WHAT: Jane’s birthday was the 9th of June. Time to celebrate :D
STATUS: Ongoing

Jane never makes much out of her birthday – it’s always at the end of the school year and in the middle of finals and there’s never much time to do anything. This year, it’s not any different; plus – it’s on a Sunday. Everyone’s doing other things and enjoying their weekend (or studying), and Jane herself is perched on a table somewhere outside and scrawling doodles and notes in one of her books, quill scratching over the parchment paper.

It's one of those hesitantly chaste kisses that teenagers start with and she pulls back, breathless and pink and embarrassed.

"Sorry. I -- lessons. That would be great."

[brothor]

He expected nothing more from Jane, but he still appreciates the kiss. Even if he didn't want her to pull away, he can't help being romantic.

"I would be happy to teach you." He smiles softly. "Only if you promise to allow me to take you night flying in the near future."

"That would be amazing.Yes. Please." Night flying? Sounded perfect. There's nothing she'd want more, really. He'd already done too much, though...so that he suggests it himself makes her feel a little better.

"You didn't have to do this, you know.."

[brothor]

“I had a feeling you might be interested.” He can’t help looking and sounding just a tiny bit smug about it too! It’s not every day he manages to luck out with a well picked present, he’s usually so awful at catching people’s drifts. It just feels particularly special to have done something right by Jane.

He laughs at her response and shakes his head as if he thinks she’s joking. “Of course I didn’t have to! There’s no fun in doing anything out of obligation!”

"Can we try now, then?" She looks at it hopefully, gaze moving between him and her newly acquired gift. She's terribly excited about it -- and doesn't particularly want to wait on the flying lesson for another day.

Thor keeps a steady stare as Jane’s gaze shifts, obviously unphased by the suggestion. If anything, his expression only lights up further at the prospect. He nods at her, very pleased with the fact that his present has had such a warm reception.

“We most certainly can. I presume that you know how to mount your broom?” Nope, nothing awkward about asking that.

Yeah, okay -- that makes Jane's face flare a little red, but she nods.

"I do. I mean...the simple stuff, I know. It's everything else that...kind of eludes me."

[brothor]

When he notices the flare of red in her cheeks, he seems confused. That is until the realisation hits him and he's going a little pink too. No matter, he's a quidditch captain and a professional! He'll breeze through this.

"Then we will take it slow! But I am certain it will be easier to teach if we're in the air." He nods, throwing a leg over his broom. "Shall we?" He's pushing himself up already anyway.
