Back to School Diagon Alley Festival! – Log 1

WHO: Anyone visiting Diagon Alley!
TONE: Festive and busy!
RATING: PG-13 for possible language
WHEN: August 20 through 22
WHERE: Any and all of Diagon Alley
WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!
STATUS: Ongoing!
NOTE: Remember that this event is semi-open! Any HP AU character can have fun here, whether you're in the game or not, so have fun!

[Having lost her husband and her children somewhere in the crowd, Dierdre ducked into the Menagerie. She's pretty sure they'd know to look for her here and she's happily engrossed in a talking with a shopkeeper. She probably looks like one herself, with her two headed kneazel draped over her shoulder, grooming himself. Don't hesitate to treat her like one]

[Tony isn't here for school supplies, that was gotten by Jarvis the moment the owl came to his house with the letter. No, Tony's here because he's after a new broom.
So for the moment he's looking over the ones in the window, while eating some packet blueberries.]

[ Whether you're in a shop or wandering the Alley itself, there's a chance you'll run into a boy who looks to be in the middle of his time at Hogwarts.

Maybe he's taking a break from all the walking, and is simply staring at the passerby. Or maybe he's in the middle of a particular shop, whether it's looking at textbooks, school supplies, brooms, or something else entirely. You might both bump into each other, because someone's not looking where they're going.

Or it could be something completely different still. ]

[The lanky pale boy with messy dark hair is sitting in a darker corner booth listening to the various musical acts that have appeared throughout the day while flipping through the text books he bought earlier that morning.]

[Dave sometimes wanders away from his family. Mostly because he's buttmad at Bro, and Dirk is gathering his own little herd of babies.]

[BOOKS. Oh my god books. Look at this tiny little nerd among all the books. It's like normal children in a candy store.

But with books.

Books.]

[Meenah, why are you bullying other kids into giving you their pocket money? Stop that.]

[Don't mind him. He is just casually browsing the shelves in search of the required supplies for fifth year potions. Why would you ever take issue with that? He is definitely not going to steal anything. Move along.]

[This sixth year is looking in the window sadly at all the brooms. If only he knew where Jenka and the school supplies money was! Or did Maxim have it? He can't remember. Or find anybody.]

[Miria is wandering up and down the street with an enormous grin on her face. She did not get any school supplies today. She spent all her money on ice cream, but she is perfectly happy with this. She knows her priorities.]

[Goblins. Seriously. What is their problem? This poor kid has been standing around (okay, he's technically not really poor), waiting for someone to just...help him, but. Apparently that's not happening any time soon, and he's not really sure what to do. This isn't like Muggle banks at all.

Someone go help the Muggleborn?]

[Bruce is doing his best to ignore the rotten cabbage and egg smell as he examines some rather exotic ingredients that he's read about but doesn't actually need for classes.]

[This muggleborn is used to diagon alley. He loves his parents but hey, a kid needs the delicious feel of occasional freedom. He has this obnoxious smile on his face as he peers into the stores. Don't you want to see why he looks so damn smug?]

[So this nerdy little girl is in some desperate need of some new papers and quills. Some ink, too. She doesn't know much about quills and parchment and blahblahblah because, well, she only ever uses them at Hogwarts.

So she's going to take a while to pick through the various bottles of inks. Feel free to approach and help!]

[This guy was helping his son pick out the best shit for his classes, but he decided to let him to wander off for the moment.

Currently, he's in the bookstore, trying not to be super obvious about glancing at the romance section. Right now he's got an incredibly boring looking textbook in his hands.]

[This place smells amazing. Thor, you might not want to put that near your nose.]

[Katniss is coming out of a shady shop with a bag full of things. Not evil things, but not the nicest stuff or the most legal stuff.]

Students may also bring, if they desire, an owl or a cat or a toad, [Norman rereads the last bit of his acceptance letter once more before taking a good, long look at the shop in front of him. it's a little...intimidating. in fact, everything about diagon alley is pretty intimidating and it definitely shows in the way he hunches his shoulders self-consciously.]

_{[Dirk has finished most of his shopping and is sitting at one of the outside tables with a cup of orange sorbet. For now, he's actually not as hyper and just content with people watching.]}
