WHAT:  After this Murdoc realised the children (and staff) of Hogwarts were in dire need of swimming lessons.
STATUS: Ongoing

[GATHER AROUND CHILDREN it's a warm summer day and the lake is perfect for diving into your sudden but inevitable deaths. You should all be dressed in your swimming trunks (which you clearly have don't even lie) because Murdoc sure is. He's determined to conduct this in the best manner he can, though he wasn't quite expecting the turn out to be so large. People who can swim are welcome to become his assistants because he could probably use the help.]

[Laughs at the wiggle and shakes his head.]

[Smiling, he rolls over, resting his head against Bruce's hip]

[And then he slips his hand under the hem of Bruce's shirt, little brushing his nails over his skin]

[Blinks at the roll and rests a hand on Maxim's head, squawking and jerking when nails meet skin.]

Hey now-! [BRIGHT. RED.]

[snickers, pulling his hand back with a smirk]

[Shakes head at and tugs his shirt back down properly, flush slowly fading.]

You never stop.

[Sighs and strokes Maxim's hair back gently.]

Shouldn't you be in the water?

Mmmnope. Iz not the vay Hy em.

[though a part of him is worried it will chase Bruce off too. He's sort of been the one good thing about this week, and even that started rough]

[Closing his eyes at the hair petting, he curls onto his side, bringing his knees up ]

[Smiles fondly and keeps stroking before patting Maxim's shoulder.]

Come on, you bothered to get dressed for it - it'd be a shame not to get wet right?

[Chuckles and leans back on his hands, looking out at the lake.]

I haven't been swimming in ages.

[Open lap. Maxim goes for it, shifting so that his head rests on Bruce's thigh, arms curling around it. It is his lap now, his.]

Ve do it all de time. Not SUPPOZED to svim in de Dyne, but like dot effer schtopped uz...

[Blinks down at his overtaken thigh and smiles a bit shyly, petting Maxim's head again and stroking his hair from his face.]

Heh, sounds like fun. I used to go swimming at Dad's research college gym - a lot tamer.

[Nope, face in belly. Don't look at him, he's awful. But do keep petting his hair, that's nice]

Inzide iz not az much fun, Hy don' tink. [Murmurs into Bruce's shirt] Hy like beink outdoors.

[Just smiles at him like he's turned into an oversized dog (oh irony) and keeps stroking his hair.]

I like being outdoors too. Used to do it a lot more during the holidays - camping and stuff, even went swimming in a few lakes, and then well... [Trails off with a shrug and a small forced smile.] Things happen, you meet a 'wild dog'. I think my parents are more traumatized than me.

[Well he was raised by wolves.]

Iz zo fonny, hyu know. [pulls his face back out of Bruce's shirt, half rolling onto his back] For me, it haz alvays been... chust sort ov a ting? It heppened in my family, zo Hy deedn't tink much ov it vhen Hy vas schmall. Den Dimo got bit, und it vas...

[He looked up at Bruce, reaching out to slide his fingertips along the other boy's cheek] Vell, hyu alvays look at tings differently vhen dey iz cloze to home, yah?

[His eyes turn huge at the rather intimate touch and his cheeks turn bright pink, lashes fluttering as he awkwardly looks to the grass next to them rather than at Maxim's face. Hugs he knows, tackling he knows, WHAT IS THIS FACE-TOUCHING?]

Y-Yeah... Um, Dimo's lucky to have you though. [Dammit he's stuttering now, cue mental kick. Mental shake, he smiles a bit wistfully, glancing at the lake.]

You kinda want things to be normal again but there's only so much you can do without people noticing, you know?

Yeah, zumting like dot... [And maybe the tips of his ears go red, it's hard to say. Maxim's very good at not blushing, but what happened with Dimo was really not what Bruce thought. He hardly changed a bit. It was Maxim who suddenly felt weird and out of place, being suddenly unable to take his eyes off his older brother. He understood that it was... well... not right, but he couldn't bring himself to care, either]

[Luckily, Bruce's pink cheeks, fluttery eyes, and stuttering were more than enough of a distraction away from his own awkward feelings]

[Good thing Bruce doesn't notice Maxim's slight flustered moment, too busy watching some of the students splash about in the water.

He still can't stop from reacting at Maxim's comment though, and stares down at the boy, red dusting his cheeks and top of his nose.]

I- what???? [Did he squeak? He might have squeaked.]

I just- uh, um, thanks...? [He's going to assume he imagined Maxim saying 'awful things' and leave it to the boy being a tease again. Yeah. That's safe.]

[He just chuckles a bit, folding his hands on his chest as he smirks up at Bruce]

Of cou- wait, what? [STARES DOWN AT, looking so very confused.]
