WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!

Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour

_{[Dirk has finished most of his shopping and is sitting at one of the outside tables with a cup of orange sorbet. For now, he's actually not as hyper and just content with people watching.]}

[Jake took a good amount more time collecting his supplies than Dirk did. For one, he got distracted a great number of times along his way. Neytiri regularly had to grab him by the sock and pull him away to continue acquiring the things necessary for his glasses.]

[The only thing he hadn't gotten yet was his wand, and he was starting to lose some steam. He'd been out getting all of these wonderful things for hours, now! When Florean Fortescue's came into view Jake lit up all over again, and crouched down to awkwardly hoist Neytiri into his arms.]

Come on old girl, let's go have us some sweet treats, eh?

[He paused before actually going into the parlour at the blonde, sunglasses-wearing boy with his cup of orange sorbet sitting at one of the tables. He set Neytiri back on her feet.]

By golly-- Dirk, isn't it?

<sub>[The blond is almost confused when he hears his name. But once he turns toward the direction he heard the voice from, lo and behold, there it is! A skull shirt and glasses.

Finally.]</sub>]

Yes! And you're Jake, right? _{[He almost topples over the table in effort to close the distance.]}

[Up until this point Roxy has bee happily stuffing her face with strawberry sorbet and twirling her new wand between her fingers. But when she hears a new voice and Dirk says the magic word her head jerks toward Jake and her face breaks into an enormous grin.]

Jake!

[Hope you don't mind being tackled by two clingy blondes, Mr. English.]

[Oh good galloping gobstoppers on go-karts--]

[He goes really still right at first, startled and maybe a little bit alarmed, until Neytiri hops up into Roxy's chair in his peripheral vision and just gives him an unimpressed cat face. He had so very been looking forward to meeting both Dirk and Roxy, and here they were, and he wasn't going to screw this up.]

[A grin quirked its way onto his features, melted into a huge smile, and with a quiet, somewhat awkward laugh, he brought his arms up around each of them.]

Well I'm quite discombobulated having run into you both without time to prepare myself. It's such a dadblastedly wonderful honor to meet you both.

[He may have gotten just a hair choked up.]

Don't be silly, Jake! _{[Seriously! There's nothing to be honoured about. Dirk's really happy to be able to meet Jake too. This is like the best thing ever. Words are failing him, really. He doesn't know how to articulate.]}

I'm glad you're here.

I'm quite frequently silly, that command is a bit like telling me not to breathe.

[He finds himself quite extremely enamored with the fact that they're not letting go. Wow, hugs are really fucking great. Wow wow wow he missed these.]

Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour

[Tony walks towards the Ice Cream Parlour but doesn't seem overly interest in it as he is paying attention to a small book sized device in his hand while mumbling to himself.

After a moment he stops outside the parlour and looks around. He's having reception issues with his tablet. It's annoying.]

_{[Tony might not be paying attention, but Dirk is. He feels like maybe he's seen this guy before. Did he go to Dave's party? Or maybe if he's a student, Dirk saw him in passing during one of his trips to Hogwarts?]}

I doubt it's going to work. My iPhone has a shit signal here.

[Tony blinks at his screen for a moment, then looks over at Dirk. If he met Dirk at all he hasn't remembered him.]

Technology has always been the biggest downfall of the wizarding world. But mine normally has a strong enough signal here.

[Tony taps at the screen then after a moment frowns and turns of the screen before tucking it under his arm.]

You look familiar.

[He might not remember peoples names or faces. But Strider's are kind of distinctive enough to have at least a slight place in Tony's mind.]

There might be some sort of interference. It's only slightly overcast, so that hardly counts for a decent excuse, though.

_{[He eats some more of his ice cream.]}

You do too. I think you might've come to my bro's party? _{[On that note he hasn't even consciously realised he's started referring to Dave as that.]} D'you know Dave?

Well this is Stark tech. Normally we don't do interference, though really it wouldn't be the first time that I an atmosphere with dense magical properties have gotten in the way before.

[Tony wouldn't have been able to make the connection that he's calling Dave anything out of the ordinary.]

Oh, so you're a Strider then. Hair like that, should have known really. So then what? The littlest Strider is coming to Hogwarts then?

_{[This makes Dirk's eyebrows raise slightly.]} Can I look at it? I haven't seen any of their newer products in person since the last time I was in New York. I mean, I guess I could've gone to an electronics store here, but I don't even know if they carry Stark products? Regardless, I haven't been to many stores in the past few months.

I guess you could say that, unless there's someone even younger than me that I'm not aware of.

[arrogantalloy]

[Tony shrugs and drops into a vacant chair at the table and puts the tablet down in front of Dirk casually.]

That's not even out in the US yet. Due for release for Christmas, but most Stark tech is a boutique item here, so you're not going to be finding it in Tescos.

[Tony gives him a grin.]

_{[Dirk looks over the tablet with genuine interest and tries touching on the screen, so see how well the transitions and whatnot work.]}

How well do you think this'll compete with Apple? _{[A pause.]} How do you have access to this, anyway?

It would be a little disconcerting, actually.

Apple wishes it had S.I. contracts.

[Tony smirks at the question.]

Tony Stark, nice to meet you kid.

You might have a point there.

_{[Hold on, Dirk's jaw is dropping. For someone who's met a lot of famous people before, he's having a hard time handling this smoothly.]}

Whoa.

Name's Dirk.

[Tony smirks a little more. Because really, not enough people have that reaction in the UK to him. What with him being a bigger deal in the US]

"Dirk Strider". You've got quite a name there, really sort of movie star like.

_{[No one ever understands how nice it is to be so readily identified as a Strider. Nevermind that's what he is; this is just his hero-worship speaking.]}

Actually, I don't know. Maybe doing more boring clothes shopping. I decided I wanted ice cream instead.

Well at least there's something we can agree on there.

[He gestures towards the tablet.]

What do you think? It's only meant to be for business, but hey, if you can figure it out I can maybe suggest opening it up to a student grant.

_{[Dirk returns his attention to the tablet, scrolling through the apps. Some of them he opens to test out.]}

It seems fairly user-friendly to me. It transitions smoother than the iPad, too, which actually says a lot considering those work well too. _{[He pauses.]} You know what'd be cool? If you could just keep the tablet laying flat and it had a holographic option for presentations or even skype calls.
