Ah, the sound of music. It's not always a pretty sound- definitely not. While there are plenty of good bands at the festival, there are also plenty of pretty awful ones trying to make it big. But that's okay, because it's still a good time! Look at all of those stages, look at all that festival food. Four days of music, fun and awesomeness! So walk around, enjoy the music, maybe enter the singing competition they have each day.

But wait! Even if you aren't musically inclined, guess what? Shortly after arriving, you begin to feel the sudden urge to sing, too, even if you might sound like a dying whale. Eventually the urge is going to get so great that you just have to break out into song. Or you might just sing randomly throughout the day, if you give into the feelings. It really depends on your willpower! Either way, you will sing. It looks like all the spells used to make this happen have had unintended side-effects.

That won't stop you from having fun though, right?

[Rose, keeping herself busy most of the time, has yet to utter a lyrical tune out of her mouth. She's pretty stubborn, and the thought if belting out lyrics isn't her idea of a good time. She has been keeping herself busy to avoid such affliction.

Now though? There's downtime and she's keeping herself preoccupied with tuning her violin. Still, lyrics go through her mind and she taps her foot every so often. She hasn't devolved into humming but it's getting pretty hard to ignore it.]

[Alec fixes her with a frown, taking it as teasing even if she doesn't mean it that way. He would mean it that way, and that's most of what matters, isn't it? It's the sort of thing he'd mock people for.]

It's pathetic. [And yes, he includes himself in that assessment, irritated and prickly.

[Keith doesn't need any help from vampiric compulsion. He's elbowed his way to the front of the show and is jumping against the barrier, one raised fist pumping as he yells and cheers.

His palms aren't stinging from clapping. He actually can't feel them anymore.]

[This place is really too loud for him, but he's managing to have fun regardless. Though his father and brother are around somewhere, he's wandered off by himself, and who should he run into (quite literally, as he crashes into his side while he's not looking where he's going) but Murdoc.

He springs back as if burned and loses his balance completely as his heel catches on a tuft of grass. Mituna hits the ground with a muffled grunt and winces, hissing out a string of vitriolic curses before looking up.]

... Hi profethor.

[Mituna Captor bursting into song isn't something that anyone should have to hear, and he's managed to keep various impulses to do so mostly under control (because singing is distracting, and when he's distracted he has this annoying tendency to fall on his ass).

It's quieter now, and Rose catches his attention. A girl from school, he thinks. He drifts over to her, hovering over her shoulder like the world's most awkward helium balloon, and watches her tuning the violin.]

[Bunny can't help but notice Rose is sitting by herself while she tunes. He's never really had given the impression that she didn't enjoy being on her own at times. The fact that she was opting to sit by herself at a large music festival did have him a touch curious.

And as he approaches the curious look is obvious on his face.]

Thinkin' a'startin' your own show, La'londe?

[His head tilts ever so slightly as he asks.]

[Your frown does nothing to her. She is immune to frowning. However he takes it, is no concern to her anyways.]

I can't imagine it being that pathetic. It's like school and it's ability to turn itself on its side at any given moment. Perhaps it's not the school but the students and staff. [Or maybe their lives just suck in that regard.]

[Rose continues to tune her violin, but his presence is known.]

Is there something you need? [If he were an awkward helium balloon, she wouldn't think twice to pop him. He best be careful. Wrath knows no fury like a Lalonde's.]

[She's actually pretty okay with being by herself. She had always grown up thinking she was an only child of some sort. Even if that wasn't the case at all. Plus, too many people for such a short amount of time. Some time to herself is nice.

Especially with her violin.]

I would hope not. I can't imagine this kind of crowd would take to a one woman violin performance. There is hardly enough screaming involved.

[marshall_lee]

[Marshall can't exactly talk at the moment but he sends a smile her way and winks in her direction. All too soon the bands set is up and he makes his way over, guitar still strapped on.]

Hey Rose! Nice to see you decided to give a music festival a try. Are you having a good time?

[marshall_lee]

[Marshall grins as he spies Keith in the crowd. At least he didn't have to wonder if Keith was having a good time! He nods in the other boys direction and when the set is over he makes his way over grinning.]

Hey man! I'm surprised you didn't try to crowd surf out there.

[It had seemed like the safest arrangement. Public, for one, and for two she was likely to see someone familiar in the crowd if she needed an escape route. Not that she! Thought she would! But she did already kiss the guy, apparently, and that did make things rather awkward and...perhaps implication-y. As in she might have accidentally implied there would be more kissing and given how she has no real memory of the first one which might have been her first ever kiss, she has no idea if she's any good at it, and even if she is she doesn't know if she likes him the way she's liked Jake or Dirk and oh, this is going to end badly, isn't it?

