WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!

[Bruce is doing his best to ignore the rotten cabbage and egg smell as he examines some rather exotic ingredients that he's read about but doesn't actually need for classes.]

Aren't you in the wrong store for an animal trap?

[Doesn't even jump, still looking over what appears to be bottled horse eyes, except they're glowing faintly.]

Aren't you in the wrong store to hit on girls? You might try the candy shop down the street.

You look like a girl from behind.

[Tony pulls at a strand of hair that Bruce has sitting at the lower part of the back of his head playfully.]

Seriously, haven't you thought of getting a hair cut since New York? Or was the experience just so mind blowing you thought you'd grow your hair for prosperity? A permanent reminder of the best trip to ever have over summer.

[Flushes a bit at the touch and ducks his head, jerking the lock of hair out of Tony's hand. He's still having trouble getting over how he feels about Tony, and the last thing he wants is for the idiot to find out that his best pal has a man crush on him.

Oh boy.]

As if. I just haven't had the time to bother and no one's said anything about it - not all of us spend hours primping in front of the mirror like you do.

[arrogantalloy]

[He raises an eyebrow and watches him for a moment.]

Only half an hour.

[He sounds a little distracted as if he's trying to figure out that reaction, then shrugs it off.]

That would be because your mom loves you and doesn't care how much like the Dullux dog you're starting to become. And well, the look does kind of work for you.

That or mom just doesn't see me out and about too much since she's busy keeping an eye on grandpa, and dad doesn't care how scruffy I look.

[His flush fades quickly and he throws an unamused look at Tony over his shoulder.]

Keep up the dog jokes and one of these days I'll steal your things and take them for chew toys during the time of the month.

[Natasha is just grabbing some less exotic ingredients for class near the older Ravenclaw.]

They should give out nose plugs when people enter.

[He smiles in greeting and chuckles.]

That or try airing out the place once in a while. I swear I think a rat died in here a few hundred years ago and they didn't bottle it up.

It must have been a rat the size of a troll.

Or maybe the size of a small dog - even small things can kick up quite the stench.

That explains why half the closets in Hogwarts smell.

[So Mamma may have given Maxim a shopping list of hard to get English ingredients. Maxim might just be taking the initiative to get them without being asked! Either way, he's in the apothecary, he's not far from Bruce, going through herbs and animal parts with an appraising eye.]

[Bruce starts backing away from the shelves without concentrating on where he's going, still avidly staring at all the strange ingredients, and as such ends up bumping into Maxim.

He turns with a start and stammers:]

Oh geez, I'm sorry-

[Maxim doesn't even falter. In a family where bodyslams are an acceptable form of greeting, you either get used to be bumped, or you're doomed to forever being thrown to the floor.]

Iz no vorry, sveethott. [He chuckles, turning to Bruce with smile, brushing a bit of hair from his eyes] Voz chust a leedle luff tap, yah? [He winks, bumping his hip against the other boy]

[O... kay, Bruce needs a moment to translate what he just said into English and he's still a bit stuck on what 'sveethott' is! In any case, he smiles and ducks his head at the hip bump.]

Still, I should've watched where I was going.

[Aawwwww, isn't that sweet, he's got a blusher on his hands!]

[Time to make his head explode.]

[With a flick of his hair, he steps closer to Bruce, cocking his hips forward] Oh dollink, really, iz no problem! Hyu ken bump into me eny time hyu vants.

[Bruce just. Blinks. And uh. Backs up, eyes wide and is he blushing? His cheeks feel a bit hot, what, uh, seriously, are you hitting on him? Why would you do that???]

Uh, I ah... okay?

Oh, hey motherfucker, that is some good shit if you are all about the bewildering draughts and confusion concoctions!

[Glances up, smiling a bit.]

Yeah? How about for some industrial strength calming draughts?

[mo_cara]

Oh, nah, that's not what you want then! You'll be wanting that- [Gamzee stops, brow furrowing, then he cocks his head to the side like a dog. He's excellent in Potions, but not always so good with vocabulary ... ]

The brown curly ones what smell like old nuts!

[Bruce just blinks.

And blinks.

... And cautiously sniffs in the direction of the jars before grabbing one from behind a couple that contains the herbs Gamzee was talking about.

Ah, perks of werewolf nose.]

Thems it! [exclaims, then leans in and peers at Bruce's nose with interest] Damn, but you got one fine sniffer up in your face there!

[Ducks his head with a wry looking smile, idly examining the jar.]

Not really, but I guess it has it's uses sometimes.
