WHAT: Ravenclaw and Gryffindor are rained out of house and home, and are forced to bunk with the Slytherin/Ravenclaws for a week.

He does mean well, though. I swear he doesn't act the way he does all the time... just ninety percent or so.

Well yeah, don't tell anyone I said this, but he does act better around me whenewer no one else's around. Y'know... like a father does to his son.

I'm just... glad to hawe him in my life. I wouldn't dare speak horribly of my father, but... I feel it really is better with him workin' here an' bein' around.

[She blows some hair out of her face, trying to ignore the way her stomach churns at the thought of her own father.]

Sure, I guess that's okay. If you like parental bonding.

[He runs his hand through his hair, most of it slicking back. He'll... fix it in a moment or two. ]

I. I'm just really glad I'we got this chance.

[She bites back her growing jealousy and manages a strangled smile. God knows when she's going to see her dad again.]

You should enjoy it while you can. [She pauses, wondering if she should say this.] He's not going to be around forever.

[He looks back at her hearing that, his frown grew and he turned away. He spoke with such bitterness in his voice.] I know that.

... I didn't hawe this opportunity with my mother.

[She winces at that, mentally kicking herself. Here he was being nice enough to snap her out of it and she was being an insensitive bitch. She rubbed her neck, glancing away from him.]

Neither did I, and now I'm going to outlive everyone I care about.

[And... now he's sort of mentally backing himself up because he doesn't want to look like this is really affecting him.]

Guess that's life. Meet people, get to know 'em, and in the end eweryone ends up goin' at some point. [Sigh.] Though it seems to wary. It's really a juggle of giwe or take, ewen if you don't know if the person you're tellin' your day to or the person you get into an argument with might end up takin' a turn for their worse.

Guess that's about right.

[She tries not to sound bitter, she really does. The idea of going through life and watching everyone around her die is something she's been thinking about since she was turned. It's a scary prospect. She purses her lips together.]

I can't imagine how it'll be like to live nearly two hundred years, let alone eternity.
