Yay camp!

WHAT: First two days of camp! Time to get settled in and explore what's around.
STATUS: ONGOING

The camp isn't too different from any other camp. Cabins where people will stay, a space for a bonfire, a nearby lake for everyone to swim in, and of course, a thick morning mist all around the camp, because it's pretty early in the morning.

Still! There's stuff to do already. Those beds won't assign themselves, nor will those bags unpack themselves. Like it's just been said, there's no marked beds, so it's up to each and every one of you to work out the sleeping arrangements yourselves.

But once you're done, you're free to roam around, take a swim, climb a tree, explore the woods, and other assorted camp activities you do when you have free time.

[Dave is basically going to pick out a top bunk and then attempt to strategically position John, Dirk, Roxy, Jade, and other such people who matter to him in the beds around his.

And then flop over, pull the blankets up to his nose, and sleep until noon. Fuck you.]

[Roxy has dibs on the top bunk. Suck it, unknown bunk mate. She She plops her things (a suitcase filled with clothes and a second bag Bro shoved at her filled with lady items just in case) on top of the trunk at the end of the bottom bunk then climbs up to the top bed.

Now she plays the waiting game.]

_{[Dirk brought a smuppet with him. Two of them, actually. Bro isn't going to miss them, probably. So after peeking out from under his nearby bottom bunk, he chucks one at her. Just because.]}

[Alfred's just going to toss his things aside and JUMP into the bottom bunk that Arthur had claimed a minute or so prior, pushing his bag out of the way and just staring up at him with such a shit-eating grin on his face.]

I guess this is gonna be some fun after all!

[Loki practically bounces into the cabin and tosses his bag onto the bottom of one of the bunks.]

[So Coraline decided to do this camp thing at the last minute. She sets her broom up carefully beside the bed and tosses her hastily-packed duffle bag on a bottom bunk, plops down and immediately winces.]

"Oh man, this thing is hard as a rock..."

[Sollux entered the cabin lazily, after most people had entered, and simply settled down on the bottom floor of a nearby bunk, whipped out a comic book, crossed his legs and shut himself off from the horde of people surrounding him.]

[Sollux that's not how camping works. Steve glances over at him from the neighboring bunk, raising an eyebrow.]

Are you going to read the whole camp?

[Steve has unpacked his things, claimed his bunk, and now he's wandering through the camp. He winds up sitting underneath a tree, sketchbook on his knees and a pencil in his hands. The scenery is amazing, and he wants to capture it.]

[HI, Steve, hi. You now have a purple haired boy sprawled across your back, arms wrapped loosely around your neck as he peers over your shoulder] Vat hyu doink~?

[Hey, hey, should you even be out here? Are you sure you're not gonna like, get bit by a mosquito and get malaria or something?]

[Shinra's going to claim that bed over there in the corner and unpack his things as quickly as possible so he can start exploring the camp, which is new and unfamiliar, so it must be exciting. That is what logic dictates.]

[Loki is also wandering around when he bumps into Shinra. Literally bumps into him. Due to his small size, he stumbles back a bit.]

[Van is really excited! He doesn't often go camping -- his job back home is to house-sit while the Jaegers and Heterodynes go off and have adventures in all the fun places. He's brought a neatly-packed bag with all the essentials, and has even gone so far as to leave his hair potions at home. He doesn't want to waste the whole experience doing his hair, and though he knows he'll probably regret it a few days into the week, he is determined to keep to it.

He selects a top bunk and starts setting up his things. Bunk poachers beware -- Maxim has called dibs on the bottom and will probably ferociously defend his claim.

Of course, now he's too excited to sleep, so he's going to get and early start on some of that summer homework.

[Defending his territory? Really Van? Really? Well, maybe later. Right now, he has more important priorities.]

[Like climbing up into your bunk and making sure you don't get anything done]

[Vriska is shoving her baggage under her lower bunk bed, making sure to pick a bed against the wall. Despite the positive atmosphere she looks a little less than chiper. Maybe it's just because it's early?]

[You know what Vriska needs? She need a smore. Smores make everything better, and Maxim has totally started a fire in the pit for the sole purpose of making and handing out smores.]

Hyu know, pretty gorls shouldn't frown. It spoils dere looks und makes dem grow old before dere time.

[He winks at her, holding out the smore invitingly]

[She managed to find a bunk towards the back, claiming the top before Amelia swooped in and stole it. If Amelia was even going to bunk with her. A book lies open across her pillow and she's laying on her stomach with her chin in her hands and her feet propped on the back rail of the bed. For once it's not a proper textbook, but a guide to Quidditch. Someone plans to try out for the team next year. Any free time she can't spend on homework or on a proper broom is going to be spent with her nose in this book.

