WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!

[Someone is certainly excited to be in the book store. Sam's picking up every book he can find, turning them over in his hand, skimming a few pages, and then putting them back right where they came from. He looks more and more sad with each book he puts back, but the cycle will repeat until someone stops him.]

Are you going to Hogwarts? A first year? Me too. Do you like history? In that case I'd recommend you look at this book. _{[He points to Hogwarts, a History.} It's one of the required books anyway, but I was reading it earlier in the summer and it's really interesting.

Uh, yeah. I'm going into first. I'm looking for non-required texts, though. I'm going to use my older brother's books, so I want to get supplements if I can.

Oh. I don't know much, either. Dean doesn't answer all of my questions about the theories of magic.

So...Do you have family at Hogwarts, or is your whole family Muggles?

Oh, yeah. Dave doesn't really answer a lot of my questions either, so I've read through some of his old books.

Dave is going to be a fourth year, and my uncle is a teacher! But the three of us are the only people in our entire family who are magical. Is it just you and your brother?

I don't think Dean really knows the answers to mine.

[He grins. Is this what friendship feels like?]

My family is magic! My dad doesn't really like using it, though. He says he prefers being hands on, but I think he's Muggleborn? I don't remember. He doesn't talk about it, much. I dunno if my mom was, though? He doesn't talk about her, either, but I think she was magical too. I'm just not really sure.

That's cool, I guess. I'm a Muggleborn. Or I'm pretty sure I am. Like there is a 95% chance that I am. I don't know anything about my mother. I'm not even entirely sure what she looks like anymore, but it's never been something I wondered too much about.
