WHERE:  The Lake.
WHAT:  After this Murdoc realised the children (and staff) of Hogwarts were in dire need of swimming lessons.
STATUS: Ongoing

[GATHER AROUND CHILDREN it's a warm summer day and the lake is perfect for diving into your sudden but inevitable deaths. You should all be dressed in your swimming trunks (which you clearly have don't even lie) because Murdoc sure is. He's determined to conduct this in the best manner he can, though he wasn't quite expecting the turn out to be so large. People who can swim are welcome to become his assistants because he could probably use the help.]

Huh? [Gamzee just blinks at him as though he's spoken in another language.]

[wwistful]

Here.

[He releases his leg and shifts, pushing Gamzee's back upward under the water, indicating that he needs to straighten it.]

Straighten.

[mo_cara]

[The boy shifts, trying to do as he's been asked. It takes a little bit of twisting, but he finally gets his apparently near-permanently noodley spine in an approximation of straight.] Like that?

[wwistful]

Better.

[Now he's shifting to grab both of his arms, straightening them.]

You need to keep your arms in line an' in time. When one is in the water the other should be out.

[Gamzee holds his arms straight out in front of them, and then attempts to pinwheel them slowly, keeping them board stiff, which needless to say doesn't do much of anything useful. They, however, at least timed so that when one is in the water, the other is out.]

Not quite like that, Makara. You don't need your arms to be as straight as your back. You're tryin' to scoop them through the water.

[He mimics the motion in the air.] Do you understand?

Oh, yeah, you mean swimming like regularwise. [Gamzee can do that!]

[wwistful]

Regularwise? [Did he hear that right?] Regularwise?

I suppose so, yes.

[mo_cara]

[Gamzee will attempt this regularwise swimming! ... which is really just his normal swimming, but trying to take into account Murdoc's advice, which is sort of half successful. It seems he can keep either his back or his arms straight, but not both at the same time. Still, he probably just needs practice.]

[wwistful]

[Murdoc swims back to get a better look at Gamzee. It's not perfect, but it has improved since the first time he caught him trying.]

Much better, Makara. But stay straight.
