Joyeux Anniversaire
WHO: Friends of Sybille +Eridan and Cronus if they wanana
TONE: CELEBRATORY
RATING: Drunk
WHEN: The night of the 8th of November
WHERE: Hogsmeade, some fancy place
WHAT: Sybille is turning 36!! Murdoc is paying for everyone's dinner in celebration of this fact!
It's a lovely autumn evening and the weather couldn't be more perfect for dining out. It might be chilly outside, but the restaurant is warm, friendly and damn does it ever smell good. If you mention the names Donoghue or Matteris at the door you'll be lead to a private room with a table set for enough room for all the people who expressed interest in attending and more.
There aren't decorations because this is a tasteful, adult party. What are you? Twelve? There aren't seating arrangements either so pick a spot and stop fussing before Murdoc pushes you into the one furthest from the food.
The food is already served and spread across the table. Like hell he had any intention of sitting around while every single person decided they wanted the lobster. Pretty much everything looks good, but save room for cake you money absorbing food sponges.

ARRIVALS

Or is she faking it? We just don't know.]
Not bad, Murdoc.

Joyeux Anniversaire à vous mon cher ami. [His French isn't great, what with having a fairly thick Irish accent, but it's not cringe-worthy.]
no subject
Hah.]
You need to work on your accent, darling.
no subject
It's almost like you don't want your present.
no subject
It's more that I think you'd be more charming if you could speak in a way that wouldn't get you horribly judged.
no subject
[EYE ROLL.] Do you want your gift or not?
no subject
The shades aren't going anywhere, though. Not this time. The first thing that he does when he arrives is look for Murdoc straight away, and when he finds him he heads over to him.]
I hope you know I only did this for you.
[AKA please remind him why he actually is here.]
no subject
Bonsoir to you too. [He gives him a flat look before gently elbowing him.] I trust you've wished Sybille a Happy Birthday in one of the several languages you know.
no subject
[And he doesn't particularly want to. Being here is already awkward enough. He would quite honestly just prefer to hang out with Murdoc the whole evening even if he knows he can't. Which is why he brought his cellphone. He wonders if it would work here...
God he hopes so. Angry bird would be cathartic right now.]
What d'you think she'd prefer, Troll or Mermish?
no subject
[He gives him a weak smile. He knows Bro came out of his own desire, even if he claimed it was for Murdoc. Murdoc had not guilted or pressured him, so he needn't feel bad.
And yet he does. He wants it to stop.]
I'd appreciate it if you did, you know.
no subject
[The smile gets to him though, as does Murdoc's next words. Goddamn it, how's he supposed to argue with that? He can't. It's impossible. Just fucking impossible.]
Yeah, yeah, I plan to. I didn't come here just to ignore her. That'd look bad anyway. Just gimme a bit, I guess? It's not like this is easy.
no subject
[He gives him a judging look, even though he's still smiling at him. Bro you are dumb. Dumb and adorable.]
I had no intention of forcin' the two of you together, I was simply makin' sure you were here for her as well.
no subject
[He returns the look with one of practiced nonchalance. It's hard to hold it though, as he looks at Murdoc. Goddamn him.]
Oh really? Sometimes I get the feeling you wouldn't be against locking us in a room together until we work out our differences. But yeah, no. I will. It'll just take a while. Maybe some booze.
no subject
[He's saying all of this in a low voice so as not to be overheard, but with such a casual air that it's as if he isn't complimenting Dirk's accent that he shouldn't know about.]
I'd be lyin' if I said I hadn't contemplated it before, actually.
no subject
That's reserved for you and you alone.
[He rolls his eyes at that.]
You do and I might have to kick your ass.
no subject
You can try. [Smiiiirk.]
no subject
I can fucking succeed. If I remember correctly, I got the first hit in between us that one time.
no subject
no subject
[Y'know. When he kissed you.]
In a fair fight, there's no way you'd win.
no subject
If you challenged me to a proper fight and didn't launch at me with no warnin', I would beat you.
no subject
[He... can't argue with that one, to be honest. God damn it.]
That's a fuckin' lie. There's no way you'd win, not with a back like yours.
[That may or may not have been a low blow. But it fits well with Murdoc's reference.]
no subject
[Folding his arms over his chest.]

He decided to be nice and not pass this opportunity up or something. Even if he doesn't look too pleased about it.]

[Hehehehe. Sybille is smiling, though, and she's going to try to be polite to Eridan. At least while others are watching.
