"Fingers is going to kill me"
WHO: Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Thor Odinson, Steve Rogers, Jane Foster.
TONE: Family Friendly
RATING: PG at best
WHEN: Second week into the holidays
WHERE: Tony's manor
WHAT: Movie Marathoning
STATUS: On going
After deciding with Steve that a marathon of all the movies involving the master of narrowing gazes Bruce Willis, the young heir decided to make an actual deal about it inviting all the guys and Jane. Admittedly Jane was a late addition to the party, but the girl likes science and Thor seemed a lot more cheerful around her than he had been before Christmas., which only added to the reasons of inviting her because it could even mean Thor would less likely to get onto his case about the last quidditch match if she was around to distract him.
Having a flair for grandeur, Tony arranged for cars to pick the others up like always, and on arrival Jarvis would then lead those arriving to the small home theatre with comfortable recliner chairs with a nice big screen. Tony however wont be there for who ever first arrives, as he is in the garage fastening the last bolts of the engine he's been working on all year into his cars chassis, dressed only in a tank top, sweat pants, he couldn't even be bothered with shoes or socks today.

Jane is the lucky one that arrives first, and it seems she's alone in the movie room. Deciding that this is just not acceptable, she goes wandering, looking god her host until she stumbles on him in the garage. She pokes her head in, and calls out.
"Hello? Tony?" Peer.
"Really dressed for the occasion, huh?"
no subject
Hearing Janes voice he almost drops his wrench and can just be seen struggling to keep it in his hand. Before leaning out of the engine and looks at her before grinning at her.
"Well, you know me. Always looking my best. Aren't you here, um, early? I thought the marathon was Wednesday?"
When Tony loses track of time, it tends to be in 18-24 hour blocks at a time if not longer.
no subject
Jane watches him struggle with no small amount of amusement. Leave it to Tony to completely get lost in his work.
In a way, he was a lot like her. She tended to do that too -- get so caught up in her research and studying and working and curiousity about everything ever that sometimes she forgets to even eat.
She gives him a little lopsided smirk, and folds her arms over her chest.
"Tony, it is Wednesday."
no subject
"Huh. Really?"
He stops and tilts his head, before raising his voice a little as he moves away from the car.
"Jarvis?"
There's a pause as a nearby intercom comes to life.
"Sir?"
"Is it really Wednesday?"
"Indeed it is, sir. In fact it was also Wednesday when I found you were still in your garage at 6am this morning."
"Hmm. Well that solves it. And you're the only one here? Wait, if you found me... How long have you been here? Because well, this is sort of.. Out of the way."
no subject
See, she's right.
"Uh..." She shrugs. "I think I am. And I dunno...like...an hour?" Maybe. Something like that. She's been wandering around for a while.
no subject
"You need Ice tea"
He points to her, as if there was someone else in the room undeserving of a drink therefore she needed to be pointed out specifically, then he just starts heading out of the garage, his feet slapping against the cold floor. Because Tony's just used to people following him when he does things like this.
no subject
Tony, that's creepy.
"Um."
She blinks at him, then just...follows after. Because why not? Besides, iced tea sounded really good right now.
"How long were you out here working on that thing? Since six this morning? Really?"
no subject
"Well, if you mean the whole car. Two years, but only because well, Hogwarts doesn't really have shop class. But I've been working on installing the engine since... Sunday night? Well not just the engine, I was checking wiring, clearing out pipes. You'd be surprised how dirty things get when you only come home a few times a year to maintain things. And re clean the part of the engine I didn't take to Hogwarts this year."
Without paying any attention to the decorated but obviously unused surrounds, Tony leads her back to the theatre room, where he knows there's drinks.
no subject
She's still marveling at both her surroundings and Tony's ability to continuously talk without breathing as they walk back to the theater room.
"I'm lucky. Selvig is as into science as I am. When I come home, my telescope has always been dusted for me. I think he uses it when I'm not around."
no subject
Tony walks past a mirror in the hallway then stops and gets in front of the mirror and looks at himself.
"Huh. Why didn't you tell me this was such a good look?"
Because yeah, Tony hasn't looked at himself in days.
no subject
"Uh-- same as me." She nearly bumps into him when he stops, and rocks back on her heels a little with a polite cough.