Of course camp is a hectic place and she glances up every once in a while. You never know what might get tossed around in this sea of firsties and up.]

[Van is in a top bunk not too far away, in pretty much exactly the same position. He looks up and happens to catch her eye. Have a wave, Maddie? Book-readers at camp unite!]

[You guys have the worst priorities. Okay, yeah, he threw his stuff in the cabin on the end, but he didn't really pay attention to exactly where. He's actually kind of disappointed they're in cabins, and not in tents. You call this camping? He calls this easy living.]

[Time to introduce the city kids to some real nature. He might be dressed in tight, bright clothes, but within minutes of arrival, he can be found happily kneeling in the mud by the lake, wicked grin plastered on his face]

[Eventually, some poor kid is going to find a frog in their bunk. He is not sorry]

[Shinra's going to creep over as stealthily as he can -which isn't very stealthily at all, but he tries- and crouch down next to Maxim before turning towards him and whispering excitedly.]

Can you mimic a frog call? That would probably be more effective.

[Amelia loves camp! Amelia loves camp because the air is fresh and there are birds and trees and squirrels and thinks, and hiking trails, and swimming! She also loves camp because she can wear her short shorts and tie up her t-shirts and no one can give her a hard time about "dress code."

She's currently sitting on a picnic table, chatting up one of the dreamy counselors. (He is 20. Swoon.) Feel free to interrupt!]

[Thor is more mud than boy right now. He's just going to sit in the small space between her and the counselor and smile, making the whole moment uncomfortable.]

[Gamzee staked out a bottom bunk, shoved his bag underneath, stuck in his earbuds for his MP3 player, and promptly accidentally fell asleep. Oops.]

Hi Gamzee! I didn't know you were coming to camp too! Have you ever been to a summer camp before? This is my first time attending one, so I'm not really sure of what to expect. Do you want to explore the campground? I think that might be-- Oh! I'm sorry! Were you asleep?

[Thor is kind of everywhere at once right now! He loves the great outdoors but he's also enjoying climing the bunk beds. If you're anywhere in particular you can see Thor hanging off trees, beds or just rolling around in the mud.]

[Without any sort of subtlety or discretion, Maxim and Gamzee just ran to the lake and started shucking off their clothes in plain sight of the entire camp.]

[Who wants to come join them?]

[Thor sees you taking your clothes off, HDU. He is going to jog over and start rolling his shirt up his chest.]

Are we going swimming?

[Tony stands out in the middle of all the cabins, and just stares about. He doesn't know if he actually wants to be here at all. Cabins in the middle of no where generally has less technology than a castle in the middle of no where.]

Well, this'll be something.

[Arthur's stood a little way behind him, arms folded and looking a little ruffled]

<sub>[Dirk is settled in as much as he's going to. He still isn't sure what to think of this whole backwoods wilderness thing, so after pulling out his mobile and seeing yes, he still has no signal here, he drags himself off of the bottom bunk and tentatively walks outside and looks around.

[Probably about as out of place as Arthur looks. Here, have an awkwardly gangly sixteen year old sitting up in a tree not far away from where Dirk is standing]

[Well, well, well. Guess who is already sneaking away from the campsite? It's fun to be amongst so many of her friends at once and the cabins help in that, but she still think it would have been better if they had just been tossed out into the wild with nothing but the clothes on their back. Wandering aimlessly through forest is nothing new to her

She may or may not have dragged some poor hapless soul along with her. Or perhaps she came across another wild spirit who enjoys the freedom the wilderness bring. Who knows.]

[Alfred's got a similar mentality, and he's actually a little ahead of her, so when she shows up near the tree he's climbed, he waves at her with a grin.]

[Katniss is having fun with her bow and arrows. She's shooting at trees or anything else she can shoot at that isn't alive.]

[Natasha is sitting on a bench reading a book, or is she? She's really just listening to everything going on and observing all the silly antics going around.]

[She's sitting off a little bit from Natasha, her own journal open in her lap. Without looking over at her:] Is it a boring book?

[Scenario A; There seems to be so much to do! Tavros isn't sure where to begin, so he's just kind of standing around outside of the cabins looking around and not really doing much! He's pretty content to just people watch at the moment.]

[Scenario B; Tavros is in the cabins, looking around. He's never... slept in a cabin before, or ever really gone camping. So this is a new experience. Does he just... pick a bed, or? Someone help him out, he's not sure what to do here.]

[Scenario C; Tavros is sitting at the edge of the dock, swishing his feet in the water lightly, watching as other people swim around and have fun.]

[Lovino was literally the last one to arrive, so obviously there isn't very many choices for him to pick. God damn it why did his little brother have to cling to him to much while he was getting ready to leave. Now what the hell is he going to do!]
