Back to School Diagon Alley Festival! – Log 1

WHO: Anyone visiting Diagon Alley!

WHERE: Any and all of Diagon Alley
WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!
STATUS: Ongoing!
NOTE: Remember that this event is semi-open! Any HP AU character can have fun here, whether you're in the game or not, so have fun!

[School shopping later. Ice cream now!]

[There's a small Asian girl with an owl on her head trying to get the woman with her to pay attention and help her sort through the books she wants and discover if they come in braille. The woman keeps getting distracted by. every. fucking. thing.]

[While her darling daughter is off collecting the books she needs for the new school year, Mom is over in the astronomy section on the look out for anything she doesn't already own.]

[Whoops,he's misplaced his kids. And his wife. And his boyfriend.

Sal is just going to be ducking through crowds and peeking into various shops trying to find his family now, kthx.]

[There's a tiny blonde girl trying out different wands. She's already made a candle explode and turned the tips of her hair pink. This trip is already going swimmingly.]

[Ms. Babcock, employee of the high rankings of the ministry, wielder of a gigantic salary, and most of all, local pain in the ass enjoyed walking through Diagon Alley to watch the hopeless youngins flail about and possibly paying for a random kid's books, to show off her money and poorly attempt to improve her public image.]

( Anyone remember this derpy Spaniard? Well, if you don't, this former Hogwarts teacher is idling along Diagon Alley, looking in shop windows or sitting down for a cup of much needed coffee. He's still as oblivious as he used to be, but he might seem a bit antsy about something on his arm. And having some people give him nasty looks. Feel free to give him one, too. )

[ It looks like... well, he wouldn't look like a baby teacher to you, not really. But this is sixteen-year-old Thobari. He's happy and cheery and awkward and nerdy and holding a stack of books that is teetering dangerously out of hands. ]

[ Good thing his grandfather's nearby, ready to help him carry all that stuff. Or he will be, once he finishes buying whatever terrible joke things that he's going to sneak into his grandson's suitcase. ]

[ Yeah, Thobari's still a loser, even as a kid. Hope he doesn't bump into anyone on his way out... ]

[Guess who's eyeballing that new Fireball. Guess. Starts with an S R.]

_{[Whelp. Someone is in need of a new owl. Don't ask him what happened to his last one; the story is soooo tragic. And maybe stupid. Regardless, Dean's looking around at the owls, most definitely looking for the one that's most badass looking.]}

_{[You may or may not have seen this sixth year before. He's that really tall one who always seems like he's too serious but that might be because he takes his education exactly that way. Seriously. That's not to say that Ludwig is all work and no play. He's capable of having fun, when the the timing is appropriate.

He's making his way though Diagon Alley leisurely, purchasing new school supplies as needed. Come say hi. He won't bite.]}

[Why did today of all days have to be anywhere near hot. Marceline is hiding out in the book store of all things, wide brimmed sunhat covering her head and shoulders while a pair of elbow-length gloves cover her arms, a neckerchief around her neck. She's reclining on the banister at the top of the staircase, reading a book with the stick end of a blood pop hanging out of her mouth.]

[Someone is certainly excited to be in the book store. Sam's picking up every book he can find, turning them over in his hand, skimming a few pages, and then putting them back right where they came from. He looks more and more sad with each book he puts back, but the cycle will repeat until someone stops him.]

[Shiemi is browsing the shelves for something to treat her little friend, a teddy bear hamster named Nii, who is currently sitting in between the folds of her kimono. She sticks out a little because of her attire, but she doesn't seem to notice.]

Let's see... Maybe a new toy? You've almost chewed through the last one I got you...

[Rapunzel is always a little overwhelmed - in a good way - with Diagon Alley. There's so much to see, and Mother got so involved in a conversation that she told the girl to go her "some of her little friends". This was a delight! She's aiming to get to the Magical Menagerie, but there's plenty of places to catch her in-between.]

[With her parents busy chatting with each other as they checked her school books, Ib was completely happy to be left out of the conversation. She was more interested in capturing the sights of Diagon Alley, which is why she has a notebook out and is currently drawing out one of the nearby shops.

Her parents, realizing that they had forgotten one more book, told Ib to stay still at the cafe and not move while they picked it up. But really, they needn't tell her twice; she's already focused on her work again.]

[Baljeet is looking over the rats very intently; the fourth year has heard the rats sold here have above-average intelligence. That's impressive, certainly, and having a pet would be nice...]

[Um yeah no she's separated from her parents and her twin brother she's gonna go EVERYWHERE she wants to. She IS getting her stuff together, just...

Distractions!]

[With her new Quidditch supplies in hand (and every other necessary school things), Applejack is taking the chance to look around Diagon Alley while Big Mac takes Apple Bloom to get ice cream, tilting her cowboy hat and familiarizing herself with the street after spending most of the summer in the USA.]

[Loki is derping around Diagon Alley, being generally cute/mischievous/inquisitive. He loves meeting new people, so talk to him.

Some may notice he is staying VERY far away from the entrance to Knockturn Alley, eyeing it warily whenever he is forced to pass it.]

[ Oh, it's a fifteen-year-old Masamune. That eyepatch really does make you look like a pirate, kid. Especially with the angry grumbling he's doing. His guardian (who looks kind of like a Yakuza... well, but in wizarding robes) looks like he has his hands full. ]

I know I already got one. But I need six! Tch! This is so lame. I'm missing like, two more...

[ Yes, he wants six wands. What of it? ]

[Kate is sitting at a cafe, posture completely perfect. Really, she looks like she should relax a bit, but she's in a strange place (even though this is her fifth year going to the Alley), and she needs to be on the defensive.

Such is the life of a military brat.]

Ve~ cuuute~! [Don't mind the Hufflepuff 5th year pressing her face against the window of Eeylops Owl Emporium and making a fool of herself with awful imitations of hooting noises. If she looks all the more like a fool for bouncing around on the spot and squealing about the cuteness of the various animals when she isn't too busy hooting, well that is to be expected from Felicia.]

[There is a slightly worked up, tiny thing of an Italian woman, barely taller than some of the students trying to make her way through the crowds. They should have come earlier, or they should have simply ordered through the post because this is insane. She's already lost her three siblings, and even if they are in their teens, she's the oldest. She's supposed to keep an eye on them.

God she's almost looking forward to teaching. At least then the responsibility her siblings will fall into the hands of others for the most of the time.

But for now she's going to keep squeezing through the crowd, calling out in Italian as she tries to find them]

[Someone's currently taking a lunch break! He's got a small collection of supplies already bought, but man the day's young, he'll get his supplies sooner or later.

Just not right now.]
