WHEN: 26th Monday, morning after the match.
WHERE: THe great Hall
WHAT: Breakfast time and Tony's showing off his bruises and scratches
STATUS: ONGOING


After his most agonising defeat at the hands of those damn pufflehuffs. Even though it was a good game, that's not the point. Tony comes into the great hall in the morning looking rather clean and refreshed despite the massive bruising on his face and scratches that are only just starting to scab over again, as he knocked them open in his sleep. 

It's obvious as he heads to Ravenclaw's table that he hasn't had is injuries seen too. They don't bother him all that much, they only sting when they're touched and he just really is in the mood for waffles so bad he doesn't even notice or care if people could be staring at him.


All in all he doesn't fell that bad that his team didn't win, though he does count it as he wasn't good enough as a captain. He made the decision the second the snitch was caught that he would be a better captain for the next match.

[Gives him a look that says that sounds kinda dumb, and unbelievable.]

We're investigating together the black magic usage here at Hogwarts. He proved himself quite useful during that shade incident.

Proved himself? How?

Oh, he stopped me from attempting suicide to see if the shade would object or if it was its agenda all along.

To be fair, there was a 95% chance I'd be perfectly alright afterwards.

[Tony just sort of stares at him for a moment]

You are starting to be a cause of great concern to me. I hope you know this.

Do I even want to know why you were going to do that?

Oh, perhaps I should mention I'm not suicidal.

[He rolled his eyes. No reason to be concerned.]

I told you, I needed to test the shade. If it was set upon us for ill, chances were the things it was saying were meant to drive the student body to suicide. But if its true purpose was to try and help in some way, it would be opposed to my taking my own life. If I couldn't track down the perpetrator, I could get closer to them with some insight on their motive at least. See?

While you're theory has merit. It has holes. For one, I didn't have a shade, and if things are out to kill us. A 'celebrity' target is always going to get attention from others. Besides. Creepy things have been happening since Summer camp. It's probably just death eaters trying to scare us from school.

[He says the last part with a sneer, and gives his eggs an indignant look.]

Also, good. On the whole not suicidal thing.

Your theory has merit. I was a bit desperate at the time but I don't think it would have been a poor choice all the same. John just happened to prove more interesting at the time than going through with the plan.

I should probably be insulted that that needed to be stated, though.

And you're still insisting he's just an assistant? Really? Nothing more?

[For once, Tony's not making this sexual.]

You could be insulted, but you'd be taking the wrong message away here.

[Sighing he rolls his eyes.]

No, you stated that you were my friend.

Yeah, because I am. That's what I'm trying to say. That' what is 'else' other than assistant. Also best friend and boyfriend too... Also Girlfriend.

[Sherlock shrugged]

John said he was willing to be my assistant. If he wants to be my friend he can be. It doesn't really have an impact on our interaction.

[arrogantalloy]

You know. One day. I'm going to take you to New York with me. And I'm going to leave you with some behavioural studies hall. They could learn just so much.

[Tony shakes his head.]

You never get old. I'm telling you that right now.

[Sherlock picks a grape off a bunch and flicks it at him.]

[Bats the grape away as it approaches and bounces into his cup.]

Aww, Does Sherlock want to go to big expensive New York with his best friend in the whole world?

[Yeah, he's smirking right now.]

Because if you really want to, I only really go over in Summer.

I can hardly trust you now not to offer me up to science. Sorry, Stark, but it'll have to be just you and Bruce in that lonely penthouse.

To be fair. They'd be my companies scientists. You'd be in good hands.

You're forgetting Jarvis. Also, Bruce wasn't the only one there last time.

My desire to visit the colonies continues to dwindle.

I'm sure you'll get him there alone eventually.

[He clears his throat at him.]

I'm on my own with him plenty of times. You know that. You can keep making this witty little assertions all you want. But we both know it's not like that.

[Sherlock shrugs. They're in the dining hall; perhaps not the right place to bring up such topics? Eh, he'll run with it being on John's Bingo card and dropping it.]

[He raises an eyebrow all the same. Most observant kid in school, thanks.]

[Yeah, because Tony's always worried about making a spectacle of himself. pft. He fishes the grape out of his glass then refreshes it before drinking.]

You know he's my best friend. That is what you know, and you also know that I spend most of my time not in class or in our room, in corners with girls.

[And pretty much all of that was not directed at anyone other than Sherlock.]

So does John from what I hear. Between the two of you I'm sure to learn plenty about standard courtship rituals.