Jane's standing near a particular vendor as they arranged. Dad wasn't too keen on the idea, even if she's perfectly safe from assassination attempts. Jane wishes she could better vouch for Nick's moral aptitude or whatever it might be that Dad objects to, but to be perfectly honest she isn't quite certain that she knows him well enough to be able to. He's at least nice enough to consider her dateable, though, so that's...something, right? And really, she's put her best effort into looking presentable, so maybe things will go better than she expects!]

[Having successfully (or unsuccessfully, to be determined) completed her date with Nick, Jane is enjoying some time to herself. She's grown quite good at taking advantage of time alone to get to know and like herself, if she does say so herself, and what she knows about herself right now is that she's gotten entirely too much cotton candy. And thus, she's in luck when she spots Dirk in the crowd.

And of course, there is the added bonus of him not noticing her first. She sneaks up behind him and gives him a little poke in the back.] DIRK!

[Hoo hoo hoo, an oldy but a goody.]

[He's immune to being convinced things aren't bad, if that's a thing people can be immune from.]

You think it's better for our dull fate to be be self-inflicted?

[Murdoc isn't silly enough to assume he won't bump into at least one of his students at the festival, but he hasn't at all expected it to be quite so literal. Nor had he really ever expected to see Mituna of all people here.

He turns quite quickly, giving him a bewildered look before holding out a hand on the offchance he actually wants to take it.]

Hello. [He finds it strange that he needs to force himself to say that without singing it- oh hell he can feel more of it welling up.] I-is it... Me you're looking for? [Why the fuck is this happening.]

[And in turn, Bro does a lot of stupid shit in general that he makes up for in loving gestures. He's not sure if he regrets leaving Napoleon at home, but he's become rather attached to their symbolic dog.

No matter what's printed on them, Murdoc is positive the shirts are hideous but they're probably much more comfortable than his stuffy outfits. He certainly doesn't have chills, but that doesn't mean he doesn't feel incredibly odd as he proceeds with the words.]

No- [Yes- a word he meant to say.] And- No. I'm- NO. Loooosing control. [He gives Bro a bit of a desperate look.] 'Cause the power you're supplyin'... S'electrifyin'.

[Of course this is where little brothers come into it. The first thing Dirk says to Dave is pretty much unintelligible, considering he actually bit his lip to keep it from coming out. It definitely sounds musical, though.

He has to take a moment after that to get himself under control.]

Fuck that. I'm not here to perform.

[Thanks to a lifetime spent with Bro, Dirk's immediate reaction is to spin around. If Jane's not careful, she might get knocked in the head. The reaction, of course, is partially a reaction to being poked in one of the spots he's ticklish, but he's not about to tell that.]

[Luckily for him, his voice squeaks halfway through the word.]

[BRB giggling for a lifetime.]

I don't think I look anything like your mother at all, actually!

N-no. [He retreats slightly, but he's still watching what she's doing.] ... Ith that yourth?

[He lives for this kind of thing! As Marshall joins him after the set he's grinning widely, and he claps him on the back once he's close enough.]

Who's sayin' I didn't! Best way to get a front seat, bro.

[Oh shit, is that someone singing a line from The Lion King? It is!

Thor would find the older boy draping one arm over his shoulder moments later, gleefully singing the next line. To be honest, when it comes to Keith... it's probably nothing to do with the magic infusing the festival, and more utterly down to Keith himself.]

Well I've never seen a king of beasts with quite so little hair!

[Ooof. Quite an arm you have there Ellis.]

Ha! Nice! I'm kind of surprised at how similar this is to a Muggle rock show. Of course the pyrotechnics are WAY better here.

[It wouldn't normally be Mituna's kind of scene, but his brother wanted to come, so his father had to, and Mituna couldn't be left home by himself. He hadn't been having too much trouble so far, with a spell to help lower the noise levels, and he'd been keeping himself away from large crowds.

Bumping into a teacher had been the last thing he'd expected, but especially this one. He hesitates, but takes the offered hand and pulls himself up.]

Um. [Why does that line sound so familiar...] N.. no, thir. Have you theen my dad?

[So that makes two people who are clearly out of place amongst the crowd. Fantastic. Solidarity in not fitting in with hip music lovers. Admittedly, Murdoc has no complaints about the fact that he hasn't seen Mituna's father, but it is worrying.

He gives his shoulder a friendly pat, as if to discreetly brush him off before he attempts the next sentence.]

I've...not seen him. No. [He flinches a bit before hissing out:] I can see it in your eyes. I can. See it in your- HONESTLY, what on earth is going on here?
