WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!

Magical Menagerie

[Shiemi is browsing the shelves for something to treat her little friend, a teddy bear hamster named Nii, who is currently sitting in between the folds of her kimono. She sticks out a little because of her attire, but she doesn't seem to notice.]

Let's see... Maybe a new toy? You've almost chewed through the last one I got you...

[ Thobari has experience with dogs, but not much else-- his grandfather wanted to get him an owl, but-- wow! Is that a kimono? ]

Uh, hey, are you lost?

Oh! [Seeing that she's being spoken to she smiles at him.] I guess maybe a little! I'm looking for the, um... [She points to the little hamster snug in her kimono.] Small rodent section...?

O-oh. [ Well, he didn't see that at first, but it's kind of... cute? He was more surprised about what she's wearing anyway, but he's not rude enough to just ask. ]

I think there's a rat section in the back. It's kind of hard to see, cause most people get owls, and y'know, owls eat rats so...

[She keeps on smiling at him.] It's understandable! I'm not very good with birds and I don't think they like me very much... [She reaches up to scratch Nii-chan's head with a finger.] But Nii-chan likes me! We've been together since I first started school and... O-Oh, I'm rambling aren't I? [Her face flushes a little.]

Wha-? Nono, it's fine! [ Thobari flushes too, but more out of nerves than anything. What a weird girl, apologizing for that? She's not nearly as chatty as Maron... ]

Birds don't like me much, either. [ He sighs. Yeah, that's why he doesn't really have a pet. ] I'm better with dogs, but they don't let us take those to school.

[flowerpowered]

[Her smile returns, a little shakey.] Dogs are cute! Which kind do you like or do you like them all? I think terriers are very adorable... [As she speaks she fidgets a little.]

I like big dogs. [ Here's a subject something Thobari can get behind too. ] My grandfather has a black labrador. It'd be really nice if I could take him with me...

Oh, he must be so pretty! [Heh.] Big dogs make me a little nervous. Especially since they're so much bigger than me usually... B-But that doesn't mean I don't like them!

[Inhale.] Do you have another pet you can bring with you to school?

Well, there's Shiratama, but she's my neighbors' cat. [ A really weird cat, at that. ] They keep insisting I should take her with me, but I think she should live with them! You know, since it's their cat and all...

[flowerpowered]

Oh, do you like cats? Or just that one... [She considers this.] Maybe you should consider getting a kitten?

I don't really like cats, but... [ Shiratama is kind of mean to him, let's be honest. ]

Hmmm, what about rodents? [She moves to pull Nii-chan out, holding her carefully in both hands. She looks completely chill with this.] Like Nii-chan! She's a hamster.

Ah-- uhm, well... I don't like rodents so much, either. [ Shirata eats rodents, but he's not about to ruin her day with that information. ]

Yours is cute, though!

[eyebrows_and_twintails]

Maybe a stick would be better suited for him.

Huh? [She blinks up at the girl.] Do you really think he'd like a stick? It might be too big for him...

[She laughs a bit.] What else would keep him from destroying everything you give him?

That is true... [She considers this!] Do you have a pet hamster too?

[eyebrows_and_twintails]

Of course not. [She scoffs.] I have two cats.

[And Jade's out getting some more pet food for her...cat. Yes cat. White cat named Bec.

Shiemi's attire, however, causes her to pause. Her eyes light up once she's had a better look and she approaches the other girl breezily, practically skipping up as it were.]

Oh Merlin, is that a kimono? It's so beautiful! I've never seen one in person before!

H-Huh? [One second she's alone talking to herself and the next there is suddenly a girl beside her, looking very gleeful. Shiemi takes a moment to recover the small surprise before smiling at her.]

O-Oh, thank you! I know it isn't very common to wear such things out here, but I feel more comfortable in it than I do my uniform...
