[In the morning, far too early for anyone to be so chipper, Dolores can be found in the hospital wing, getting ready for another week. She's humming to herself, some jaunty song from the 1960s.

She might even be dancing a little, if the twirling from one bed to the next while she nods her head along with the tune is anything to go by.]

[B.]

[Later in the day, the nurse is out in the school grounds, sitting in the courtyard with her face turned up to the cold March sunshine. She's not really dressed for the weather, in her usual dress with a scarf wrapped around her neck, but she doesn't feel the cold in any case.]

[C.]

[In the evening, after most students have departed from dinner and gone back to their own dorms, she's sitting in the spot at the staff table that's always left open for her but one she so rarely takes.

She hadn't been there while everyone else was eating - it's been maybe ten minutes since she entered the room - but she's sitting there now, contemplative, rolling a red apple across the wood of the table in front of her, from one hand to the other.]

[And he does feel justified in that. Someone has to think about things, so it might as well be him.]

It's never been a problem before.

Hm.. I can give you something to settle your mind and give you a good night of sleep, but if you like.. I believe that a good talk can clear the mind as well as any potion.

Why? Talking isn't going to fix any of it.

Fix? No, of course not. But perhaps in talking you might find a way that you may fix it.

I don't know if there is a way to fix it, other than getting a time-turner.

[He sighs, and lets his shoulders slump a little.]

[Her expression turns sympathetic.]

What happened, dear..

Other than OWLS coming up?

[Well, OWLS are a big part of what he's worrying about, because even though he's caught himself up in his classes, those tests are more than just classes, and he can't help but worry about doing well on those.]

I think my friends are avoiding me.

Ah..

[These kids.. they have far more to worry about than they ought to.]

Why would they be doing that?

I mean... they're fifth years too, they're busy.

But they're either spending all their time with someone else, or just avoiding me, apparently. I saw Jane in the library a while ago and she barely even talked to me before she left.

Jane? Have you had an argument?

[Jane doesn't seem the type to just ignore her friends, after all..]

Not exactly. Maybe. I don't even fucking know.

[She lets out a little breath through her nose and gives him a small smile.]

Will you tell me what happened?

[He shrugs.]

We were talking about things that happened on Valentine's day. With the love potion. And I was under the impression that everything had been cleared up, only she just walked away.

[Oh, Dirk.. you don't understand women very well, do you?]

Have you been able to speak to her since?

[He doesn't understand anyone very well.]

No. Can't find her anywhere.

Ah... have you attempted to contact her with your journal?

Not yet. But knowing her she'd try to be polite no matter how she was feeling.

If that is the case, you may be able to use it to arrange to meet her in person.

[A-hah, she's not just a pretty face, this one.]

[Indeed she is not! Though Dirk seems unsure still, after a moment, he finally nods.]

That'd work.

[He doesn't fidget, but he does glance toward the door.]
