WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!

Seriously. That's not to say that Ludwig is all work and no play. He's capable of having fun, when the the timing is appropriate.

I sincerely hope that doesn't put you behind on things. It would be really off-putting if you ended up being unprepared for school because of it.

I suppose that works, then. I don't normally share my things because my quills always come back in wretched shape if Gilbert uses them.

Mebbe he should try de markers too? Dey is not as fragile. Und dey come in more colors dan muggle pens!

That actually might work, given I can find a brand whose ink won't bleed too much. His penmanship is messy enough as it is.

In the stationary shop

[Look at those pretty quills and brushes!! Too bad they're all up on the top shelf, out of the reach of this petite firsty. She hasn't given up trying as she stretches her hand upwards as much as she can, but she's still nowhere near the top shelf. Frustrated, she did a little hop, and then a second, in hopes that the extra boost will be enough.

All Ib gets for her troubles is thin air. She pulls a face, but keeps on trying.]

_{[Oh, that's actually... kind of cute. A quick glance reveals what she's looking for so he reaches up and grabs the container for her.]}

[This boy is tall. Ludwig is practically looming over her, and his height and body stature does intimidate Ib a little. However, the container of supplies is happily accepted, and Ib bobs her head slightly at him.]

[His accent is different from the British ones she's hearing, yet familiar...she might've heard, or rather read, someone who had a similar accent over the journals.]

Are you German?

[Her own accent gives her away as Japanese; her English is slightly slow as well.]

_{[He doesn't want to assume; deciphering accents in English is hit or miss for him anyway, since it's not his native language.]}

I am from Tokyo, but now I am living in London.

[She mispronounces Oggie's name as O-ggi-eay, rather than "Oggie".]

Yes, we're in the same year. He's also German.

Not particularly. I enjoy other types of athletic training, though. And football, naturally.
