WHAT: Canon selves event! A seance gone awry has had its effect on the school, bringing about mental and physical changes to students and staff alike! Full details of the combinations of effects can be found here.
STATUS: Ongoing! Use whichever style you like.

[Spring brings change, but that change isn't always a good thing! Whether your character has changed entirely into their canon self, or only in part, please keep in mind that whatever they know/learn of their original canon during this event will be unable to be clearly recalled - disappearing with their past self - when the event is over. This is to avoid fourth-walling after the conclusion of the event.

Please also keep in mind that some people will not want to fourth-wall during the event! Make sure it's alright with the other player before you decide to do that. Above all, though, have fun!]

[Rose raises a careful eyebrow at Gamzee. He seems much different from what she recalls of him on the meteor. Is he perhaps pretending? He seems different though! She isn't sure how to feel about it.]

[Rose is out and about. She's got her badass, God Tier threads on and she's making her way down this hallway. Walking fast and she's-

This is not the meteor. This isn't even like a proper dream bubble. Man, what da fuck.] Excuse me? [Please help. Cannot find meteormates. Unsure where is.]

Yeah okay. So we're being vague?

[Actually starts walking to not be dragged]

Well I've had to live through worst. But fine, I'll let the dragging continue if you're so set on it.

[Staaaaaaaaaaaaares at the troll, eyes narrowing. The only man he answers to has scars along his glorious face, while this fucker's face is unmarred. But hey, it's a familiar form and similar enough, especially with that flash of orange in his eyes.

Still, he has things he needs doing, so he holds up his sign so the troll can see it.]

You wouldn't believe me if I told you exactly what's what anyway.

[Keeps tugging him along, down the halls and past the students.]

Relax though, we're not in Afghanistan or anything. We're in England.

I've probably had to deal with worse. Never really thought for a moment this was Afghanistan. They're not really big on.

[He glances around.]

[Oh no. That was definitely not something she ever wanted to see. The motion is rather universal so she understands that but still feels a little pathetic that he must resort to such rudimentary means to get her to understand.

Still. It's a little weird for him to be asking for scissors. If there is something he wants to cut, wouldn't using some magic be a lot easier? Slowly Meulin is beginning to realize there is something else going on here.

She nods, indicating that he follow her.]

[By now Meulin had come to realize that the castle was having one of its fits again. Sometimes these were fun, sometimes these were upsetting--thus far this one was mostly just confusing. The young Hufflepuff had been going around trying to help or calm down people who found themselves in different bodies when she came across Rhys.

Well then.

To say she was unnerved and intimidated would be the understatement of the century. She wasn't even certain what this person was supposed to be but whoever they were, they were just likely part of the school, caught up in the mess, and very confused. It was this knowledge that steeled her and made them approach the behemoth.]

Hello? [Well. First order of business was to see if they could even understand each other]

[The eyes, as they turn to Meulin, are a frightening lambent amber, with deep blue-purple irises that stare out of that monstrous face, and the voice, when it rumbles past painted lips, is low and inhuman. The accent, though, is still a lilting Welsh, and the troll inclines his head to girl who is so tiny to him, now.]

Miss Leijon. You're very brave.

[She inclines her head further in return, out of respect. The fangs make it a little more difficult for her to read him, but she manages and is relieved to see that language won't be a barrier as it has been with some others.

From the way he addresses her she can conclude he is a teacher. Looking at him, however, it is impossible for her to tell who it is exactly.]

Thank you, Professor...? It seems that there are a lot of changes going on fur--for everyone. Is there some way I can help?

[Murdoc is only getting more confused at the ever increasing tightness of the hug. He might have kids, but he's not particularly fatherly or affectionate. He can, however, sense that Mituna feels unsafe. Why else would he cling so much?

With a sigh, Murdoc crouches down a bit, placing a hand on Mituna's shoulder for a friendly massage whilst trying to make eye contact through that damn fringe. He can see the boy's eyes are particularly strange and he's honestly curious as to why.]

Give it a few days, it'll pass. [He half smiles, flashing a bit of shark teeth as he does.] Have you eaten?

[Murdoc fools himself into thinking Bro might be reciprocating due to the lack of fighting back. Y'know. Despite the fact he just did the wizard equivalent of tasering. He still maintains the fact that he had it coming with all of that attitude.

Following that logic, he probably deserved that punch in the face. Thankfully, even with Bro's heightened strength it doesn't hurt too much. It certainly hasn't broken his nose this time, at least. He reels away with a dejected expression, rubbing at his poor face whilst giving Bro the wide woeful eyes.

He at least has his wand at the ready if Bro should decide to attack him, but he really doesn't look as if he wants a fight.]

[The troll seems to perk up the moment he hears her voice, as if it's familiar. So by the time she addresses him, he's already staring right at her. From the way she talks, he's starting to think she's in the same state of mind as her father, but at least she doesn't seem inclined to punch him in the face.

