WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!
STATUS: Ongoing!

Oh, nah, that's not what you want then! You'll be wanting that- [Gamzee stops, brow furrowing, then he cocks his head to the side like a dog. He's excellent in Potions, but not always so good with vocabulary ... ]

[Bruce just blinks.

... And cautiously sniffs in the direction of the jars before grabbing one from behind a couple that contains the herbs Gamzee was talking about.

Thems it! [exclaims, then leans in and peers at Bruce's nose with interest] Damn, but you got one fine sniffer up in your face there!

[Ducks his head with a wry looking smile, idly examining the jar.]

Not really, but I guess it has it's uses sometimes.

[mo_cara]

I can't smell nothing through glass. [points out. The 'curly' things in the jar he found appear to be roots of some sort, and they do have a sort of earthy, nutty smell, though it's faint and dusty, and just a little off, probably the 'old' the Slytherin was walking about.] That what you motherfuckers up ahead them years is making?

[He lifts the bottle and sniffs at the cap, sneezing a bit at the dusty 'off' scent. Rubbing his nose, he just shakes his head with a small smile.]

Nah, we're still doing fairly basic potions - this is more for me to experiment with in my free time.

[mo_cara]

Oh ... you be getting your nervous on a lot? [curiously] I thought you'd all be liking school, on account of you being one of them big pan types.

[greenmoonrising]

I like school well enough but well... you know, sometimes things get to you and you need a quick fix to calm down. [Shrugs.]

[mo_cara]

[wide eyes at Bruce] I know exactly what the motherfuck you be saying. Exactly. I know lots of shit that'll do that, too! Potions, and some other stuff, too.

[greenmoonrising]

[Blinks at innocently.]

Really? Think you could suggest me some things to try out this year?

[mo_cara]

[Woah, asked for his advice on mellowing out! Sweet!] Yeah, I could even make you up some shit if you be wanting. I like to brew.

[BEAMING, not knowing what he's getting himself into!]

That would be awesome! I love playing around with potions, so it'll be cool to see what kind of stuff you make as well.

[mo_cara]

I can show you! I ain't always remembering how I do it until I'm actually all up and doing it, so sometimes that's easier. [admits] And then sometimes I be getting ideas in the middle of shit and adding things, too.

I get like that too! [Excuse him while he has a moment of glee at the prospect of a potions partner in crime.]

I set up an enchanted quill and parchment while I'm working since I talk out loud, so some of my stuff get's recorded one way or another.

[mo_cara]

Oh, daaaamn, that's all big brained of you! I guess that's why you be one of them crow's feets; I never even thought of doing that. [Though it might be useless for Gamzee, and would likely end up with parchments filled with meandering ramblings about other subjects entirely.] I just kind of got to be all remembering by doing, 'cause otherwise it just be falling out through the holes in my pan.

Not really - my dad suggested it after I melted his table by accident when trying to take notes by hand while stirring.

[Chuckles sheepishly and ducks his head with embarrassment.]

[mo_cara]

I nearly all up and did that once. [nodding in sage understanding] You got to keep your motherfuckin' eyes on the game. But I probably can't do shit for awhile, because I got detention for a month.

[greenmoonrising]

Aw man that sucks. [Gives a sympathetic look and pat on the shoulder.]

Hopefully if it's for the full month they'll just have you doing things for an hour each night rather than the whole night?

[mo_cara]

I don't know. It's with Professor Donoghue, and I think he might hate me because I think Eridan has a nice ass. [sighs] I guess I'll be finding out.

[greenmoonrising]

I doubt he hates you... [Hesitates and pats Gamzee on the shoulder.]

He's protective of his son, that's all.

[mo_cara]

Well, it ain't like I ever touched his ass. I wouldn't do that unless a brother asked me to. [Because, you know, if a friend asks you to touch their butt, you kind of have to.] And his da's got a nice one, too! But I guess all noticing and shit is kind of motherfuckin' foul to them. [morosely]

Hm, well, Eridan is a bit young, so I guess the Professor's just worried you might take it beyond just noticing and be a bit more hands-on?

I mean, Eridan's gonna grow up someday, and his father's going to have to deal with the fact that, like it or not, his son's going to have sex. Maybe with guys. [Shrugs and squeezes hand on shoulder gently.] He's just being a protective old man, that's all.

[mo_cara]

He don't even like dudes! He ain't gonna be doing nothing with no motherfuckers, just chicas, and I wouldn't- [Gamzee bites his tongue, frowning - he's already made that point, and he wonders if Bruce thinks the same thing about him. That he'd do anything someone didn't want. It makes him feel a little sad that he's ever even given that impression.]

But anyway, I got me a month detention for it, so I guess he be protecting Eridan by keeping me away from him.

[greenmoonrising]

[Tilts head at the frown and answers slowly:]

I know you wouldn't force yourself on him, calm down. But like I said, he might end up fooling around with guys because let's face it - he's still pretty young.

[Hesitates and shrugs before adding:]

I didn't know I liked guys until really recently, and I'm 16.

[Glances to the side and rubs the back of his neck before giving Gamzee a sympathetic look.]

A month sucks, but I doubt he's doing it to keep you away from his son. I mean, he gave Maxim the same amount of detention didn't he?

[mo_cara]

Yeah, but Maxim's always making out with everyone, he'd probably make out with Eridan, too. [Gamzee points out, then cocks to his head to one side.] You like dudes? What about girls?
