Quidditch 101 with Greg Lestrade!!

WHO: Greg Lestrade, Arthur and Victoria Kirkland on Saturday, and Hufflepuffs interested in trying out for the team and who might want some tips for it before the real tryouts. Saturday is locked to Arthur and Victoria, while Sunday is open to Hufflepuffs and other people who might be at the field on that day.

WHAT: Saturday: Greg promised to help out Arthur and Victoria on their Quidditch skills. Sunday: Greg offers to take a look at what the skills of interested Hufflepuff Quidditch players and provide suggestions to improve their game before tryouts.

[Thankfully, the good weather from Friday has stretched over the weekend. If your name is Arthur or Victoria Kirkland, than Greg will be waiting for you on Saturday for your respective slots. Hufflepuff team prospects, come by on Sunday instead. Whatever it is, Greg's here to give pointers on improving your game. Gatecrashers are welcome on Sunday, but the whole field was booked for the private lessons on Saturday.]

[Victoria does pretty well for her self, blocking most of the balls but not always the more trickier passes. She almost falls to stop the last ball coming past, but manages to grab her broom after giving a small squeal of surprise.]

[Almost immediately he's right at her side, helping her to balance herself back on her broom again.]

Careful now! You alright Victoria?

[nobodyscrumpet]

AH! Thank you.

[She settles herself on the broom.]

I just over balanced a little.

[She looks at him]

You got over here fast, are you sure you should be a beater?

[di_intraining]

[It's only when she's properly seated again does he himself relax slightly.]

Beaters have got to be fast too if we want to catch the Chasers. We can't outfly Seekers of course, and we might not be able to match Chasers most of the time, but we can try to keep up.

[nobodyscrumpet]

I'm not really fast on a broom. It's why I'm going for keeper, but I've got really good grip.

[She gives a shy smile]

Otherwise I would have fallen just now.

I saw that. It's good, and you can keep your grip on the Quaffle really well too. I think you've got a really good shot at this Victoria, if you can pull off some of the saves you did just now.

[nobodyscrumpet]

[Almost beams at him.]

You really think?

[di_intraining]

Yeap. I do indeed. What, you don't trust my Quidditch knowledge Victoria? I'm slightly hurt.

[He's definitely in a good mood, he's starting to try and tease her a little.]

[nobodyscrumpet]

[And then she laughs!]

Well all I know is you can throw things at girls and try to catch them if they fall.

[She gives him a teasing smile back]

Well, now that I know the standard you've set for me, I'm glad I know I have a chance to exceed your expectations.

[nobodyscrumpet]

[Still looks very amused]

How ever will you top yourself?

With my charm, skill and good looks?

[Ok he is starting to sound real cheesy.]

[nobodyscrumpet]

[Swats at him playfully.]

Oh Gregory, you really are too much.

[di_intraining]

[He laughs before he shakes his head.]

I am getting better at this whole teasing thing, aren't I? Makes sense though, I'm learning from the best.

[nobodyscrumpet]

Well I only teach those worth teaching, of course. And you're learning fantastically.

[di_intraining]

Careful, one day I might get as good as you are.

[nobodyscrumpet]

After a lot of practice.

[di_intraining]

And speaking of practice, you want to go a few more rounds? I might try some of the more trickier Quidditch moves.

[nobodyscrumpet]

You know. I would very much enjoy that.

[di_intraining]

Fantastic. Let's get started then.

[He'll spend the next twenty minutes practising with her. These moves are obviously a lot sneakier before, with feints and a bit of fancy flying. Still, she should be able to catch most of the Quaffles.

When they're done and over with, Greg pumps his fist in the air, a giant grin across his face.]

Now that's the way to do it!

[As they training progresses, Victoria starts catching on faster and faster to his moves.]

Well, that would be because I have a good teacher.

[She smiles at him properly.]

[di_intraining]

[He returns back to the ground, landing with a solid thump. There's a thrill that's running through his body though, brought on by adrenaline and the fun he had been enjoying with Victoria through Quidditch.]

Honestly I'm not sure why you haven't tried out before, you're really good at this!

[He can't help the big grin that's spreading across his face; he always loves a good game and to see Victoria perform well makes him proud.]

[She comes down herself and lands delicately. Then takes out a hankercheif and dabs at some sweat that had formed around her face and neck during the practice.]

Because I was never interested before now. If Arthur hadn't admitted to wanting to try out, I would have continued to not be interesting.

[She smiles back at him, pleased at how training went and thinking that Greg really was quite a good person to help her for try outs despite being from a different house.]

I guess the Ravenclaws owe your cousin then; they might've missed out on a damn good Beater. I think you've got a really good chance of making the team. They'd be stupid to not take you on.

[nobodyscrumpet]

[She grins at him.]

"Damn good" is it? Oh well, now you really are flattering me, Gregory.

[She blushes a little.]
