Roleplaying games
WHO: Teachers
TONE: Oh god why
RATING: PG13
WHEN: Wednesday June 27th
WHERE: Teachers common room
WHAT: The Teachers have to roleplay out some situations
STATUS: On going
What's better than roleplaying? Roleplaying to make yourself a better person! Today, the teachers have to play out scenarios to help them think through what to do.
We're doing this sort of link a meme. Each teacher should have a comment and then a teacher will comment back with the scenario that they'll be playing out. The teacher who started the thread will be playing the teacher in each scenario. Use the random number generator to get your scenario and play it out. Each teacher is supposed to play something out with everyone, so try to tag everyone.
1. A student comes to you about a bullying problem.
2. You find two students fighting and have to safely put a stop to it.
3. A student is coming on to you.
4. What do you do when you catch a student cheating.
5. What do you do when the girls go wild with rumor spreading.
6. There's been a magical accident and a student has been hurt.
7. What do you do when you catch a student with drugs with drugs or alcohol.
8. What do you do when a fellow teacher is treating a student unfairly.
9. What do you do when two teachers are fighting.
10. What do you do when a student is being verbally or physically agressive towards you.

I don't disagree with the concept of justice, but I don't agree with inflicting bodily harm to a person because of it. I'd rather prisons work on rehabilitation and counselling the inmates, than a simple Dementor's Kiss or a killing curse. Hurting someone for the sake of soothing your own hurt isn't justice; it's revenge.
I get that this opinion is idealistic and sometimes not realistic in certain situations, but every human life has its value; even with Dark Wizards.

Of course every life does - do you think you do a soul any favors by coddling them and telling them it's someone else's fault? And what value do you put on the life of those who have been hurt by the criminal? Or future victims? How well does 'rehabilitation' actually work?
[Rhys could quote numbers at Coulson all day - this is his area of expertise, after all. Arguing justice with a former wizard of the high courts is challenging, at the very least.] And a court does not hurt someone for the sake of soothing their own hurt - it is why victims aren't allowed to determine sentencing. But you are missing my point.
None of his is simple. Yet you would like to reduce it down to a catchy little phrase. You do abstract and complex concepts no justice. [smiles a little at his own joke, though his dark eyes are intent and serious] And if you truly believe things to be that simple, then more fool you.
