What's better than roleplaying? Roleplaying to make yourself a better person! Today, the teachers have to play out scenarios to help them think through what to do.

We're doing this sort of link a meme. Each teacher should have a comment and then a teacher will comment back with the scenario that they'll be playing out. The teacher who started the thread will be playing the teacher in each scenario. Use the random number generator to get your scenario and play it out. Each teacher is supposed to play something out with everyone, so try to tag everyone.


1. A student comes to you about a bullying problem.

2. You find two students fighting and have to safely put a stop to it.

3. A student is coming on to you.

4. What do you do when you catch a student cheating.

5. What do you do when the girls go wild with rumor spreading.

6. There's been a magical accident and a student has been hurt.

7. What do you do when you catch a student with drugs with drugs or alcohol.

8. What do you do when a fellow teacher is treating a student unfairly.

9. What do you do when two teachers are fighting.

10. What do you do when a student is being verbally or physically agressive towards you.

[Well, he is a fairly unnerving guy? And does sort of always act like he knows something the other professors don't, and finds it really funny.]

I supposed I gave them an extremely harsh detention. Something along those lines.

Well, for it to be unfair, you'd have had to go easier on other students, mm? As Dumbledore really does leave the disciplinary action up to us.

[He raises an eyebrow as he gives her a sardonic look, one corner of his mouth quirking up.] Matteris, why were you so ... soft on those children? Are possible inappropriate relationships a factor here?

Or I'm exceptionally harsh on the one.

There are countless of students that are vile wastes of space.

But that's not the question, is it? [Yeah, he knows, but it's funny to him to imply it.] Maybe there are, but what about the ones you're more, shall we say, gentle with? What is the difference there? And how do you imagine it appears to others, I'm curious.

Gentle isn't a word I hear describing my methods often.

And I imagine others can find better things to gossip bout.

You do enjoy avoiding the question, don't you? [amused] You might try being a little more subtle about it, though. Really, considering some of the other professors here, it's hard to be terribly impressed with your harsher methods - no one's been hung up by their thumbs yet, have they? You really have nothing on old Aethelwald, back when I was in school.

So. Let's get back to the point of this - motivation, Matteris. Explain it.

I forget you're almost twice my age.

The student was being an insufferable prick and I decided that he deserved punishment that ended up causing him some sort of pain. Probably a pain a female student couldn't feel or understand.

So you gave him an insufferable prick, yes, very clever. Considering you think many students are vile wastes of space, what made this boy special? Since I assume you don't always punish male children with genital torture.

I chose to punish the student who called me a whore and drew lewd pictures of me.

So, it's a personal thing. Well, fair enough. [snorts a laugh] Was the art any good?

Maybe if it was he wouldn't be punished so severely.

Ah, but you're skirting the inappropriate line there again ... if he had drawn flattering pornographic art, you might have let him off with only a little twist? Tsk, tsk.

If he had put any effort into it, perhaps. I don't like things half-assed.

Now how do you know he just isn't a terrible artist?

He's the sort who would be terrible on purpose.

Then I would hardly call your punishment unfair. There's no excuse for deliberately bad art.
