WHAT: There is a huge festival the whole week to let students get school supplies. People from all over are flocking to Diagon Alley for the best deals. That means you might meet new people or see old friends!

[There's a small Asian girl with an owl on her head trying to get the woman with her to pay attention and help her sort through the books she wants and discover if they come in braille. The woman keeps getting distracted by. every. fucking. thing.]

Yo! [ Masamune, being the gentleman he is--- wait, that's a lie, he just wants to get this lady's attention as well. He's pretty much a one-eyed brat. He snuck out of Kojuro's sight, so he's gonna end up in trouble, but MAN. A dragon does his own shopping, you see? ]

[ The fact that he bumps into this girl is an unfortunate side-effect. And since he's too cool for school, he doesn't even have the right of mind to apologize. ] Oi, watch it!

[The woman turns quickly, but continues to look distracted.] Hm?

[The girl, meanwhile, tries to shove him back and looks indignant.] 'Watch'? 'Watch'? Are you making fun of a blind girl?!

What? [ Masamune turns around and-- FUCK seriously? The eye-patched kid saying 'watch it' and it had to be with the one person who actually sees less than he does? Crap, crap, okay Masamune takes a step back, seriously surprised that, yep, the girl in his way is in fact, blind. He's not super used to this--- normally when he pumps into people, they apologize first. ]

Shit, how was I supposed to know? I didn't mean it like, literally.

[The woman finally focuses on him properly, and just positively lights up.] You look like a pirate!

Mum, you're undermining my point here. [More of an aside, than anything... Terezi's neither embarrassed nor surprised.]

[ Dammit, Masamune is pissed. He's about to flip but-- but he's gotta stay cool. That's what Kojuro would say. Settle down. Don't be a dick to ladies, even if one of them is around your age, and even if the other one is a fucking idiot. He takes a deep breath, pushing his bangs off of his face. He's still pissed off, but he's reigning it in. Dragons don't blow up at girls, anyway. ]

[To her mother, legitimately curious:] Why are you going on about pirates, anyway? Does he have a parrot or something?

Hm? I'm looking for [insert a number of extra curricular books on hexes and hexing], in braille. I wanted to sort out the ones I don't have already, and take them to the clerk to order braille versions, but Mum is too excited to pay attention.

[The woman smiles in a distracted sort of way.] You hair is so pretty. So colorful! More kids should dye their hair. (Hehehe)

What? Her hair's dyed? ...What color? [Looks like Terezi's almost as easily distracted as her mother, sometimes.]

Oh, it's blue, with streaks. I can help you with that, though. I know where pretty much everything is anyway.

Really? Cool. [Which fact that's in response to, she doesn't specify.]

Great. Mum, show her the list, would you?

[The woman digs around in her pockets and produces a slip of paper, handing it to Twilight.]

That's a list of all the books on hexes we've already got. Basically, if it's not on that list and it comes in braille, I'm interested. We have got a spending limit, I think we agreed on fifty pounds, right Mum? Er... Mum, what's that in galleons?

I don't know. How should I know? That's your thing.

Shit. Hang on a sec, we had this figured out earlier. [The girl seems to be trying to remember something. Probably the conversion rate.]

That's about five galleons. [Useless-not-so-useless knowledge Twilight keeps in her head.]

Let me take a look at that. [She takes the list from the woman and gives it a look over, clearly thinking.] Well, I've never had to look for books in braille, but I can recommend a few good text that aren't on this list, and we can see if they're available.

I know this stuff during the school year, it's over the summer I forget... [Terezi's annoyed with herself, but hey, the other girl knows the conversion rate. It's all good.]

Can you? That would be awesome.

[strongjumps]

[ While this small Asian girl is having all sorts of trouble, she and the woman accompanying her attract the attention of a surly-looking athletic kid. But when he sees just who this girl is, he can't help but crack a slight smirk.

