WHO: Kurt Hummel and YOU
TONE: Very light for now.
RATING: PG-13, just in case?
WHEN: April 27th,
WHERE: The library
WHAT: Kurt is reading up on masquerades in the library. And singing. Because Kurt. (Prose, but action tag replies are fine.)
STATUS: In-progress
It was kind of insane, really, that in almost five years this was his first time throwing a party at Hogwarts. It wasn't that throwing parties was something Kurt did a lot, but he did like to entertain and set things up; get decorative... And the level of control it offered was nice.
A masquerade had been a truly brilliant idea on Denley's part. Mysterious, elegant, fancy... Hopefully those inherit traits would lead to decent behavior. Kurt wasn't against people having fun, but he didn't want another fight busting out as had happened a month or so ago between some of the third years. (At least that had been over music. Sort of.)
Still, the fact remained that Kurt didn't know a whole lot about masquerades beyond the basics. So, he'd headed to the library and found some appropriate books. Now he was settled at a table, leafing through pages and singing quietly to himself.
"Blackbird singing in the dead of night... Take these broken wings and learn to fly..."
The more he got involved in his reading, the less he kept his volume in check.

At least, that was until he heard the light singing, sort of. He didn't really consciously turn towards it so much as he drifted in that direction, humming the tune under his breath. By the time he got to Kurt, he was singing along too.
"Blackbird singing in the dead of night... take these sunken eyes and learn to see..."

Staurt was in his year; a Hufflepuff and though Kurt didn't really buy into House stereotypes too much when it wasn't about Gryffindor, it certainly seemed that Staurt fit in with the house's reputations for being a bit too soft. Still... A nice guy.
"It's always nice when someone else knows Muggle music."

"Err, when we're not in the library, though."

"You'll get into trouble if you keep singing that loudly."

"Right. I didn't realize I'd gotten louder."

"You're a good singer," he said, "I just don't think some people would appreciate it."
The librarian, specifically.

Kurt titled his head to the side, looking the boy over. He was familiar, but he couldn't quite come up with a name to match the face. "I'm sorry, who are you?"

He shifted some of his books out of the way, making his fort less of a fort and more of a tower stacked up in a corner.

Link leaned around the bookshelves to see his roommate sitting at a table. Placing his book casually between two unrelated books, he made his way over to the other boy. "You know, this is one of the few times I've heard you sing," he commented, seating himself across from Kurt.

"Hello, Link." He closed his book, waiting to hear a verdict on his singing.
