Bring on the fireworks
WHO: Everyone who can make it to Mechanisburg
TONE: Fun!
RATING: PG upwards depending on how drunk some people get (hey, kissing at the Midnight mark can get raunchy!)
WHEN: 31st December
WHERE: The brew hall in Mechanisburg, Germany
WHAT: Mamma's invited the staff and students of Hogwarts to join in with the New Year's eve party at her old brew hall! Families are welcome, the waitresses adore children!
Festivities were in full swing at Gkika's brew hall - the dancing girls on stage being cheered on by the bar patrons, the beer wenches mingling in the crowd and deliberately thickening their accents for tourists. The music was lively as to be expected, there were drinks and food aplenty. What more could you want?
Gkika herself was donning her 'Mamma' clothes as she circulated the crowd, making sure people were behaving themselves and not hesitating to bodily throw out those who didn't, all with a big grin on her face.
(ooc: Feel free to tag amongst each other, it's party!)

By this point in the evening, he's already had a few. Thankfully his Irish blood is preventing him from being so terribly drunk that he gets up and sings for everyone. However, he is tipsy and oddly pleasant. A mix of the drinks and the overall satisfaction with the year. He can't say it's been a bad one, even for all the shit that's happened.
He's smiling faintly as he takes a deep swig of his whiskey, but he isn't actively participating in the festivities.]

So, when she spots Murdoc, she's quick to swoop in on him and kiss him on the cheek, before sitting down and smiling brightly.]
Hello, dear.

Speaking of things that put him at ease, he smiles as she spproaches and allows her to kiss him without shying away. Though he considers it, he's not quite ready to return the favour. So he's just going to raise his glass at her.]
Do you say hello to everyone like that, Miss Maryam?
no subject
[Her nose wrinkles as she smiles, and she raises her glass in return, taking a quick sip before she sets it down.]
I didn't expect to see you, but I am glad that you're here.
no subject
[He takes a long sip of his, making it apparent as to why smiles are coming so easily for him tonight.]
I had nothin' better to do, I had thought it would be pleasant to spend the evenin' amongst friends. [And when he says friends, he can't help but give Dolores a knowing look. He's fairly certain she knows she's one of the few people worthy of the title.]

A large bottle of some suspiciously green liquid that might be a distant cousin to absinthe is slammed on the table by Murdoc's arm along with two shot glasses, and Mamma sits before him, BEAMING.]
Sveethott, iz time hyu learn to play drink like de Deutsche do. Hy promise no kastenlof at least - don't vant hyu gettink a cold on New Years. [GRINS.]

My dear... you are going to frighten the girls if you keep such a dark look.
[It's a gentle teasing as she touches his arm, looking at him with faint concern.]
no subject
I have no interest in the company of girls, so that suits me fine.
[He doesn't smile for her the way he normally would, though he doesn't tell her to go away, either. Truthfully, he's not sure how he feels about her being here. She is one of his only friends, and yet he's not certain how much he can or wants to tell her about Kurloz.]

I can leave you be, if that is what you would prefer.

we have so many threads going but I need role reversal in my life
He has his head propped up in his hands as he sits at his own table and doesn't seem to realise he's staring pointedly at Rhys from his nearby location.]
RIGHT?
Tonight, though, he just gives him a cold look and raises his voice just slightly.] Something I can help you with, Donoghue?
it'll be beautiful
He raises an eyebrow as Rhys speaks and there is something in his words that tickle Murdoc for no apparent reason. He smiles a little as he's addressed, but it eventually spreads into a ridiculous grin at Rhys.]

When he finally manages to work out how the doors work, he's the life of the party. He's chatting up the girls, dancing, drinking, hanging around the bar, trying to play an instrument, drinking and working out how to have other people buy his drinks.
He's pretty damn rowdy right now, perfect way to ring in the new year.]

Care for a drink vit Mamma?

I thought you'd never offer. [He flashes her what he thinks is a charming smile.]

dang what a late thread
Because he really, really doesn't.
And utterly smashed he certainly is. He's just come out of a long, rambling, very odd conversation on the nature of eternity (one of his favorite drunk conversation topics) with an unsuspecting patron of the bar, and now he's in full-on terrible drunken philosophy mode and looking for new conversation partners.]
Never too late
Enuff ov dot, sveethott, have sometink to eat!