He walks up behind her, peering over her shoulder to look at the books she was examining. After about a second, he chuckles, and decides to actually start some kind of conversation. ]

Finding everything okay?

[just1c3w1tch]

[The girl gasps, recognizing that voice!] Why, Mr. Zahhak! [Then her voice drops into a stage whisper:] What if we're seen together! Think of the scandal!

[Her mother hums happily to herself, picking up one of the discarded books and beginning to flip through it.]

[strongjumps]

[ He can't help but scoff at her, between her voice and her words, but he responds with an actual whisper. ]

Then give me one moment.

[ And then he puts on a convincing face of discontent and shoves past Terezi with a lot less force than it looks like as his tone turns absolutely venomous. ]

Step aside, wretch.

[ He takes a place about a step away from her as he begins looking at a few books himself. A second or two later, he leans over to her and starts up conversation again, careful to hide it as looking at books that are between them. ]

So what else are you looking for?

[Terezi scowls and stumbles back a little at the shove.] Rude!

[Her mother looks up, frowning. She returns to the book after a moment though.]

[When he addresses Terezi again, her apparent irritation is gone.] Okay, here's the situation, Agent 116. I'm looking for good books on hexes that aren't on my list, that hopefully come in braille. Mum is supposed to be helping me, but she sucks.

[strongjumps]

I shall see what assistance I can provide.

[ And he shoves off past Terezi once more, scanning the shelves for any sort of ordering system.

A few minutes later, he makes his way back to her with a few books in tow, squeezing past her with more false hostility. To make his wandering around just a little more convincing, he pulls a random book from the shelf and puts it on the stack in his arms. Then, with a bit of subtlety (assuming he even has much to begin with) he puts the pile of books on a shelf within Terezi's reach, so she could examine them. ]

Mum, could you pay attention for five seconds, and compare these to the list?

[With some grumbling, Eggy pulls out a list and scans the titles Equius brought.]

This one's on the list, but the rest aren't. And the book on top is on Charms and Potions for the Romantic...?

Which one, Mum? I'm bli--love charms...? Snrk. (Hehehe) Hahahaha! Aheh, ahem, I'm sorry, Agent 116, but I'm afraid, haha, that I'm going to have to insist we keep things (hehe) professional, hahaha!

[Marceline has been hanging around Flourish & Blotts for most of the day considering that was near where she was when the sun started coming out. Spying her roommate, she leaves her spot on the corner of the banister, sliding down to the bottom floor and landing on her feet just a couple of steps from them.]

Hey, 'Rez. Hi, Ms Pyrope!

[Terezi looks up--force of habit, it's not like which way she faces matters anymore. She smiles and waves a free hand in the vampire's general direction.] Huh? Oh! Hey, Marceline.

Hey~. I don't remember you being quite so pale... You been sick or something?

You want to help me go through this shit? Mum's got the attention span of a flea. [Terezi motions to the pile of books she's been going through.]

Excuse you! Rude!

[She gives a small shrug at Ms Pyrope's question, giving a small half truth in response.]

Just haven't been out in the sun much this summer. [Marceline laughs a little.] Sure. I've been hanging around here for most of the day. Leave the list with me and go do something, I'm not going anywhere.

[Eggy seems satisfied with the answer and returns to looking around distractedly.]

Really? That would be great. Mum, list, gimme.

Huh? Oh. Alright. [She hands the list to Terezi, who then hands the list to Marceline.]

I'm looking for good books on hexes, that aren't on this list, and that come in braille. You've got to ask the clerks about the braille editions.

[Marceline takes the list, looking it over before giving a nod even though she knows Terezi can't see it.]

Sure thing. Dangerous hexes or just hexes in general?

[Lovino was walking through getting the last bits and bobs he needed for his classes. While it was extremely crowded in the shop, the girl with the owl on her head stuck out to him the most.

She looked completely lost, and quite a bit annoyed too. He didn't have anywhere to be anytime soon so he decided to see if he could help her and went to tap her on her shoulder.]
