbish, why on earth would I want to read it? [flustered and turning a bit red, not looking at Eriq]
no subject
[They definitely don't appreciate his Goliath Birdeater tarantula.]
[
These problems are completely unrelated]Because a laugh isn't going to kill you. And besides, you did add Arcturo's. That one's not hardly rubbish at all.

That is an excellent text, thank you very much! Very useful, and he includes theory and usage that other authors so short-sightedly leave out because of the 'implications'. [making annoyed air quotes - what he actually means to say is 'Thank you, Eriq, you are a good friend,' but probably some reading between the lines is going to be necessary here.] I used it for two essays and some personal research last year.

If it meets your high standards, I simply MUST read it, then. [small, condescending eyeroll] Are there any other texts you INSIST that I must peruse instead of wasting my time on casual japes and tomfoolery?

The boy does actually smile when he talks about books, exposing the little gap between his two front teeth. It's quite odd.]
no subject
And also that gap is cute.So he patiently waits for the other boy to finish his ramble, only half-paying attention, even when he mentions the books relevant to his interest because-]While that's all very nice, Herbert, what I meant was, "Go grab those books for me so that I may add them to my stack to be purchased."

[He'll be patient. For a bit.]
Can you hurry up? These aren't exactly feathers I'm carrying.

[Never mind that Eriq's built like a skeleton. And he's not going to get all the ones he wants, just the ones he thinks will be useful to the other boy, as well. Okay, well, maybe one that Eriq wouldn't care about. But he should read it anyway because IT'S REALLY GOOD.]
no subject
[More like half a skeleton. Or one that's been really, really stretched out.]
And they're still heavy. You're helping me carry all of these back to Da's car.
