The nurse is in!
WHO: Dolores Maryam and everyone!
TONE: General, probably varied
RATING: Let's say PG-13 to be safe
WHEN: September 18
WHERE: Hospital Wing
WHAT: Open thread for people to visit Dolores in the hospital for anything they might need
STATUS: Ongoing
----
[Welcome to the hospital wing! Perhaps you are a visitor to a patient, or an unfortunate individual who has managed to injure themselves in a Potions accident or an incident in Herbology. Maybe you just need a smile and a friendly ear for your problems, or a mild Calming Draught to help you sleep.
Whatever it is that you require, when the door to the ward is pushed open the first sound to be heard is that of a soft humming, and light footsteps moving across the room. Dolores Maryam looks fairly young, but there's a motherly atmosphere about her as she turns and smiles enquiringly]

Hello!

[Dolores smiles in return, though she looks the girl up and down for any sign of a problem - a force of habit from so many years of nursing]
What can I help you with, dear?

He pokes his head through the door of the hospital wing, glancing around before stepping in properly.]
Err..

Hello, Professor Donoghue.
[She's not that far from him, straightening the sheets of one of the empty beds, and she smiles softly at him]
What might I do for you today?
no subject
I have somethin' I need to discuss with you. [He glances around.] Do you have a moment?

She looks around a screen, holding a few bottles in her hands, and laughs quietly when she spots the girl]
Are you alright, sweetheart?

Thank you, but I am fine.

Hello...?

She's quick enough in making an appearance, crossing quickly to him and taking a light hold of his wrists, drawing his hands away from his eyes to keep him from rubbing them]
Now, Karkat, my dear, what have I told you about this?

And yet he can still recall exactly which bed he died, which bed he woke up in. He still remembers which side of the bed Dumbledore was sitting on when he greeted him with the sad twinkle in his eye and told him gently that he'd...missed the train.
Still, Kankri enters nonetheless, straightening his back and smoothing out his jumper to look as dignified as possible.]
Dolores?

That would do them both a disservice, though, so she steels herself, straightens her skirts, and steps into view.
It's a strange feeling and one she hasn't experienced in a long time. Her heart lodges in her throat and she can almost feel it pounding though such a thing is impossible]
Kankri.. It really is you.
[Dolores presses two fingers to her lips and finally forces her legs to move. They feel like lead but at least they carry her across the room until she's standing in front of the boy. For the longest time, she doesn't know what to say. Her fingers trace the line of his shoulder, careful to not go through it, then she does the only thing she can think to do.
She hugs him, and it's hard, because there's nothing solid to hold on to, but she remembers embracing Kankri like it only happened yesterday and her fingers curl over his shoulder, one hand at the back of his head and she can recall how his hair felt, how the fabric of that jumper would feel under her palm, and just for one long moment she remembers it all so vividly she could swear he's breathing and alive.
But.. he isn't, and she knows that. This is just the final piece in the puzzle to confirm everything, and she tries and fails to keep the renewed grief from her eyes as she moves back from him and smiles gently]
Hello, dear..
Because I want more Dolly CR.

Hello, Marshall.
[She turns to him with a smile, a little more reserved than the ones she usually bestows on the students. She's aware, after all, that this 'boy' is far more senior than her]
You are? Is something wrong?

Of course, he was just going to... come in. Just to make sure his black eye was healed up and stuff like that. Yep. No other reason!! Thankfully he wasn't actually here for a fresh injury or anything, not like it was the previous week or so.
As he shuffles on in, he glances about trying to find her.]
Hello?

[Dolores pokes her head around one of the screens further up the ward and smiles warmly when she spots the boy, making her way over to him. There's a flicker of concern as she looks at his face, instantly zeroing in on the discolouration still present around his eye]
Dear me.. what have you been doing?

[But of course it's Marceline - she shouldn't even need to ask. As soon as she sees the girl she's by her side in a moment, one hand lightly gripping her upper arm]

[The smell of singed skin and hair isn't something that can be mistaken for anything else and Dolores hurries to him, leading him to one of the beds and helping him up onto it before she unwraps the fabric from around his hand to look at the damage.
All the while, every touch is gentle and her voice is soft and kind]
