Ah, the sound of music. It's not always a pretty sound- definitely not. While there are plenty of good bands at the festival, there are also plenty of pretty awful ones trying to make it big. But that's okay, because it's still a good time! Look at all of those stages, look at all that festival food. Four days of music, fun and awesomeness! So walk around, enjoy the music, maybe enter the singing competition they have each day.

But wait! Even if you aren't musically inclined, guess what? Shortly after arriving, you begin to feel the sudden urge to sing, too, even if you might sound like a dying whale. Eventually the urge is going to get so great that you just have to break out into song. Or you might just sing randomly throughout the day, if you give into the feelings. It really depends on your willpower! Either way, you will sing. It looks like all the spells used to make this happen have had unintended side-effects.

That won't stop you from having fun though, right?

I can't say I'm exactly an expert on them. Guess I'm more of a carnival guy- speaking of, you think they have like wizard candy floss or whatever here? I could go for some of that.

[He nods along, kind of rambling due to the incredible nerves that the girl seems to give him.] Uh. Stupefy'd ain't half bad. What're you into? Rock? Hard Rock? Metal?

[Jane is into music of course, but her tastes aren't too specific. And she isn't going to get into how he didn't give her many choices to begin with.]

I like just about anything. Dirk and Dave have introduced me to some bands, but I suppose I've never gotten as attached as they tend to.

[She glances at him, frowning a little at how...rattled he seems. Is she doing something wrong?]

We could get some candy floss first, though. My dad gave me a little extra pocket money for that sort of thing anyway.

[That music certainly seems to be specific, but Nick won't judge. He thought the crazy candy fairy thing she had going was pretty impressive, for lack of a better word.]

That's easy, then. We can just head on over to whatever stage sounds the best. [He gives her a lazy shrug, seeming to calm a little. Though he is quick to wave her off at the mention of money.]

Fuggedaboutit, doll. I'm the gentleman, right? I'll handle it. [He can't help grinning a little, scoping out a stall and making a bee line for it.]

[stubbornskeptic]

[Jane...gapes for a moment. And then she starts giggling, following him at a steady trot.]

Hoo hoo hoo, are you some sort of muggle gangster? I mean, I know I don't use the most hip lingo but, hoo hoo hoo. Fuggedaboutit! [She snickers into her hand.]

[streetsmarts]

[Wow, okay. Way to make his cheeks flush up. Girls aren't meant to giggle at you for talking dumb- what a loser!!]

What? No! Why're you making fun of my dialect? [He folds his arms over his chest.] You keep talking like that you might not get that floss o' yours.

[stubbornskeptic]

Ohhh, I'm sorry. I'm just teasing you. [And really, that's a sign that she's getting more comfortable with him.] I think it's cute, that's all.

[streetsmarts]

Of course you are. [That earns her a squint...then a raised eyebrow.] Cute? Cute?? No. I ain't cute. Cool is the word you're looking for. [And with that he's going to discreetly pluck a stick of cotton candy off the stand, passing it to her quickly so as not to be associated with it for long.] Suits you.

[Jane takes the floss, smirking to herself. He's really flustered by her, isn't he? It's...well, it's still cute. He's going to have to live with that label.]

Thank you. And I think you might have to prove the coolness to me. I haven't really gotten the full effect yet.

[streetsmarts]

'fraid it doesn't happen on cue, doll. [Wow as if he has not already been the epitome of cool yet.] You gonna eat that or is it for show? [He gestures at her candy floss.]

How unfortunate for me.

[She blinks and then makes a small "oh!" noise and begins eating, sighing happily as the sugar melts on her tongue.]

Oh, I think they did something to make it taste like all the flavors at once. How strange. I'm fairly certain I like it, though. [She holds it out to him.] Try some too?
