[Cassie was one of the first on the ice. It was cold, but sunny, and she just knew she wanted something different today.

She's currently skating alone in long ovals, wearing her skates with bright hufflepuff themed laces.]

[Rarity is all too happy to show off her fabulous new ice skates, and her abilities aren't too shabby either. She's spending most of the afternoon trying to work on her twirls without making an idiot of herself. Things would probably go much faster if she was willing to be less elegant about it, but she's making decent progress.]

[Karkat sat on the bank of the lake, hands shoved deeply into the pockets of the hoodie he wore under his robes as he scowled out at the frozen over lake. Someone had dropped a pair of skates next to him but he hadn't so much as glanced at them since getting here. Whoever had done this was dumb, and they should feel stupid for doing it. Either way, he was not getting out there on the lake. Nope.]

[Rapunzel's wide variety of hobbies, aside from some ballet, were generally not physical. But she had managed to convince her mother to get her a pair of skates that one Christmas when she was nine, and Mother had said she'd take her somewhere to learn... But it had never happened.

So she had the skates, but she didn't really know how to use them. That didn't stop her from kind of swaying-slash-waddling on the ice, though.]

[ Vriska may not be the BEST staker, but she is good enough to hold her own and race. No, no fancy tricks, but she does enjoy sudden stops that kick up tons of shaved ice up in any innocent bystander's face.

[He was pretty sure it wasn't cold enough for this. Anyway, that doesn't stop him from a big heavy coat and a nice long scarf. There's a mouth and room for a pipe somewhere under all the scarf.]

[Guess who's never been on the ice before? Apparently Xion (incorrectly) assumed that being experienced with water meant that she would do well with FROZEN water.

This is Xion stumbling and sliding COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL trying to get a hold on something solid to keep her up.]