Wait- what did she call him? He thins his eyes at her, his fins flattening against his face as he does.]

Excuse me? Miss Lalonde, is that any way to speak to your professor? I hardly think that kind of language is appropriate for a young witch.

[By the time Katniss catches him, he's about knee deep in the lake and clearly drenched from his little experiment. He really can't blame her for being confused, he looks like some horrible creature that just dragged itself from the depths of the lake.

He gives her a strained look at the question, trying to fight a very instinctual urge to hiss at the girl. What on Earth is wrong with him.]

Miss Everdeen. [He nods, reaching his cape around himself into his hands and wringing it out.] Quite real, yes, albeit woefully unrecognisable. It's professor Ampora.

[Murdoc's reaction is... not much different, to be honest. He at least holds back from cussing at the boy, but he still reels away just a little. He puts a clawed hand over his mouth, thinning his eyes at Dirk and resisting the urge to snort.]

Strider? [And for good measure.] Is there a problem beyond my appearance?

[Murdoc can't help shrinking away ever so slightly as the huge monster of a man stoops toward him. It's hard not to be a little wary, it's not like Rhys is someone he particularly trusts when he isn't huge.

He shakes his head as the question is asked, folding his arms over his chest.]

I've been referred to as a troll at one point, though I'm sure it's an entirely different manner of bein'. [He gives Rhys another once over before making an observation.] You're big.

[Wait, how does he know her name? She's familiar, but at the same time she isn't. He's sure he's shared tea with this girl, that he's known her for years, but.. how could he have?

I--, that is, are you alright?

[It is not England's fault, and poor England is walking about the castle looking just as confused as Francis feels. Half the time, he's thinking of himself as England, and the other half he's sure he's a student, and then there are the distressingly puzzling moments when he's quite certain he's both and thinking too hard just gives him a headache.

When he does run into Francis, he finds himself simultaneously startled and oh so amused. He can't help the first thing that comes out of his mouth.]

Bloody hell, don't you look a sight.

[Yes, that's the name, he's sure of it. He's quite sure this boy isn't meant to look like that, but.. yes, he's sure that's the name. Still, it's spoken carefully, as if he's not quite sure.]

... What the buggering hell are you wearing.

[Arthur.. doesn't know where he is. That is, he does but he's not sure how he got here. Something about a train..? Every time he tries to think about it he gets a multitude of clashing memories and his head starts to hurt. It feels like magic gone wrong, but hell if he can recognise the kind of magic it is.

Even if he could, that's no guarantee he could fix it.

The larger problem here, is that he feels like he's lost several inches in height and a look in a mirror had told him quickly enough that he's also lost a few years. Or has he? He knows it isn't right but it doesn't feel wrong, either. One part of his mind is telling him that everything is fine, while the other is about to pitch a fit in panic.

He's walking quickly down a hallway and muttering to himself, trying to get everything in order when he bumps into Tony, jumping back a foot or two in surprise.]

Ah, sorry, Tony-- [Wait, how did he know the man's name? He's sure they've never met.. but he's familiar, at the same time.] ... It is Tony, isn't it?

[She sees you, vampire boy, and she sees you floating as well. From the back she can't yet see that he's also turned grey, or she may be a little more alarmed than she is already by the simple fact he's.. floating.

Though he definitely doesn't appear to be dead (or deader), so there's a small silver lining, there.]

Oh my... good heavens.

[No, this is not what she expected to see when she walked around the corner. Dolores has seen a few people today who have suddenly turned grey and grown horns and sharp teeth, but she's been assured by contacts in Hogsmeade that it's the result of a seance gone wrong and they're working as quickly as they can to fix it. In the meantime.. well, the best she can do is try to keep people calm.

When she rounds the corner and comes face to face with that, however, the first thing that happens is her knees promptly buckling underneath her, only saved from falling by her back hitting the wall.]

[Traffic cone. Hnng, well. As far as obtrusive colors go, it's a nice...hoodie...? Oh goodness, kids will wear anything nowadays, won't they? But he can be nice! Just ignore his somewhat judging gaze upon your clothes, it's only going to last a moment or two.]

...Hm, I am afraid I do not, ma petite. [Smiles awkwardly. He's not going to answer to the human thing one way or the other quite yet.] So we are both lost then? My my, what a dilemma! Perhaps if we wander a little more, we will find someone more familiar with the setting! What do you say?

[Mituna's been landed with a grey skinned, pointy-toothed body with one blue and one red eye hidden behind his mop of black hair, four horns poking up out of the dark strands.

When he finds Kurloz wandering the halls, his first thought is to wonder what he's still doing in his pyjamas, one eye squinting shut as he cocks his head curiously. It doesn't occur to him at first that something might have happened to him, too.]

[Wow, the name is even harder to get around his teeth but he forces it out, watching the other boy with a frown.]
