[Jude's waiting just outside the castle, having already gotten her permission slip examined thoroughly. Now she's just waiting for Stephen so they can go on that not date. The one she's still kinda dreading.]

[It wasn't long before he showed up. He nodded at her in greeting.] Hey. Been waiting long?

[She gives him a small wave.] No, just a few minutes.

[She figures there's no use standing around exchanging smalltalk, so she takes the initiative and heads in the direction of Hogsmeade.]

So yeah, shrieking shack cool with you?

Yeah. I've never actually taken the time to check it out.

Really? It was the first thing I went to see when I turned thirteen!

Well, I only ever go to Hogsmeade if I run our of things, or I need to get away from crazy exes.

[She laughs. It feels good to talk to him, momentarily forgetting how stressed out she'd felt about the whole thing. She can't remember talking to him this easily for a while now.]

You gonna tell me what it is, or am I not allowed in on the secret?

... Right, yeah. Good thing I'm not blonde anymore, or I'd definitely be a stereotype right now.

A long time ago... I dyed my hair before coming to Hogwarts. But shut up, don't tell anyone. I mean, I know my hair's not a natural red or anything, but I mean...blonde. I don't think anyone really suspects.

I never would've guessed. I think red suits you better.

My mom would disagree with you there... but thanks. I think I like red the best, but sometimes I've considered going back to blonde. It's one of those things that I've just kinda flipflopped around on.
