WHAT: Jane takes a break from studying. Kind of.

Okay, looming exams? Maybe getting to Jane, just a little. So much so that she’s settled high atop the astronomy tower at night with her journal and sketchbook, half doodling, half studying, half thinking. Her mind is ever in the stars, or so Erik says. That will never change.

Even Jane realized when she needed a break though, and her textbooks, while certainly within reach, are closed and in her bag. She’s leaning back on her hands, head tipped up as the moon douses her in soft light, eyes closed.

She’s just asking to be pestered, isn’t she.

"I...don't, actually." She smiles weakly. "My godfather is still a little...well disbelieving, I guess. So I don't have a broomstick." And who has time to use one of the schools when there's studying to be done? She's been before, of course -- and loves it. She just... Doesn't get to much.

[brothor]

"Not to worry." He very, very hesitantly reaches out to brush his hand over hers, trying not to make it a big deal. "Perhaps sometime I shall have to escort you myself!" He looks incredibly enthusiastic about it, too. He loves flying, so flying with Jane is an incredibly exciting prospect.

[rosenbridges]

He's not the only one trying not to make it a big deal. Jane's face instantly heats, and she does her best to stay cool and calm and composed.

Too bad she's terrible at that.

"That -- um. Yeah, that would be great. Awesome, actually."

[brothor]

He notes the slight lack of composure, but obviously he doesn't remark upon it. He's not sure when he started to become fond of Jane, but now that it's more apparent he can't help being more and more of a goob around her.

"Sometime after the final match I will make time to do so." He nods in a sage manner. "It will be a nice send off for the summer."

Jane's kind of dreamily been watching Thor for a while. She hadn't really thought she'd ever had a shot until, well.

Now, she supposed. He'd started paying attention more and more and now here they were.

"You know I'll be there." She grins. "At the match, and for a lesson."

[brothor]

If Thor had known...Well. He's pretty damn dense toward the feelings of others. He's always respected Jane for certain, but he's only really just begun to find interest in dating at all! With a girl like Jane, he wants to know for certain that their relationship will succeed, though the romantic side of him wants to act on it straight away.

"Looking forward to it will help me get through exams." He laughs lightly before changing the subject. "What do you intend to do for summer?"

She can't say she'd mind.

"Oh...nothing special." She thinks on the talk she had with Tony, and lifts a shoulder. "Stargaze a lot with my godfather...get an early start on next year...maybe visit some friends. You?"

[brothor]

Thor, totally oblivious to Tony's meddling, seems a little disappointed with such a simple answer. Though he's pleased that it's so vague and open ended, plenty of wiggle room for Thor to invite himself around!!

"I should not be surprised." He gives her a knowing look. "It would not be a Jane holiday if it did not include Stargazing!" And now for a seamless invitation.... "You know, the stars in Norway are stunning? They are much clearer in the sky!"

[rosenbridges]

She can feel her cheeks heating. "I've never been to Norway before. Are...are you inviting me?"

She's heard about it, and it was on the destination list she and Selvig had put together. It just hadn't happened yet.

[brothor]

Thor can hardly blame her when he's going red himself! Who knew asking a girl to your house could be so embarrassing!

"I most certainly am!" He nods enthusiastically. "My family would love to have you as a guest, I'm sure!"

[rosenbridges]

"Well...then I'd love to."

Because really, nothing sounds better than spending some time with him over the holiday -- and not under the 'supervision' of Tony.

[brothor]

"Then it is a date--" Wow. That. He doesn't want her too read too much into that and think he's weird or presumptuous or anything like that. With a short laugh, he quickly adds on "-A date that we have set in the future! On a hypothetical calender! Hoorah!" Nice save!

[rosenbridges]

"Or....or it could be a date."

Way to go Jane. Way to make it more awkward than it needs to be.

[brothor]

Thor momentarily widens his eyes, giving Jane a brief, incredulous look before quickly exchanging the look for a more confident smile. Why wouldn’t she want to date someone as impressive as him! Yes. Perfectly reasonable. He totally isn’t bewildered and unfamiliar with the prospect.

“Yes!” Oh gods that sounded so incredibly eager. “If you would like for it to be a date, it certainly can be.” He looks a little smug, but there’s notable uncertainty in his voice.

She's marginally more confident than he is, but only just.

"I would. Yes. That woulod be nice. Relaly nice, actually."

[brothor]

Jane? More confident than Thor? What day is this! Pah! Thor is a beacon of confidence, though he's still finding his footing as far as crucial things such as Liking Girls go.

"Then a date it shall be!" He declares, beaming at her. "I am already most excited. I will have to plan something magnificent."
