Eighteen inches for Charms and twelve inches for Care of Magical Creatures. Who the hell set these ridiculous amounts of homework? Oh right, the teachers. If there was one thing about the school that Karkat abhorred more than maybe the lake or how long it took to get to class, it was the homework. Who the hell wrote in inches anyway? He couldn't count on his aunt to give him a good grade in Care just because they were related either which was disappointing but he guessed that was how things went anyway.

He'd been sitting there since after lunch, and he stretched, placing his head on his arms with a huff. This was ridiculous.

She laughed at that, shoulders shaking a little as she did so. "No... hit back? He deserve it, of course. Zahhak is brat. If it was me I would hit him back, you know?" Her relationship with the Ravenclaw was something she found hard to describe. She certainly wouldn't call him her friend, but they weren't exactly enemies either. She just found him a little too strange for her.

"Oh I punched him. Right in the fucking face." Karkat sat back in his seat and gestured to the bright ginger red hair that covered his head instead of his usual black rat's nest. "I got this in return."

"Break his nose, I hope." She lifted up her hand to cover a snicker. "Is good color on you! Brings out eye color." She reached for another one of his books, still curious and needing something to occupy her hands with.

"Maybe make color stay... permanent?"

He raised an eyebrow before he figured out what she was saying. He shrugged a little, running fingers through the mop on top of his head. "I figured I'd keep it if only to spite the asshole."

"He is easy to annoy, yes." She would know. Her very presence annoys him. His idea of purebloods being greater than others just seemed asinine and pointless to her. So getting on his nerves was a little satisfying.

"But is better ways to annoy him, you know?"
