[So this nerdy little girl is in some desperate need of some new papers and quills. Some ink, too. She doesn't know much about quills and parchment and blahblahblah because, well, she only ever uses them at Hogwarts.

So she's going to take a while to pick through the various bottles of inks. Feel free to approach and help!]
brothor: (Too strong)

[personal profile] brothor 2012-08-22 12:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Thor doesn't particularly like paper, but he thinks it smells nice. He's staring boredly at some quills before he catches sight of Jane from the other side of the shop. He isn't sure why, but he's always so terribly excited to see her. Moreso than he's excited to see everyone else.

Thor, of course, doesn't get shy or awkward, he gets louder and more obnoxious. He doesn't hesitate to tramp toward her, leaning over her shoulder curiously.]

Have you ever tasted ink?
fosteringhope: (snrk)

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-08-22 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jane glances over at him, grinning brightly. She knows Thor Odinson (it's kind of hard to not know him), and speaking to him has always been an experience. To say the least.]

Sometimes I get ink on my hands, but I've never tasted it on purpose.
brothor: (Against the light)

[personal profile] brothor 2012-08-22 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Please don't, it tastes terrible! [He gives her a knowing look.] Are you looking forward to school?
fosteringhope: (eyyy)

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-08-22 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll try not to. Do you taste ink often? [She tucks some hair behind her ear, nodding.] Yeah. Yeah, I am. Are you looking forward to school, Mister Odinson?
brothor: (The look in your eyes)

[personal profile] brothor 2012-08-22 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Only once! I thought it was my glass and I took a sip. [He reels at the memory.] You do not need to call me mister! Call me Thor! We are friends. [SMILE.]

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-08-22 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
How do you mistake an ink jar for a glass? [Don't answer that.] Well, alright. Thor. Are you looking forward to school?
brothor: (The derpiest)

[personal profile] brothor 2012-08-23 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I was so very focused on my studies. I study a lot. Lots of things. [The laziest smile.] I am looking forward to seeing my friends.
fosteringhope: (h e h)

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-08-26 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
Lots of things? What kinds of things? [What a babe. Jane clears her throat, turning back to her ink selections.] I'm looking forward to having things to do.
brothor: (Blow a fuse)

[personal profile] brothor 2012-08-28 08:51 am (UTC)(link)
Err. History. Potions. Extra things. Things they don't teach others. [He stops staring at her and faces the ink as well, side eyeing the red.] I am also. It has been quite a slow summer.
fosteringhope: (side eyes)

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-09-01 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
And you're using this knowledge...Wisely? [One day she'll be better at this.] I can't imagine they're that slow. You have a little brother, don't you?
brothor: (Scream and shout and do laugh)

[personal profile] brothor 2012-09-03 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
But of course!

I do, and he does make things lively, but I miss my friends so much.

[Tony grins at her as he sees her riffling through the inks and slips over to her picking up a bottle of soft blue ink.]

You know, this one changes colour depending on how focused you are when writing with it. So I'm thinking with you, It's always going to be midnight blue.
fosteringhope: (w...hat...)

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-08-22 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
So what would it be for you?

[Oh, Tony. Do you ever stop?]
arrogantalloy: (T: 024 Really sticking with that huh)

[personal profile] arrogantalloy 2012-08-22 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[He really doesn't]

Depends what it is I'm working on.

[His grin gets broader.]

Homework we're looking at, you know, mustard. Because it's boring, un-challenging too straightforward. Notes to girls, well that's always going to be red. And when it comes to muggle engineering and programming, that's probably the deepest blue imaginable. Though I tend not to use that ink when doing that. I keep running out.

[He holds out the bottle to see if she'll take it.]

So, what does the rest of the day have in store for you?
fosteringhope: (science is important okay)

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-08-22 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[It doesn't work as well as he thinks it does.]

Muggle engineering? I wasn't aware of any purebloods that care for science.

[Yep, just gonna ignore everything else he said.]
arrogantalloy: (T: 019 Do you hear yourself)

[personal profile] arrogantalloy 2012-08-22 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Some purebloods take up genealogy and blood purity, others choose to be insane. Me I like to be all weird and eccentric by enjoying the finer details of making an engine run at peak performance or wiring a circuit board.

[Counts this as a swing and a miss, for now. Doesn't mean he's going to leave her alone though.]

It's not brewing a potion or subjugating those with muggle histories. But hey, it's something to pass the time with.

[Realising she's not going to take the ink, he puts it back down, idly glancing at a few of the other bottles.]
fosteringhope: (Default)

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-08-22 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[She picks up a bottle, making sure it's just plain black ink.]

There's nothing wrong with science, but try telling a traditionalist that. They wouldn't listen to me in the first place, but I still wish there was someone who would listen.

[Woops she's rambling.]
arrogantalloy: (T: 030 I can smile when I want)

[personal profile] arrogantalloy 2012-08-22 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, me. I don't tell them anything, and I'm them. Technically. At least I am in America.. Or something.

[He shakes his head, looking like he really doesn't care.]

And hey, I like science, I have a basic understanding of well... Most of it really. Enough for me to even tilt my pure nose down low enough to hear you speak.

[He's being fairly sarcastic with his words.]

Really, talking shop with Bruce is fun and all, but he has a habit of just mumbling into his books after a while. Still not sure he realises he does this.
fosteringhope: (guuuurl)

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-08-26 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
You're still a pureblood. Even if the Stark name isn't big in Europe, you automatically hold more sway than a Muggleborn.

[Is she bitter? Nooooo, not her.

She shakes her head, smiling.]

Bruce gets really absorbed. Not to mention he's not that great with people to begin with.
arrogantalloy: (T: 011 slight grin)

[personal profile] arrogantalloy 2012-08-26 11:33 am (UTC)(link)
It's really just the way pure bloods are. Staunch traditionalists who only want things their way. Muggles are probably the same at times.

Besides, half bloods and less are more interesting to talk to anyway.

Not that great implies he can actually interact with someone and use eye contact at the same time.
fosteringhope: (you can't be serious)

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-09-01 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
It's human nature to fear change, I suppose.

[She shrugs, sizing Tony up.]

So horrible is a better word for it?
arrogantalloy: (T: 022 Smug look)

[personal profile] arrogantalloy 2012-09-03 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
For most people. Not all, I've never had a problem with change.

[If he knows he's being sized up, he doesn't react to it.]

I'd say more painfully awkward to the point you want to hold a charity ball for him.

[As it happens, this nerdy little boy is in the habit of accidentally knocking his inkwell over when he gets excited about something, so he's in desperate need of ink too.

He's just going to walk over and join this girl in picking through the bottles.]

I've never been able to understand why there are so many different kinds of ink.
fosteringhope: (eyyy)

[personal profile] fosteringhope 2012-08-26 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know why there needs to be ink with magical properties. It seems more like a hassle than anything else.

[She speaks from experience. Why would you make ink that sparked? Really, why?]
