She's a little bit like Harley, huh? [rubbing the pad of his thumb along the soft skin just behind Karkat's ear in a dreamy sort of way]

[That makes Karkat pause for a bit, thinking about it. In his half-dreamy state he didn't pull away, though he did bite his bottom lip a little.] Yeah. I guess she is a bit like Harley. Or Harley's like her, whichever fucking works.

Yeah. They both like to be talking all the time. And try to help people and shit. And are, like, motherfuckin' button cute. [lightly pinches Karkat's ear, then starts rubbing the shell of it with his warm, warm fingers. Maybe he's trying to heat it up? It's hard to say.]

[Okay that? That makes a small noise pitch from his throat, a kind of whine that makes his cheeks flush red when he realizes it happened.] Shit, they're fucking nosy too.

[chuckles softly again, and now Karkat's got a hand at either ear] Hell yes they are. Sister's got see holes all up in a brother's business, peeping around.

[Karkat grits his teeth a little, brow furrowing as he shifts a little in the other's lap. He wants to pull away but at the same time he doesn't. Bleh. Confusing.] Fucking cheerful and always have fucking friendship speeches on hand. [He eventually settles back down and glowers at the lake/ice rink.] Damned if I know what the fuck I see in her...

[Gamzee's weirdly blue-purple eyes find Jade on the ice, and he's quiet for awhile, as he studies her. His thumbs work soothing circles along Karkat's ears, then rub the inner whorls lightly, finally moving bind to rub the sensitive skin there.]

Yeah, you know. [says eventually, his voice faraway] She's a good motherfuckin' match.

[That makes Karkat laugh a bit, the sound oddly bitter and a little dazed by the motions of Gamzee's thumbs]

Yeah right. [He sobers up from the laugh, reaching to pull his blanket tighter around himself.] She deserves better than me.

For a smart motherfucker, you sure can be daft sometimes. [serenely, still rubbing]

It's just the fucking truth. [He finally pulls away from the rubbing, his ears burning with embarrassment at the noises Gamzee was pulling from him.]

[mo_cara]

[Gamzee lets his hands fall back to Karkat's hair when he pulls away, petting and rubbing at the nape of the smaller boy's neck. He thinks the sounds are just fine, motherfuckin' adorable in fact, but he knows better than to say that.]

No, it ain't. She likes you. She just don't think you're into her. It's good, like that, when you got two people what are all in their differences zones. That's in all your motherfuckin' movies, bro!

Life isn't a fucking movie, Gamzee. [The shorter Gryffindor places his arms across his knees underneath his blankets, nestling his head on top of them.] It's not going to work out like that.

How do you know? [simply - its not like Karkat's dated a lot of girls, as far as Gamzee knows]

[small sigh of annoyance] Because it doesn't.

[mo_cara]

But how do you know? [pressing his nose to the back of Karkat's neck, breathing him in]

I just do, okay?! [Karkat turned over where he sat between Gamzee's legs, placing his hands on the Slytherin's legs and glaring up at him.] I'm the fucking worst when it comes to relationships! I wouldn't be any fucking good for her!

[Gamzee looks back at him placidly, absolutely unruffled by Karkat's glare.] I dunno, motherfucker. You're a pretty good friend, and that's a relationship, right?

It's not the same as an actual relationship. [He stares at the other for a moment longer before sitting back on his knees, looking down between them.] I'm a rotten friend too.

[Gamzee doesn't wince when Karkat says their friendship isn't the same thing as a real relationship. Despite how spacey and transparent he can be sometimes, the Slytherin is actually really, really good at hiding his real feelings about things, at least sometimes. So instead he just keeps smiling, soft and serene, and then he raises a hand to rub his finger lightly over the tip of Karkat's nose, then each cheek.]

You don't get to say whether you are or not, bro. That one's up to me.

[That just makes him hunch his shoulders. He's not sure whether or not he hurt Gamzee's feelings with that little outburst, and usually he wouldn't care either way but...he'd been getting a little bit of a bffsies crush on the other lately. He could tell, because it felt different from the butterflies he got around Jade.]

[Long fingers that smelled of snow and tobacco pressed over Karkat's lips, and Gamzee shook his head solemnly.] Nope.

[He gives a small sigh of annoyance before tilting his head up slightly, brushing his lips over Gamzee's fingers.] I guess you know better than me, huh?

About a lot of shit, best friend. [Tells him, still smiling, though an odd hint of color's risen to his cheeks with the way Karkat's lips brush over his fingers. It could just be the cold, though.] You know a motherfuckin' miracleload when it comes to other people's romance and shit, but you don't know jack shit about yourself.
