School Year Starting Logs: Train + Feast/Sorting!

WHEN: The day of September 2nd for the train, and at night for the feast!
WHERE: Hogwarts Express/Platform 9 3/4 and The Great Hall
WHAT: Gotta get back to Hogwarts! Back to witches and wizards and magical feasts! Students and teachers are finally heading back to school on the Hogwarts express, and with the new school year means sorting for the first years!
STATUS: Ongoing!
NOTE: There is a thread for the Train back to Hogwarts, and the Feast, with a subthread for the Sorting! First years can comment to be sorted, and everyone else can greet their new house mates/students!

The best part is when we start coming up on the Castle though. Hopefully it won't be too dark this year.

[So. This guy. This guy right here has been worried about Dirk ever since he found out that Dirk was hurt at camp. He hasn't had the opportunity to see him until now. He ends up passing by Dirk's compartment as he walks through the train, trying to occupy himself. When he sees Dirk, he rushes into the compartment faster that he's usually capable of moving.

It's really fortunate that he manages to avoid tripping over himself, but he does.

He throws his arms around Dirk and squeezes him in pretty much the biggest hug ever.]

I'm so glad that you're okay, and not hurt! Or, uh, worse! I was, really worried!

_{[He's completely surprised when Tavros is just there out of no where! He had been so caught up in the window he didn't notice. After a bit of squirming, he turned around and returned the hug. It feels like he hasn't seen Tavros and ages, so he's really happy to see him.]}

You shouldn't have worried. I told you I was okay.

Uh... Well, I wasn't sure if I believed you or not, on account of you sounded, um, not like like yourself. Which is, uh, happy and stuff. But you look okay to me, so...

[He gives him one last squeeze before pulling away, smiling a very relieved smile.]

Mutie, you are a darling, but get back here!

[Dirk might have a small cat staring up at him, purring up a storm. The girl that follows it is fairly pretty, and maybe even looks kind of similar to someone you may already know. She's obviously older than Dirk is.] Tsk, you silly cat!

<sub>[There's a tiny ball of orange fluff sitting on the seat beside the window near where Dirk is standing, who glances down at the cat momentarily before deciding she's not interested.

Dirk, on the other hand, shrieks and picks up the cat. WHY SO CUTE, CAT. That's also when he looks up at Rose, and for a moment he's confused.]</sub>

You look kinda like Roxy. And Roxy's auntie.

[While Mutie tried to get Dirk's attention by batting at him, Rose kept her eyes on the other.

Ah. Of course she could figure out who this one is.]

That's because we're related. You must be Dirk Strider. [She never met him in person, but figuring out Striders were her specialty.]

[Jake stowed his stuff somewhere-- not that he has a whole godawful lot of it --and started wandering around the train looking at stuff and awkwardly trying to avoid the majority of the people. Walking by Dirk's cabin, he pauses at a particularly breathtaking bit of scenery and finds himself opening the door without asking, just to look.]

[A moment later he realizes it's Dirk sitting at the window, possibly with a lap-Roxy.]

Oh! Well bother, salutations.

_{[If that lap Roxy is there, she's pillowless now, because Dirk is on his feet. TIME FOR A FISTBUMP BRO, ARE YOU READY FOR IT?]}

Do you need a place to sit? There's plenty of room in here!

[Oh, fistbumping! He's sort of fumbling about it, but yes, okay, bumping his fist into Dirk's. A suitable greeting! He has to remember that one.]
