The best party ever
WHO: Everyone!
TONE: Partyrific
RATING: PG-13 for language
WHEN: February 14th, 8 PM and onward.
WHERE: Bro's office
WHAT: Bro has thrown a surprise party for Murdoc in his office and invited everyone.
STATUS: Ongoing! Feel free to use whichever format you want for tagging.
[Having a boyfriend whose birthday is on Valentine's day is beautiful. It's beautiful and Murdoc definitely doesn't understand why. But to Bro, it's beautiful. Because it means that when he throws Murdoc a surprise party, he can get away with using the most horrendous pink decorations that he possibly can. Of course, they're not all pink. Some are purple! The shade of purple that Murdoc likes the most. There are hearts hanging from the ceiling and there's a giant poster that says 'Happy Birthday Murman' hanging on the wall. In the corner there is a playpen set up for anyone who might have decided to bring their snakes. It was a spur of the moment decision and he isn't quite sure how it's going to work out, but hey. At least the snakes have somewhere to play.
But the most standout thing in the room has gotta be a cake. Bro went all out and made a lifesized cake for the occasion. It's chocolate, and it's as tall as a goddamn person. It... looks special, though. It's kind of lopsided, and the icing's thickness is sporadic. And it looks like he might've ran out of icing towards the bottom, because it's definitely not as delicious as the top.
Overall, it could have turned out worse. It does look like it could fall over at any moment, though.
And who even really knows how it tastes.
That isn't the point though! The point is everything is beautiful and it's time for the best party you ever did see.]

Yo, Professor.

...Which only makes him more awkward. He half smiles at him and raises his glass of punch at him.]
Strider. How are you?
no subject
[He's been love potion'd into loving Jane, despite having no interest in her whatsoever, no big deal.]
You don't seem like you want to murder Bro too badly for the party.
no subject
[He's not sure if he's convinced. He's learnt when to realise that the school is messing with the people dwelling inside of it.]
Of course not. Murderin', while entertainin', is just not proper for a party. If he doesn't show up to class next week, you're free to mourn him.
no subject
I have more faith in him than that. At most I'll bet he'd show up limping.
[Is this really how Dirk wants to start out this conversation?]
[He's a Strider. So yes.]
no subject
...Like right now? He's not sure how to answer that, but his cheeks go just a little pink.]
Why would you bet on that?
no subject
[See what innocent-minded children Bro has raised?]
no subject
You might be my boyfriend's son, but you're pushin' your luck young man. [He says because he has no good comeback that would be appropriate for a student to hear.]

She takes sometime to watch the room, finding familiar faces here and there before moving over to Murdoc when he's left alone briefly. The drink in her hand was once non alcoholic, but it's really not that hard to spike her own things, and if Murdoc asks, she'll share. But for now he just gets a small smile, one that gives nothing away, her tone teasing when she talks]
Donoghue... my, you're starting to show your age, aren't you?
no subject
But there she is, walking over to him once the others have stopped pestering for a moment. He doesn't notice straight away, indulging in his punch before considering looking around for Bro or Dolores. That's when he catches sight of her approaching.
He stiffens and straightens, scowling at the comment and rolling his eyes.]
I could say the same for you.
no subject
Ah, I've been old I've aged rather gracefully, by most. And yet you don't agree? How hurtful, old friend.
[She takes a sip of her own drink, perking up a little when she sees Dolores. She'll have to catch up with her later. But now she's going to go for something she noticed early, something she's heard from the rumours around school.]
So is Strider treating you kindly? He does seem the doting boyfriend.
no subject
[He smiles serenely, wishing he had something stronger in this drink. He just can't stop snipping and snarking at her. Of course she had to arrive during the most gushy time of the year for him. He doesn't want to be ashamed of the fact that he's softened up a considerable amount. But. Well. He kinda is.]
He does, and he is. He can be ridiculous at times...but he makes up for it where it counts. [He's just going to smile stupidly at that.]
no subject
[Because she knows she is fucking flawless. And almost like she's reading his mind, her hand slips into her robe and slips out a flask, offering it to him.] A little fire whiskey? It can be just like old times.
[she'll keep offering it even as she sips her own drink] He seems sweet. He was a few years below us, wasn't he? I recall the name, but he always seemed like a shy little thing.
no subject
[He can't help rolling his eyes, but his interest perks as her hand slips away. Does she want to duel- Ah, no. Even better. He holds out his cup for some.] What better way to liven the mood?
[A nod.] He is incredibly sweet, yes. I hadn't noticed him at all durin' school, I suppose he was a late bloomer. Though that isn't to say he didn't drive me mad durin' my first few months here.
no subject
[And back to considering the Strider] And yet he got under your skin all the same. Was it his ass? It is quite nice, from what I've seen it. [teasing smirk] And I imagine it's even nicer without pants.
no subject
I'd like to believe it was his personality, actually. More of a situational turn of events. [A situation he doesn't want to get into describing right now.] It is, but that's none of your business.

[Have a light touch on your arm, Murdoc, and an amused smile directed up at you. She doesn't have a drink - nothing here is to her tastes after all - but she's fond enough of Murdoc to show her face for his birthday.]
no subject
[He forces a wider smile and shrugs just a little, trying not to look too embarassed by everything. He keeps going between feeling gooey and flattered and happy to 'oh god what is this'.]
But I'm enjoyin' it all the same. I'm glad you came, it's nice to see you.
no subject
[Ah, how fiercely she has to resist the urge to gently ruffle his hair. How she became so fond of the often grouchy young professor is beyond her at times.]
I do have something for you, but I thought it best not to bring an easily stolen container of alcohol into an environment with students.
no subject
[His expression brightens a considerable amount at that.]
I shall look forward to takin' that off your hands at a later date.
no subject
[Not that she was going to be the one to let it slip, but some of the students could be less than subtle.]
But of course, any time that you have a free moment.
no subject
[For someone so egotistical he hadn't expected anyone to give this much of a crap.]
I'll make time for that. Mind if I ask what it is?
no subject
[Dear Murdoc why must you be so endearing in the most ridiculous of ways.]
It is a bottle of Quintin Black. I hope that's to your liking?
no subject
[He lets out a shy laugh.]
A fine choice. [He gives her a sly smile.] You know me so well.