"Er, I didn't--"
Tony you love making Jane awkward don't you just admit it.
no subject
"I should probably change, and clean up a bit. Want to go back to the theatre, or wait in my room? I probably won't be long"
Of course he does, but really he likes doing it to anyone, Janes just a new and fun target.
no subject
"I should probably head to the theater." Just in case Thor shows up plus hanging out in Tony's room while he showers and changes is evern more awkward.
"I'll see you there then, yeah?"
no subject
"Well that's almost bad for the self esteem." But then he nods.
"Want me to take you the rest of the way, or have you got this?"
no subject
"I think I can make it." She peeks out the door.
"If I get lost, I'll just...call for Jarvis."
no subject
"Just look for the white panel with the one button and a speaker. He'll answer every time you use it. Only the one's in the garage and my room are voice activated. Have fun, kitten."
no subject
She'd swat him if she was close enough.
"Sure, sure. See you soon, Tony."
no subject
In the theatre room
The Screen has a listing of all the movies Tony has that have Bruce Willis, which is pretty much all of them, clearly his projector is hooked up to a computer somewhere hidden, with the remote sitting on the Arm of a chair that clearly looks like Tony lives in it sometimes.
no subject
When he enters, he sees it's empty. This is where he was told to go, so he finds a good seat and gets out his drawing pad and pencil and sketches as he waits for people.
no subject
"Drawing me like one of your French girls from memory, Rogers? I'm touched. Taken, but touched."
He smirks widely to himself.
no subject
The only thing that would make it better would be Jane, but Thor refuses to admit he is terribly put out by the fact that she probably will not be here. Still! It's not going to stop him from excitedly poking about Tony's home without actually seeking out the boy to greet him. Luckily, Jarvis is used to the strange Norwegian by now.
no subject
"You know, the place has tours every Tuesday. You could always come back then and have everything explained by some really posh English girl."
no subject
"I can tour myself around quite easily, actually." He narrows his eyes at the other boy. "Where are the others!" That's said as more of an exclamation than a question.
no subject
"Tour, or break smugly?" Tony raises an eyebrow before continuing. "Well if you think about it, I'm having a movie marathon, so wouldn't it make sense to think we're all where the biggest TV, or in this case, projector is."
Tony Turns and gestures for him to follow.
"I'll take you there. Oh, and I found a kitten in there. Maybe you could look after it."
no subject
"Please, I have no intention of breaking your meaningless possessions! If I wanted to bother you, I'd break your pride!" He laughs in an ominously cheerful manner.
"I hadn't thought you functioned on good sense, Stark." He retorts, following the gesture with surprising obedience. "How does one find a kitten in your own home? Would you not know of it already?" He narrows his eyes, wondering if Tony is implying he bought him a cat.
no subject
"My... Pride... Okay, really. You can not talk anymore, believe me it's fine."
Tony shrugs as he keeps walking.
"It happens sometimes, don't let it taint your image of me. As for the kitten, I found her in my garage, mewing, probably came in through a window or while the doors where open. But I'm not really one for cats, and well, you have a little brother so you've got to be used to looking after things."
no subject
Thor snorts unattractively. “Why would I deny you the charming timbre of my beautiful voice when you’ve been so obviously deprived of it?!”
Thor just can’t help narrowing his eyes ever more as Tony continues. He may not be the brightest, but he knows Stark and something seems oddly…off. He shrugs a little dramatically, deciding to play along in the hopes that it’s the good kind of trickery.
“That certainly seems an odd sort of event!” He declares, the opposite of non chalant as he stares at Tony. “I am proficient enough at caring for things, but destruction comes more naturally.” Just sayin’.
no subject
He shakes his head in mock resignation.
"It's like I bring out the worst in you."
He keeps leading Thor, coming to a stop outside the door of the room.
"Not that odd an event, it's a large property, sometimes pets get loose and show up from next door or something. Sometimes they even follow me home."
There's a pause as he puts his hand on the door.
"Yeah, don't destroy anything in here. It's worth more than our education. Well, yours."
no subject
Thor continues to plod after Tony, his face still scrunched skeptically. “You’ve not mentioned it before.”
He scoffs again, rolling his eyes. “Such expenses are mere pocket change to my family. Now open the door or I shall break it down.”
no subject
"I'm only here for three months every year. And normally it's not important to send you an owl with 'guess what, there's a cat in my magnolias' it's a little too internet for you. And a little sad on my behalf. It's just that the kitten showed up today and looked like it needs a labradoodle to play with."
At the suggestion of Thor breaking down the door, Tony opens it and walks in, seeing Jane in the room he smirks.
"See, a kitten."
