[The Halls, probably near Slytherin dorms.]
[Nick has found himself a clean, empty patch in the hallway and he's making himself up a neat little one man casino. Currently he seems to be engaging in a game of solitaire, he's grumbling to himself as he does but he's actually pretty damn good at it. Honestly, he doesn't really look like he wants to be bothered, unless you happen to look like he could win some money off you. Or anything, really. Cards are more fun if you're winning against someone, afterall.]

[Out of Grounds]
[Nick is a model student. That's why he's out here lighting a smoke with his wand and hoping to God nobody catches him. It's a terrible habit, and he really should stop, but he sure as hell isn't going to appreciate being told. Or caught, for that matter.]

[Library]
[If you happen to be studying here and look like you have more than half a brain in your head, Nick is going to be seating himself in front of you and trying to coaxe you into doing his homework for him.]

[Oh, hey, look, it's one of the two Slytherin students that wears weird face paint - this is the noisier, apparently dumber one, who's also out her smoking rather moodily. He glances over at Nick when he shows up, and after a few seconds, he smiles lazily at the other boy, as if just now remember that's what he's supposed to do.]

[Nick doesn't return the smile, instead he just sort of stares at Gamzee for a long moment. He takes a drag, blowing smoke out the side of his mouth and raising his eyebrow.]

So I'm guessing the paint isn't flammable.

Clever guy. [He nods and just appreciates his smoke for a moment before looking at Gamzee from the corner of his eye.]

What's with..that [He gestures at his face as he speaks.] Anyway? There's gotta be something to it.

[Arthur definitely has more than half a brain in his head, and is scribbling away at his Charms homework when Nick sits down across from him.]

[He doesn't have to speak, and Arthur hasn't even looked up.]

[He aaaalmost wants to sink into his chair and sulk at that. Nope. Not gonna let that phase him.

He raises an eyebrow at Arthur, trying to be subtle about looking at what he's writing.]

[He glances up, flashes a crooked smirk, and not so subtly rolls up the parchment he's writing on.]

[Tony's at one of the tables, doing some research on information giving spells, and taking notes trying to work out how to augment and combine them. He's intermittently licking his lips or chewing on them.]

[Nick silently slips into the chair in front of him, trying to glance over at what he's writing. When he realises it isn't classwork, he slumps back into his chair and grunts for attention.]

[Smirking at the grunt he looks up.]

I do homework in class or in my dorm, how are you even still surprised?

[He closes the book.]

[It's probably pretty clear that Ellis has a Nick Sense. He just knows how to find him! At least most times. Especially when he really wants to. And today is one of those days! He doesn't have a particular reason for wanting to find Nick- mostly he's just really bored. So that's why he's just there, suddenly.]

[He rolls his eyes as Ellis greets him but quickly pulls what looks like a genuinely shocked face at the comment. He nearly drops his smoke, staring wide eyed at Ellis.]

Oh man, do you think so? Do you think they're going to send me packing?

[Nick's shocked face makes him feel a bit better, because if Nick is surprise, then that means he didn't know, right? Right. Nevermind the fact he's seen Nick do it before, probably. Which means he shouldn't believe him. But he does.]

Prolly! If ya get caught, I mean. So you might wanna put that out, alright? And I'll pretend I ain't ever saw ya doin' it in the first place.

[Nick is happily puffing away when he hears the strangest sounds approaching him. Zombies? God damn Ellis get out of his fucking head. Not zombies.

He turns and just. gapes. His smoke falling out of his mouth as he does. He stamps it out as he frantically backs away, pulling out his wand.]

Jesus Christ- I ain't got a fucking picnic! [He desperately tries to think of a spell to get rid of wild bears. He has...nothing. Should have paid attention in class.] Aw, shit.

[POUNCES and tackles him, growling into his face.]

[Marshall is doing his usual meandering around when he notices Nick sprawled out with a deck of cards. The vampire smiles to himself and goes and sits across from him and eyes his solitare set up.]

Solitare is awfully boring. Care to play something more interesting?

[Okay so, solitare is pretty boring, but Nick can't help scowling defensively up at Marshall.]

Sorta. You know the good thing about it, though? It's a one man game. [He rolls his eyes, but he takes the bait.] Got any recommendations, wise guy?

[Marshall ignores the the sarcasm but doesn't hesitate to dish out his own.]

Hey, if you'd rather...play with yourself that's fine. Personally I rather like poker..that's not so fun with just two people unless you play Texas Hold Em or Three Card Poker.
We could always play Spit or Blackjack too.
[He leans in and asks in a lower voice.]
So what kind of stakes are we talking here?

[Welp. Busted. But there's still a chance to save his ass here. He pulls the most confused, innocent face he can manage and looks up at Ezra curiously.]

You seem to be under the impression that I was born yesterday. You're not the first to pull this sort of trick and as unfortunate as it may be, I'm certain you'll not be the last.

Have you ever considered that people expend far more time and energy in the pursuit of laziness than they would if they just buckled down and got the work done? It's a very self-defeating habit.
