Last Friday night

WHO: Rose Lalonde and the school!
TONE: Party rockin'

WHEN: October 26th
WHERE: Salvador Vantas' classroom
WHAT: Rose is hitting up the festivities a little early with a little Masquerade Tea Party! Food, drinks, and music! Everyone is invited so mix and mingle and party till you can't party no more. Or at least until teachers shoo the students off to sleep.

With much planning and preparation involved, is delighted to see that everything is going according to plan for the party. She has left invitations tacked to boards so many can see and has even went to the network to remind everyone. She was excited to say the least. It was her first time setting up a party. She wasn't her mom and didn't have the experience, but she likes to think that she did a pretty good job getting everything together while juggling everything else.

[Steve is feeling more then a little awkward, and he is going to deal with it by nibbling on a cookie and watching the party unfold. Yep, this is good enough for him.]

[Guess who else is feeling out of place? He's just there to help Rose out and keep an eye out on things, but being the only teacher and (seemingly) oldest man in the room doesn't give him much chance for conversation with the younger and hyper students. So he's just been chilling and watching the scene with a cup of coffee and some biscuits on a plate.]

[He's surprised to see Coulson of all teachers there, but he smiles at the teacher, fiddling with the glass in his hand.]

Are you just here to watch?

[They're both wallflowers, aren't they? Coulson just returns the smile.]

Good evening Mr Rogers.

In a way. I'm here to make sure everything goes smoothly and assist Ms Lalonde in whatever matters she requires, including set-up and clean-up.

[Steve is too nervous and shy to talk to anyone else. But seeing the teacher there is comforting, in a way.]

Makes sense. And I bet students will be behaving better, knowing there's a teacher around to set them straight.

Precisely. You've figured out my ulterior motive for the evening, Mr Rogers.

[He doesn't mean it in a sarcastic way, as evident by the joking tone he's taking.]

Honestly though, I was impressed by Ms Lalonde's initiative for the party and how well she organized everything. I just thought that she might need an extra hand to help with the decorations. And I do like Halloween parties, even if I'm too old to dress-up.

Very sneaky.

[He grins, but he's still too shy to look at Coulson directly.]

I don't know her very well, but she's pretty spectacular when it comes to thinking things through. And I don't think you're that old, Professor.

Well I'm slightly flattered you think that way, but old folks like me have to learn to accept that we're past the age for costumes. I don't think I could keep up with you kids either way. Especially with Mr Odinson I think.

I really don't think you're that old, sir.

[His gaze falls on Thor, and he laughs.]

I don't think any of the students can keep up with him, so don't feel bad.

[He chuckles along with Steve at Thor's over-enthusiastic dancing.]

He's definitely enjoying himself at least which is the important thing.

How about yourself Mr Rogers? Dancing isn't your thing either?

[He shakes his head.]

Yeah. And no, I don't even know how to dance. I wouldn't be very good at it, either.

That makes the two of us then. I wasn't very good at dancing back when I was a student. Never had the time to pick it up either.

I think dancing is a little bit generous for what they're doing. Though, I think watching is more fun.

[Tony deliberately leans past him for some pumpkin juice.]

You know the point of a masquerade party is to do more than put on a mask, right?

[He gives him one of his more pleasant grins, before taking a drink.]

[He steps aside to give him better access to the juice, taking a bite out of a cookie.]

I can't dance, and I don't have anything else to use as a costume.

[Picks up a glass and raises and gives Steve a slight look before taking a drink.]

If it helps, I only know because I'm forced to go to balls and galas.

[He then picks up a strawberry and gestures at Steve with it.]

That's the great thing about masquerades, all you need is a suit and a mask. You could have asked me, I could have leant you one of mine. Or at least leant you something less scholastic.

[He then eats the strawberry]

[He snorts, the image of Tony at a formal ball an entertaining one. He shakes his head, reaching for a cookie.]

Your clothes wouldn't fit me. I'm too skinny, and my robes work for this just fine.

[Ha ha, joke's on you he's charming and fun at such things.]

You say that like I don't get top marks in transfiguration. It's beyond easy to change sizes of clothes. And the robes only work fine when we're in class, not in a dressed up social event. I mean really, look around. This is one of those moments where fitting in makes you stand out less.

Unless of course that was the plan, then bold move, Steve. Bold move.

[Years of practice and schmoosing.]

Wouldn't that mean you can change the appearance of them, too?

[He has no idea what sort of ideas that could plant.]

You got me there.

Well yeah. You take transfiguration, you know what we can do in those classes.

You've always been so secretly snazzy, Steve. An interesting talent there.

I know, but you're also two years above me.

I try to be.

Which means I'm better at it than you might think. So want to let me look a little less 'that awkward kid that wears a mask to class, like danger mouse' and more 'Woah, who is that masked man, I must kiss him'

[He pauses]

Girls are saying that last part.

I'm sure they are.

[snickers.]

But if you want to change my robes, go ahead.

[Gives him a big grin, as he takes out his wand]

Bippidy boppity boo.

[Tapping Steve's uniform he mumbles the spell and changes the uniform into a smart looking tan-coloured military themed suit, with the mask matching in colour.]

I always make you look good.

Just make sure you don't become a pumpkin at midnight.

So you're my fairy god mother now?

[He looks down at the uniform, pleased, before looking up at Tony with a laugh.]

Sorry, Tony, but that's not how the story goes.
