WHO: John Watson and Sherlock Holmes
TONE: Pride and scientific inquiry followed by immense romantic embarrassment
RATING: PG to PG-13, depending
WHEN: Feb. 10th
WHERE: The Great Hall
WHAT: John and Sherlock's egg is hatching! And then... oh. Oh dear.
STATUS: Ongoing
[Several days had passed with John and Sherlock handing off egg-sitting duty. It'd all gone pretty well so far. Sherlock had kept true to his promise to not perform potentially lethal experiments on the egg, and the days had gone by in relative peace.
Now John sits in a corner of the Great Hall, where he is working on a bit of homework. He hadn't felt like going up to the library, out to the Courtyard, or into the Hufflepuff common room, so that left few options.
As he's doing his assigned reading for DADA, a small bit of movement flicks in the corner of his eye, catching his attention. He looks around, but resumes reading when he sees nothing out of the ordinary. Again, something in his peripheral vision moves. His eyes land on the egg, and his eyes widen in surprise. The egg is twitching every so often, and a small crack mars its surface.
Quickly, he grabs his journal and sends a message to Sherlock.]
