The best party ever

WHAT: Bro has thrown a surprise party for Murdoc in his office and invited everyone.

[Having a boyfriend whose birthday is on Valentine's day is beautiful. It's beautiful and Murdoc definitely doesn't understand why. But to Bro, it's beautiful. Because it means that when he throws Murdoc a surprise party, he can get away with using the most horrendous pink decorations that he possibly can. Of course, they're not all pink. Some are purple! The shade of purple that Murdoc likes the most. There are hearts hanging from the ceiling and there's a giant poster that says 'Happy Birthday Murman' hanging on the wall. In the corner there is a playpen set up for anyone who might have decided to bring their snakes. It was a spur of the moment decision and he isn't quite sure how it's going to work out, but hey. At least the snakes have somewhere to play.

But the most standout thing in the room has gotta be a cake. Bro went all out and made a lifesized cake for the occasion. It's chocolate, and it's as tall as a goddamn person. It... looks special, though. It's kind of lopsided, and the icing's thickness is sporadic. And it looks like he might've ran out of icing towards the bottom, because it's definitely not as delicious as the top.

Overall, it could have turned out worse. It does look like it could fall over at any moment, though.

And who even really knows how it tastes.

That isn't the point though! The point is everything is beautiful and it's time for the best party you ever did see.]

[Just give in and embrace the happiness, Murdoc. You know you want to. It's not strange to feel happy over such an obvious display of affection as this party is. He did it so you'd be happy- well, mostly so you'd learn TO be happy over stuff like this. So you'd lighten up and learn to enjoy a nice party once in a while. And also because everyone deserves a birthday party. Except himself. He doesn't want to get any older than he already is, after all.]

[He murmurs it just before their lips connect, and he wraps his arms loosely around Murdoc's waist, grinning into the kiss.]

[Bro, you have no idea. His last birthday was nothing short of awful, he's not even sure he acknowledged it. He hasn't really celebrated his birthday since he was a boy. So having someone who cares enough about him to do all of this...it does feel strange. There isn't another word for it.

He leans into the hug and the kiss for a reasonable amount of time before pulling away. He's not very good at PDA yet.]

Are you goin' to start makin' a scene at my birthday already, darlin'? Here I thought you'd have kept the booze away for the sake of the children.

[It sounds like communication is important. Murdoc should tell him these things so he can be sure to make every birthday from now on better than the last. That's going to be difficult, though. He's not sure how he could possibly make a cake that's better than the one he made for this party. Because seriously, it's pretty fucking awesome.

Bro kisses him eagerly and wishes it could last a little longer, though he hums against it happily until Murdoc pulls away. His hand then comes up to stroke Murdoc's cheek.]

I don't need booze to kick anyone's ass. 'specially not when it's for you.

[Haha, bro. What a silly concept! Opening up to people and telling them stuff! He will never fail to be amused by such charming and simple optimisim.

Either way, he's just enjoying the attention and acknowledgement right now. He feels incredibly lucky, which isn't something he feels often. He nuzzles into the hand as his cheek is stroked, but finally he pulls away with a smile.]

I suppose it's about time to mingle, isn't it? Wouldn't want the guests to think they came for nothin'.

[Bro just lets out a sigh. Of course it's time to mingle. They can't just stand around making googoo eyes and kissy faces at each other all day, unfortunately. Even if he'd be more than happy to do that.]

Yeeeah, I guess you're right. [He reaches down and gives Murdoc a pat on the ass.] Go mingle, birthday boy.

[Murdoc pushes at him as he sighs, giving him that face that says he would be nagging viciously if they weren't in public. Bro, you threw this party, be a big boy!]

I'm always right. [He smiles as he pats his ass, deciding not to swat him for now in favour of slinking off into the party.]
