there's more to this brave adventure than you believe
WHO: Vriska Serket & YOU
TONE: Pretty casual?
RATING: PG to PG-13
WHEN: Sunday afternoon.
WHERE: The Great Hall
WHAT: Vriska is playing a game of Wizard's Chess by herself. Come and join her!
STATUS: Open and on-going.
So it was a little difficult to play chess by herself, but after a few stalemate rounds she managed to get into the grove of battling herself for victory. She got the idea over winter break when there was literally nothing for her to do but knit scarves for her great aunt and feed Nicholas, her Greenbottle Blue tarantula. It was a very long break for her, unfortunately.
"Knight to E5." Her words were still heavily accented from her native tongue, but at least understandable. Earlier she had weakly justified this game as speech practice (although it really wasn't, but the idea that it was made her feel better about playing it over and over) and she would stick with that reason.

"I assure you, miss...?" He raises an eyebrow up at her, waiting for her to fill in the blank. He mutters a direction for a pawn and sits back as he watches it move for him. A small smirk tugs at his lips, this girl was no match.
"Once a strategist, always a strategist."

"Maybe." She gave her move and the chess piece moved across the board. It was noticeably hard for her to keep up a meaningful conversation during her time here at school. It gave her a less than desirable reputation of being a quiet girl when really it was just the opposite. English just infuriated her beyond belief to deal with it in large amounts. "It a good Sunday for you, Professor?" No one could say she didn't at least try.

He grunts quietly as she makes the move, not at all expecting a child to be a worthy opponent. He thinks for a moment before giving his movements and then looks back up at the girl, even more curious about the accent.
"I've had worse." He says that with a small snort, because it's true. One Sunday he awoke to a great hall in the midst of the biggest food fight of the wizarding world. "Have you been behavin' yourself?"
no subject
"Of course." She issued another move on her side, chin propped up by her hand. "I am always behaved, Professor." A smile.

It's a dick move, but someone needs to correct her. How else will she learn? Still, he half smiles back at her as he makes yet another dick move. Only this time it is a particularly cruel chess move.
