WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!

[Meenah, why are you bullying other kids into giving you their pocket money? Stop that.]

[That would be mum's hand on Meenah's shoulder.]

But muuuuuuuuuuum. [She deliberately drags out the whine as she looks over her shoulder, crossing her arms.] That guppy was beggin' to be picked on. He looked like such a weenie I couldn't kelp myself.

Don't you 'but muuuuuuuuuuuum' me. We have been over this problem you have of acting out and picking fights in public. I don't care what you think they look like, you are not to go and start a fuss.

Tcht. [Meenah shoves her hands into her pockets.] You never cared about anything like this before, so why are you trying to now?

[Ouch. That one stings. But Constance isn't going to show that.]

[Yeah, she probably could have phrased that one better. She bites her bottom lip before turning her head away, running the back of a hand under her nose with a small sniff.]

Well, you still don't need to pick on others. There are better ways to make people respect you.

What if it makes me feel better? Yelling and being angry at you doesn't do me any good because you never glubbin' listen to me!

I'm listening right now. I'm trying to listen more. I can't do that if all you do is scream that you hate me once and then jump out the window to go Merlin-knows-where. Do you know how many nights I've had your gran look over your sister while I've gone out looking for you? Never have been able to find you. And that scares me.

[Constance's voice is gradually getting louder, but she doesn't seem to notice.]

It finally hit me - thanks to your gran - that you and Feferi weren't going to be young forever, that you would be gone and out of the house and I wouldn't even know you anymore. I'm trying to fix that.

[Constance mightn't notice it, but Meenah sure does. Her lips curl downward into that usual sneer, hands shifting in her pockets to clench into fists before she speaks, her own voice rising.]

I was with fronds! Merlin, mum, I can take care of myself just fine! Like I've been doing for the last glubbin fourteen years! An' you know what? Suddenly invitin' him back into our lives when he had nothing to do with them in the first place? I don't want or need a dad who's never around just like my glubbin' mother!

Coming back looking like you'd been in who knows what kinds of fights? I can tell when a healing potion's been applied same as any witch can.

[It's right then that her voice cracks.]

...if something happened to me, and your gran wasn't there, you needed to know you had blood family out there. I should have told you sooner. That, you can completely blame on me.

[Oh glub, why did she have to pull out the 'if something happened to me' line? Meenah hunched her shoulders a little, now looking a bit less of an angry teenager and more unsure of herself.]

I could look after us. [No, you couldn't, Meenah.] An' nothin's gonna happen to you, mum. You'll die wrinkled and old before that.

[Fef had been looking for Meenah everywhere, she spots her from a distance and runs up to her]

Meeeeeeenah!! Stop picking on these kids, if you need money, you could of just asked me!

[She stops as soon as she hears Feferi's voice. The kid's lucky...this time. She shrugs, tilting her head in consideration. She could've but...]

I didn't want to bother you for it, Fef.

[bubblingover]

[She mouths a 'sorry' to the kid before leading Meenah away, to where, fef had no idea at that moment.]

You are my sister, you are never going to be a bother to me! I told you a 100 times, you can come to me for things Meenah, i am always here for you!!

[Meenah she going to start lecturing you sooooon, ruuuun!]

[Another lecture? Is it her birthday?? She pauses, following her twin as a small smile curled.]

But you'll leave one day, Fef. You can't keep looking after me forever. You'll have guppies of your own and a husband who I may or may not have to beat the shit out of if he ever hurt you. [Meenah shrugs.] Besides, you're my little sister, and it's gonna keep you back if I have to rely on you so much.

[bubblingover]

[Is sure is!! On top of that fef just going to hold Meenah's hand cause you know she likes holding hands with her sister.]

Meenah, i am your sister! Your twin at that! I will never leave you, i mean yeah one day, i might get married and have children, but that one day is far off from now, were only 14!!

[She sighs, squeezing meenah's hand to reassure her.]

I will look after you no matter what happens! We've been together through thick and thin, i won't let go of you, not now, not ever.

[fishhitler]

[She flushes a bit with embarrassment when Feferi takes her hand, slouching and shoving her free hand into her pocket, her shoulders relaxing. Guess who has abandonment issues?]

Thanks, Fef. I kind of needed to hear that.

[bubblingover]

[She can tell that her sister is way more relaxed now, which makes fef know that at least she is being listen too, she wants her sister to know that she loves her and that she will never abandon her! So she giggles and drags her to ice cream parlour.]

Anytime Meenah! I feel like ice cream, do you want to come with me to get some?

[fishhitler]

[Fef is pretty much the only one Meenah will listen to aside from Aranea after all. She lets her drag her to Fortescue's, sliding into step with her twin sister.]

Does that mean you're buying?

[bubblingover]

[She can see Fortescue juuuust around the corner, she begins to swing both her and her sister's hand.]

Of course, you couldn't come if i wasn't!!

[fishhitler]

[Oh god really, Fef? Hand swinging? Meenah might die of embarrassment if she didn't love you so much.]

[Fef being embarrassing in public? Fef will never do such a thing! Never! Fef is not secretly a 5 year old around her sister, fef is just really excited to get ice cream with her sister! It will be over soon, they nearly at the door at any rate.]

Your only saying that cause your by-two-minutes-younger sister is buying you ice cream!

[And Meenah will be Meenah and try to hide the fact that she's glad Feferi is happy by attempting to sulk about it.]
