WHERE: The brew hall in Mechanisburg, Germany
WHAT: Mamma's invited the staff and students of Hogwarts to join in with the New Year's eve party at her old brew hall! Families are welcome, the waitresses adore children!

Festivities were in full swing at Gkika's brew hall - the dancing girls on stage being cheered on by the bar patrons, the beer wenches mingling in the crowd and deliberately thickening their accents for tourists. The music was lively as to be expected, there were drinks and food aplenty. What more could you want?

Gkika herself was donning her 'Mamma' clothes as she circulated the crowd, making sure people were behaving themselves and not hesitating to bodily throw out those who didn't, all with a big grin on her face.

It hardly seems as if we're talking about the same person here. However, if he were to be seemingly pleasant with you for one reason or another, whether or not the harm he causes is intentional is another factor entirely.

It isn't safe to become attached to a person like that. You'll wind up hurt somehow, can't you see that?

[She gives a little sigh and props her chin against her hand, watching him with a soft, fond expression.]

Of course I can see that. The risk of being hurt, in one way or another, is present in every moment of life and if we spend our time trying to avoid it, can we be said to be truly living?

The last man I believed to care for me, as foolish and clouded as that belief was, is the reason that I am what I am now. I do not think that I can be dealt a more grievous injury than the loss of my humanity.

It can be, because it means you keep livin' and don't die horribly. [He scowls at the fond expression, feeling as if he isn't being taken seriously. His buzz might have died off a little, oops.]

There are plenty of men who care for you! Dirk and I care for you! And that's all you really need, right? [He gives her the most innocent smile known to man.]

[Just for a moment, she almost points out that she's already dead. This is why she shouldn't drink. While she knows his concern is genuine, she is also quite sure that she knows what she's doing.]

I love the both of you dearly, and I appreciate that you want to look out for me, but it is different, and you know that.

I don't understand why it needs to be different with him of all people. There are plenty more suitable gentlemen who would happily acquaint themselves with you in that...manner.

[This is like talking to his mother about her love life...]

[She's starting to get that feeling, too..]

You may have noticed that many of the professors here are some twenty years my junior. That is enough for me to have personal reservations. Murdoc, I know you are only concerned for me but I promise you.. I know what I'm doing.

[He's slooooooowly turning a little bit pink, but he isn't going to back down from this.]

Twenty years isn't that long. [He grumbles into his drink, taking a long sip. Yup. He's drunk enough to start this.] You absolutely cannot indulge him, Dolores. I implore you. He's bad news, everyone can see that!

[Luckily for her, she's sober enough to be able to retort.]

I don't want to have this come between us. You are very special to me, a beloved friend.. let's not argue. If you wish to speak about when you are.. sober.. I am open to it.

I don't want it to either! S'why I'm sayin' it!

[He raises his arms, letting his drink slosh a little as he does...wow okay maybe he is a little drunk.]
