[It took a moment or two for the shock of falling to wear off before the Gryffindor grumbled, feeling cold ice on his back even through the warming charm he had on his clothes. Karkat placed the palms of his hands on the frozen lake beneath him, lifting himself up to glare at the other, voice a low growl that punctuated each word.]

Fuck. you. douchebag.

[He was pretty sure it wasn't cold enough for this. Anyway, that doesn't stop him from a big heavy coat and a nice long scarf. There's a mouth and room for a pipe somewhere under all the scarf.]

[And Cassie doesn't think to let go until Georgia's already down. Here. Have her fall messily more or less on top of Georgia. She first looks like she's in pain, but then she grins and starts laughing.]

Wow, Georgia. We're not good at this.

Oh wow, are you under cover?

[Cassie quietly skates up and looks up at the sky to see what Gamzee is looking at. She proceeds to lie down beside him, but doesn't take up the habit of honking.]

You've found a nice spot.

[Luckily that is exactly what she is going to do.

Yeah, it's nice and chill out here. [He honks again, softly, at his own joke, then points up at the sharp clouds drifting by on the pale blue winter sky backdrop.] Brill motherfuckin' view, too.

[The look Gamzee gave him back, was for a split second, just ... odd. Weirdly knowing, and far too adult. And then one of the taller boy's huge, goofy grins split his face.] I figured you'd just spell me out, bro ...

... nah, not like that. Like, you know. [He tries to show her, by spinning in a circle, but he ends up on his ass, too, cackling.] Not like that, either!

[She can't help but giggle a little.]

It's my first time ice skating.

Hello there, Naveen! [She says with a smile and a little flutter of her eyelashes.] I was hoping you might be out here.

[He scowled before snorting, attempting to move in order to get back up from where he'd fallen. When it appeared he couldn't get back up, Karkat just slumped back down on the ice, crossing his arms over his chest.]

What the fuck was I supposed to do? Accio Gamzee? It wouldn't have fucking worked.

[After a second, she starts laughing too, it was all so silly.]

Why not? [Gamzee scrambles and slides and skids to get over to Karkat, leaning over him and getting far too much in his personal space, still grinning. His breath frosts the air, and smells of peppermint and chocolate and tobacco.]

Man, not me! [cheerfully - basically, he has no excuse] I;m the wrong motherfucking shape, though!

You mean you're out of shape? [She unsteadily starts to try to get up.]

[When Gamzee gets close enough, Karkat reaches out, flicking the taller Slytherin's nose with his index finger.]

Laws of physics, dumbass. You're taller and weigh more than me, it would've made me go flying to you.

[He blinks when she kneels in front of him, wondering what the hell she was going to do.]

What the fuck does CPR have to do with anything? The fucking squid will get to us before you could even fucking pull me to shore.

[Guess who's never been on the ice before? Apparently Xion (incorrectly) assumed that being experienced with water meant that she would do well with FROZEN water.

This is Xion stumbling and sliding COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL trying to get a hold on something solid to keep her up.]

[Gamzee blinks, pulling his head back sharply, then regains his smile.] That ain't so motherfuckin' bad.

[Then he somehow manages to switch the cigarette from one side of his mouth to the other without touching it, slips behind Karkat, plants his knees on the ice, and scoops the smaller boy up as though it's no big thing, hauling him back to the relatively safety of the snow.]

I sure do miss those motherfuckers. [agrees, having no idea what she's talking about] All with those long motherfuckin' necks. I guess that'd be pretty weird, having to swallow for so long. [thoughtfully]

[mariaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa]

[Guess what, Xion? You bump into a grumpy-looking Gryffindor who almost looses his balance when you try to grab onto him.]

Huh? [looks down at himself, blinking] Nah ... I mean, I think this is the shape what I'm supposed to be in? I ain't no motherfuckin' good at Transfig. [will offer her a shoulder to lean on, to help get herself up?]

[He's silently grateful as the other starts dragging him back to shore, crossing his arms over his chest with a small grumble. Gamzee's picked him up a few times before so it's no big deal when he does, and he'd rather be back on the snow regardless, huddled in his blanket cocoon.]
